A few weeks ago I made a video where I began the journey to play through a level from EVERY country that's currently supported by, and has players, in Super Mario Maker 2. In the last stream I started with the most popular, and today we're continuing the journey, but this time with the countries that you don't see every time you play the game. All of the data for this was gathered and given to me by @DSteves, so definitely give him a look too!

There are a few scuffed country accounts that might be legitimate, like the sole person from Ukraine that had like 100+ WRs and First Clears, but they are far and few in between. There was also someone from the UAE at one point in the data who seemed legit but then when I pulled the data later they weren't found again

There are some Sammarinese levels (San Marino) because I know them personally but MM2 doesn't support their country so they say Italy since theyre a microstate enclaved by Italy. For what it's worth I can see what the most played level is amongst theirs and submit it directly since it's labeled italy but it's San Marino

It seems like Nintendo overestimated their market reach into former Soviet nations.
Nah, its actually just countries in the EU. All countries in the EU have eshop support
@@mricci07 I don't think that relates to my comment. 2 of the 3 "scuffed" countries were Kazakhstan, part of the former Soviet Union, and Mongolia which was effectively a puppet state of the Soviet Union for a while, then a client state. It applied for Soviet membership several times, but the Soviet Union didn't want to make an enemy of Maoist China at the time.
The joke was about the flags of actually playing countries being absent while former Soviet nations like Kazakhstan and Georgia have flags in the game that aren't seeing use. The reason Nintendo is unlikely to get market traction there is the difficulty entering markets in those areas, and I sincerely doubt Nintendo actually expected to need those flags. Most likely they threw in all the UN or Japanese recognized flags and a few random ones just didn't load.
@@Merennulli These countries dont have eShop support, they only have Flags ingame for an unknown reason. But you can use a glitch to use these flags ingame

Also I cant remember the source since I saw it from a few years ago but someone datamined a list of a total of 110 different country flags that exist in the game so there are potential for the other 45 countries (110-65) to exist but nobody has their account set up to be in that region or however it works
hey man, I am interested in these scuffed countries that currently exist, so if you can get the level codes for them and tell me that'd be greatly appreciated
im suprised they dont have flags for every country just in case, it wouldn't hurt, like just in case one guy in trinidad and tobago just decides to get a switch and mario maker 2, its definatley possible and it would not huurt

It's strange how San Marino isn't supported by MM2. I thought all European nations where supported. I guess the didn't bother to do the Microstates because they only have a population of like 3 anyways

If you search the Zambian level code it is now the Japanese flag with a completely different Mii

It's really sad that if you come from certain countries you can't play online if you don't play under a different flag. There are some players here in Iceland for instance but we have to play as people from other countries FeelsBatman. That's probably why this gets really scuffed in the end

This is probably my favorite SMM2 video I've watched! I'm one of the very few players from Cyprus, (the country that you mentioned has a cool flag) (not that cool it's literally exactly how the country looks) mentioned in 18:59 and was wondering how many other players from that country there were (:
Surprised Slovenia and Latvia have less than Malta and Cyprus. I thought for sure the latter two would have the least players out of the officially supported countries

It is, but it's fairly uncommon. I used to have an Irish flag but I had to change it to the UK one because I live in the North (I wasn't able to buy anything on the eshop otherwise)
