- Regarding rain, this Axios article at www.axios.com/2024/04/05/atla... focuses on hurricanes in the Caribbean. We do not get hit by hurricanes, but they pass close enough to add rain to our reservoirs that support the Canal. They are a curse to many of our neighbors and we wish them no harm, but it will make a big difference here.
This Google English translation refers to an increase in passages through the
Canal scheduled for June 1 based on the expected increase in reservoir levels - www-prensa-com.translate.goog...
This Google English translation at www-prensa-com.translate.goog... refers to the Panama Canal Authority's $8.5 billion ($8,500 million in the Spanish system) for strengthening the Canal and what it offers clients by 2030, as well as providing additional drinking water for the public.
We have a lot of work ahead and we know it. If needed, Panama will likely draw skilled workers from other Latin American nations on an "as needed" basis. They don't find citizenship any easier than anyone else (which is NOT easy). They know they can be "last hired, first fired" but it is worth it to them. This article raises a problem, but it can and will be addressed. This issue underlines the need for serious improvements not just in education, but in the aspirations of youth. Finally a note on INCAE's new campus in Panama City. Google English again. www-laestrella-com-pa.transla...
Harry Iglesias, who helped keep me alive over the last few weeks, and I were delighted to be treated to a traditional Panamanian breakfast at El Trapiche. Our hosts, Isabela and Mustapha, were down from their homes in Canada. They will make excellent future neighbors for us all in Panama City. I was just out of the hospital and this was a wonderful way to start the recovery process!
If you are looking for the Panama Wave project that helps newcomers find homes in the Panama City metro area, visit PanamaWave.com. If you need help, Maurice Belanger and I are ready to do all we can.
David Nuñez continues his many "walking tours" at / @davidwalkingforyou . Worth a visit!
Glad you are feeling better! We tell everyone to leave politics (from other countries) at the border. But if you want to live in Panama, it's important to stay up to date on what's happening with Panama's politics.
My pleasure, Jackie! I hope to do it for another couple decades! :-)
So glad you’re feeling better! Thank you for keeping us posted!😃🇵🇦🤟

I missed you guys too!
Bob, so glad to hear that you have recovered but sorry that you have had such a miserable challenge. Good reporting on medical options in Panama but wish that you hadn't experienced it in such a drastic way. We need your kindness and wisdom with us for a lot longer 🥰
Thank you so much! Experience can be tough, but it's the best teacher.
Good job Bob, still a little long maybe a Part 3 would help. Any time l go to USA l always have a return ticket to Panama. Sure it’s got its own problems but some how the people continue to live through it all enjoy life. The 34 days of peaceful protests when a little to long because the economy shut down really hurt the hard working people of Panama and the out come with loss of the higher income jobs in the copper mine operation. I get a feel for the real economy by talking to the hot dog three wheelers vendors, restaurant owners and common people. Panamá will get through it all and hopefully the right people will be elected in Mays election. Looking for to returning to Panama soon. Keep getting your strength back and rest a lot.
Thank you for you Bob. So glad that you are recovered and back with us. You are so appreciated.
Thank you kindly, Paula! You and all my subscribers are every bit as appreciated, maybe even more!

I am working on it, Kathy! Doing my best.
Hello Bob, it's been a long time since we'd chat the last time. So sorry to hear you were sick my friend!, I know what an urinary infection feels like, near dead in my case at 22 yrs old.
Looking forward to visit Panama again, just waiting for the right tide to come my way...lol
Feel better and I wish you well Bob!!!😉👍
@tonyglive Thank you, Tony! Sorry to be slow getting to your message, but I'm still cleaning up after the UTI! A pain in the butt, as you know! Hope to see you here in days to come!
@@panamawave Dear Bob, God willing you will see me again in Panama!... looking forward to it my friend. Be well and feel better. thank you for responding!
Glad you are well now Bob! Thanks for all you do.
You are very welcome, Dianne.
I am very happy that you are aware and awake as to what is happening on this beautiful planet. Good times are just around the corner.
Thank you, Normand, although we can expect some potholes and other obstacles on the way. But that is always the human condition.
@@panamawave Thank goodness that the positive vibrations of humanity is rising.
Well old Bob so glad to hear from you. Didn’t want to brother you because of your illness, yes l know exactly the feeling you been through because l been under the knife twice before for prostate and kidney cancer from exposure to the interesting stuff during Desert Storm War. Every day l thought I was riding my last rodeo but somehow survived it all and finding my home in Panama. Sure it’s got problems but not like it here in USA. Let’s hope we don’t get too many coming to Panama and bring their politics with them. Let’s just be positive and live one day at a time and enjoy that. How is line 3 coming along? Have the landfill fires been finally put out? Bob watch out when it rains much at one time, our streets become new rivers and potholes fill up more bus size holes. Catch some pretty large fish there!
Well, Ed, we miss you! The shark in your pot hole asked after you this morning and I assured him you would return! I figure he's either lonely or hungry. I'll ask.
Glad that you are back and on the mend. Sounds like a miserable challenge Bob. I totally will support you if there is a paid option as well. You provide an intelligent, rational view for me.
You are very much welcome. Thank you for such kind words.
Glad you are well recovered Bob. And have a very Happy Birthday. In my younger years an MD who was a great influence used to say that "old age is not for wimps". He was correct and, one day when you get old, you can remember that.
Well, "old guy", at 79 in a few days, I am way too young to think in those terms!
@@panamawave Unboubtedly....but one day far far away you might get old.....
I will take my chances. Come to think of it, I don't have much choice!
Bob, wishing you the best .........
Thank you, Tom!
Bob'
You have been in my thoughts the last few days.''

Please take my money!
Give me a chance to give you something worth your money. I'm working on it!
