It’s a statement I’ve heard from wealth managers before.
If I’m going to buy that Chanel reissue in black then I’m saving until I have 2x the price & then putting the extra into my money making accounts.

At first, I was like “why is she even defending herself against something?” .. but then kept watching this video and just want to thank you Amber for always keeping it so real. Girl, I coupon at dollar general, family dollar, cvs, and Walgreens. It started 3 yrs ago just couponing for diapers because I was about to have a baby and I was all alone-no baby shower, no family or friends. I needed to prepare. My son is now 2 and a half, and I coupon for diapers, wipes, all hygiene items, drug store make up, and household products. I have a whole room I’ve filled up with all of this stuff. And every 3 months, I fill up my car and bring stuff to the women’s shelter. And I work with a CPS case manager who comes shopping in my room whenever she has or knows of a family in need. I love to shop, but I had to change what I shop for. Instead of purses, shoes, and clothes now I shop for these items I coupon for. My budget is $15 per week. And when it comes to shopping for clothes and accessories, I clearance shop! And if I want something “expensive” I will find free furniture on FB marketplace and find a way to make it look like something from a trendy store and resell it. When there’s a will, there’s a way!

I think you might need to watch much more of Amber's content. The "chick" that you claim has "no job" probably earns somewhere in the seven figures and just got done explaining how all of her shopping is done for her channel. CZcams, can be a VERY lucrative job - if you are very savvy and smart and work as damn hard as this "chick" does. She also has 3.44 MILLION followers, and she also has sponsors and she ALSO has her own jewelry business that sells worldwide. That means she actually has quite a few jobs and is as already set up with both a great investment portfolio and a retirement fund...already! And she is still very young. Again, I just think you need to watch & listen to her, not only because she's funny, smart and successful - but becausr she does what she loves for a living (which is rare and pretty great) and Amber is kind & empathetic to boot.

I got a really bad shopping addiction in college. It's still there but I'm trying to be aware of it while I "window shop". Had to remove my credit cards from online shopping and all that. Quarantine helped a lot because that then prevented me from going out and shopping. So hopefully with everything opening up will show that I've truly developed in that area lol
How'd you pay for the bills? Isn't being a college student difficult?
For me quarantine made it worse because I had to buy some stuff on the internet ( I couldn't get them anywhere) so I started to online shop. For example when I have to buy something on Amazon for school or so I buy other stuff as well that I have on my wish list 💀
That’s so weird, I feel like quarantine made me shop even more. I’m always shopping for clothes with the hopes of outside being opened . I make a lot of impulsive purchases, I had to unlink my card to my iCloud and I’ve been wanting everything I see now 🤣 but self control is pretty hard

I cant believe people actually think she has a shopping addiction. As a drug addict(I've been clean for years, but I'll always be an addict) I have never once thought shopping is a problem for Amber, she's got a great head on her shoulders and heart in her chest. She's by far one of the most deep, thoughtful CZcamsrs I follow💝💝💝

For drugs: they stop using drugs, and work on whatever is making them want to use in the first place(other than the physical addiction aspect) and work on coping mechanisms.
For shopping: they would probably stop shopping for anything that's not a necessity to live, and even with that they'd have to work on whatever was making them want to shop, and find other coping skills.

The way that you say "materialism is holding someones dream in your hands" actually made me think of the first time I learnt to respect buying stuff, fashion in particular, which happened when I watched The Devil Wears Prada. there are a lot of young women out there thinking that it's fine and quirky to spend all their money on things they cannot actually afford. that's not fine not quirky. investing and being aware of what you need versus what you want and the reason behind those reasons is the key. what Amber actually does is make money - she is paid for showing things off and act like she's genuinely buying them. it's her job. she's an advertiser (influencer). thank you for being transparent!
