      I'm looking at the 6+. It's been on my radar since it first came out. On sale 8/29 til 11:59 pst for 1600. But I'm seriously leaning towards the upgraded Class 3 Ride1up Core-5 for 1200 due to the weight difference and bike rack loading. I have until 11:59 to decide. This will be my first ebike.

    Went from the Rover (big tires/74+ lbs.) for three years ago. A great off road bike street, curbs, grass, gravel etc. Now have the Mini (folding) it’s easier to put in the trunk. For rides with friends farther away. Love em & $$$$. !!

    What an excellent detailed review of these bikes. I am planning to buy a Rad Power just for courier purpose. Need it for UberEATS and DoorDash. I am 5’7. I live in hilly city, but all streets are paved. Can you suggest which Rad Power Bike should I go for? Will work daily at least for 5-8 hours on it, so need something reliable. I really like RadRunner Plus but I don't know if the fat tire will give me less range than other ones. Pleease help me to choose. Thank you

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  Před 2 lety +2

      The RadCity 5 Plus will be the largest range but keep in mind you could always buy a RadRunner and then buy a second battery if needed. I think the Runner lends itself towards being a great ebike for UberEATS and DoorDash but you could probably use the longer rack on the RadCity as well. I'd think being able to ride it like a moped and having the dual kickstand on the Runner would be nice. Either way, hope you enjoy whatever you get!

    Hello
    Thanks for an in-depth tour of their products!!
    I would just like to ask for the height as I am 6'6 - and my "real inseam" is 38.5, the only bike they say it would work out is RadMission high-step (says so in the newest Bike Fitting Guide).
    I see you have a different opinion, do you have a suggestion? I'm a bit hesitant tbh.

      I know I'm a bit late in replying since you posted 4 months ago. However, we went to a local RAD store that was having a sale. We rode several models. I'm 6'5" (36-inch inseam), and 205 lbs. I rode 3 different models. I liked the Rad 6 the best. I didn't find anything wrong with the fit or features except 2. First, let me say the size of the bike was fine for me. I had to raise the seat up quite a bit, but it did have the ability to meet my body measurements properly. My only complaint was the handlebar. I would like to have it raised up higher as I don't like slouching/bending over to ride for long periods. I'm not a power, off-road rider. The most off-road I'd ever go is a gravel parking lot. That said, it seems they have a limited ability to raise the handlebar to my liking. Perhaps they have solved that issue. It's been about 6 months since those test rides. The other issue is the seat. I find the long tongue seats very uncomfortable so I'd swap that out with one with a shorter tongue and maybe more padding. After riding for several hours a few weeks ago (not a RAD bike, but another e-bike), my groin and butt were kinda sore. Don't think that should be tolerated especially since it was all road travel. But other than those two issues, I found the RAD 6 to be a well-built, sturdy, and very capable e-bike for riding around the city or walking/riding trails (not the off-road dirt trails). Don't know if that helps any.

    This is helpful but I'm still uncertain which model to buy. I like the idea of being able to lift the bike into my car so weight matters. I was told that the Mini loses some stability as a folding bike. Is that so?

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  Před 2 lety

      In my opinion the frame rigidity on the folding model is not something the average rider will notice. You may want to look at even lighter folding ebikes though. Just depends on how much you want to lift.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  Před 2 lety +2

      You'll want to call around to bike shops and ask. Typically they will help with general maintenance - brakes, flat repair and shifting but will not touch electronics.

    • @EbikeEscape

      Check out the geometry section on the product page. You might be able to ride it, but full leg extension might be a challenge. The RadMini is designed for shorter riders.
