♥️ I remember my momma making these on Halloween for me every year . She’s 86 now : Good memories.
This is something that my grandmother did every single Halloween. I so miss her. Thanks for the recipe Paula.
Yes, you CAN put food coloring in the syrup! My grandmother used to make bite sized (really two bites!) green and red balls for our family Christmas party. They looked lovely displayed together on a platter! It is only now that I am older myself that I realize how much effort she put into the things she did to make things extra special for our family!
The last time I ate a candy popcorn treat, I had to have a tooth crowned. $1,200.
Ikr! These are for kids only!! LOL! 😬😁😋
Lmao their so goood though😋
Such good memories... gramma made these every year. My nephew will be here in a couple hours to help me make them and candy apples. Gotta keep tradition going !
When I was a kid, a million years ago, our neighbor made popcorn ball for Halloween. She always added a tiny bit of red food coloring to make pink balls. What a treat! We'd always try to visit her house twice, but were only allowed one ball per child! Lol. Thanks for the memories!
We have always added Jello to our recipe. Any flavor. Adds a nice change of Flavor. Add the amount to taste. Dry Jello powder.
My grandma added a box of jello powder to hers. It was pretty color and flavored. Was soooo fantastic
I can remember the stories my mom told us about my grandma being in the kitchen making these. Ty for the time travel. These are the times you cherish your memories. Bless you Happt Halloween you All
My favorite treat I got going trick or treating as a child was popcorn balls. You have to save these for parties now days. Love this. Thanks Paula.
Thank you what a sweet memory. I was just telling my husband this morning some wonderful memories of trick or treating as a kid. My next door neighbor made the best popcorn balls for her favorite neighborhood children (pretty much anyone living on our street.). She made them for Christmas too but added chopped up gum drops to the mix. She even enlisted me to help her make these when I big enough to actually be helpful.
Boy does this bring back memories. Makes me miss my Mom. She made these for me and the best part is she let me help her. Thanks for this Paula.
Good morning everyone, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Mmmm popcorn balls. I love Grandma Paul's Caramel corn. With the butter and brown sugar. That recipe can't be beat! Have a spooky day, y'all! Just got a half a foot of snow yesterday. How spooky is that!? 😵👻👹

Girl feel young again. This brings me back to my great grandmother (Katherine) when day's where much sweater and easier. Just as a side if you add a little food coloring it makes them really cool looking.

She said she really liked getting them at Halloween there was always one house in our neighborhood that would hand them out for trick or treat! we looked everywhere we cant find them in any store . Ms Paula, I have so enjoyed watching all your quarantine videos, ESPECIALLY the Halloween ones. I lost my mom 2 yrs ago and your videos make me think of all our old traditions and the old times. Now it’s time to make more traditions for my kids and future grands. Today, for Halloween, I made your Mt Dew Apple Cobbler and oh boy was it a hit out of the ballpark and beyond the parking lot. Thank you for all you do... your laughter and spirit are just the best. Love ya!
My grandma did the exact same thing every Halloween. I loved them! She gave us a bread bag full ♡
Thank you Paula! I always look forward to your videos! You brighten up the atmosphere !Miss being around down to earth (family)

Popcorn Balls! Brings back wonderful memories as a child. My mom would make them for us. They were delicious and so fun to eat!
This brings back memories. My mother was known for her popcorn balls at Halloween.
I generally spread butter on my hands when forming the balls. Great Halloween treats!
This is the traditional standard for every Halloween and I’m so glad to have your grandmother’s recipe. Somehow I didn’t get my mom’s recipe.
Paula: I watch you from Sinaloa Mexico. I retired and moved down here. When I was younger I relied on your recipes as a young wife and mother. The channels down here don’t have your show re-runs and I wanted to make your recipes for my grandson. Ever since I saw these I just flipped with excitement. Now I watch them with my 6yr old grandson and we make your recipes. Thank you because they your show my grandson and I have fun activities to bond with. Sending you spicy best dishes and love from Mexico. I’ll keep looking for your books down here🥰
My grandma made different colored popcorn balls when we were growing up. Delicious! I miss her 😢
Miss Paula we use food coloring in ours and it always comes out great. Love these videos!
I use food coloring every time I make popcorn balls. Works great!
Nice recipe. I don't know anyone who doesn't love popcorn balls. Do you remember Jeff Smith (aka 'The Frugal Gourmet')? He had a recipe for Soul-style Sweet Potatoes in his 'Cooks American' book that had an insane amount of sugar (5cups, I think)&a stick or 2 of butter, and when I made it there was always over a quart of liquid left over. We'd reduce it down and make popcorn balls with it. Thanks for sharing your Grandmother's recipe. Happy Halloween to y'all
Great Memories of this treat.... As Children I always loved to get a Popcorn ball for Halloween.... Thanks Paula for this week of Halloween treats.....
Made these for the first time after watching this video.it was a hit and everyone enjoyed them thank you
When I was a trick-or-treater back in the 1960s/early 70s, practically every year someone would hand out these homemade popcorn balls nicely wrapped in Halloween-themed cellophane. Out of caution, my mom wouldn't let us kids eat these homemade treats.
Thank you for the memories you’ve stirred. We always looked forward to visiting my Great Aunt Dot’s on Halloween. She always made us popcorn balls for our treat. She also made me a banana cake for my birthday the week before Halloween.
Lol Paula has a Halloween Witch laugh at the end..haha....
HAPPY HOLLOWEEN EVERYONE! THOSE POPCORN BALLS LOOKS AWESOMELY GOOD. HAVE A GOOD DAY.
Can't wait for Paula and the team Thanks Giving shows. 😀
Happy Halloween Paula and everyone, this Halloween recipe is a treasure Paula 🎃
My mother would make 4- 8 batches every Halloween. That was the treat every one got. and she would color each batch differently. Blue, green, yellow and Pink (red was never red). Everyone in the neighborhood knew that my mom had them every year. such good memories. We would butter our hands when making balls. Mom would wrap them in colored food wrap and tied ribbon at the top.
Brings back memories, our neighbor Mrs. Quinn would make these and pass out for Halloween 🎃
That is a wonderful recipe and especially at Halloween. Thanks!
Awesome video thanks 😊 I've always make my popcorn balls with marshmallows and butter mixture gonna have to try this one .
My mom also made these every Halloween. I' m excited to try to make them.

Happy Halloween 🎃👻 thanks for sharing this delicious recipe.
There were only a couple of houses that handed out homemade popcorn balls and I always made sure to hit those houses first before they ran out. I will definitely try this recipe😀
Those popcorn balls are so cute !! Ya'll are so much fun too !! Seems like I remember seeing different colored popcorn balls when I was a little girl. I had forgotten about that until you said that Paula. Happy Halloween....!! 🍃🎃🍃🎃🍃🎃🍃❤
My next door neighbor used to make these every Christmas for all the neighbors. She put red food coloring in half and green in the other half and it worked well. We loved her so much.
some candy thermometers have a slider, so you can read the numbers and line up the slider with your target temperature. That way you only need to match the metal slider to the red line.
I love it.!
Yum I'm making this today
Paula, my grandma used to make colored popcorn balls. It was usually orange ones for Halloween. Enjoy all your videos.
Glad to see you're back at it Ms. Paula!
Aww Miss Paula
This was so awesome love you and love that witchy laugh ❤

I remember you did this with your boys before I haven't done this in years will do Happy Halloween to you all take care 🎃🎃🎃🍿💜💜

Happy Halloween 👻 🎃 Mrs Paula. We love 💕 you to the moon 🌝 🌙 around the stars ✨ ⭐️ pass the sun 🌞 ☀️ and back to Mother Earth 🌍.
My mama made this every year and passed out to trick-or-treaters. Everyone came to my house on Halloween for my mom’s popcorn balls! It went on until the law was passed and you couldn’t pass out homemade food anymore. She really missed doing that.
Happy Halloween MissPaula and company, Popcorn Balls make the day Special 🎃
Thank you dear Paula
Now I’m getting ready for all the amazing Thanksgiving and Christmas videos I’m sure you’ll be doing hooray hooray
👍😁❤️💃🏼💃🏼👍
This Halloween Popcorn Balls recipe looks so delicious Paula.
My Momma added peanuts to the mix. Peanut Popcorn balls were a must have each Halloween.
My favorite. My Aunt use to make flavored Popcorn Balls out of Jello. I like plain & Orange, & Chocolate. You can put prizes in the middle for Partys.
Popcorn balls were my favorite treat when I was a kid
Ha thank you Paula Deen! Had fun watching your cornball making video w my daughter ( 7) Good times!
Love homemade popcorn balls 😁
Happy Halloween everyone! 🎃
Happy Halloween!
My sister made the popcorn ball for Halloween. Yum
My mother made popcorn balls for Halloween. I know she used Karo syrup, but I remember hers having a brownish color so I think she used molasses, too. She passed a few years ago so I guess I'll never really know her recipe. Good memories, though.
I think black food coloring added to the syrup, pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate and stuck in the balls, then candy eyes would make really cute but spooky spiders!
Love y’all
Oh Paula this brings back memories 🧡 my daddy (who was a cook in the army in World War II) use to make these every Halloween to hand out (at least until they were gone). He made them too and I remember watching him. They were best if eaten right after they were cool enough... yum 🎃
I've got two teens in braces, so if I made these I may have to eat them all by myself! 😉🎃
We used to make them with red and green food coloring at Christmas time.
We made them for Halloween when I was a kid. My Mother would put orange food coloring in it.
Happy Halloween 🎃
happy halloween and trick or treat!!
My mom coated her hands with butter while the Pop corn was warm. Plus.. it gave such a buttery flavor.
Love you Paula, happy Halloween
We used to butter our hands to handle the hot popcorn and it added a nice buttery taste.😁
Hi Paula. Did you use microwave popcorn, or did you use bagged? I have a big bag of popcorn but it is salty and buttery (the only way to have popcorn, LOL). I assume it has to be plain popcorn, correct?
