This was so much fun watching Eddie make that scary, edible snake! He has a splendid imagination. Just love it when he and Theresa are helping, especially in front of the camera! Her suggestion of having a 'snake making' contest would be delightful for adults as well as kids You could cast secret ballots and give the winner a fake snake and a glass of venom (lemonade, for example!

Loved your story how you scared the kids.
Quick story: I dressed up as a devil woman for work one year.....Got a phone call that my young teenage boys were cutting school.... left work on lunch and snuck in the house where I could hear a ton of boys laughing and talking down the hall. I opened up their bedroom door, startled them, and stood there with my hands on my hips. I had forgotten about being dressed as a devil woman, because I was in mom mode, and giving them that mom glare. Some of the boys were like... ummmm, I gotta go... I said, I don't think so. I made all 5 of the boys get in my van, and drove them to school, where I walked them all in and made them tell the principal they were skipping school. Principal pulled me aside after speaking to the boys and sending them to class, and said "Nice touch with the devil makeup, I would have been scared too". Lol A few years later, me and my boys were laughing about that day and they admitted that I was super scary looking and they were a little scared, even their friends were. Hahahahahaha.
That is too funny, girl! I bet they didn't skip again after that!

If you take a milk straw you can use that as the scales of the snake by gently pressing into the dough, use different sizes to get different markings.

Paula: I watch you from Sinaloa Mexico. I retired and moved down here. When I was younger I relied on your recipes as a young wife and mother. The channels down here don’t have your show re-runs and I wanted to make your recipes for my grandson. Ever since I saw these I just flipped with excitement. Now I watch them with my 6yr old grandson and we make your recipes. Thank you because they your show my grandson and I have fun activities to bond with. So creative Paula love to hear you adventure while cooking
Use a long loaf pan wilton. Use a sturdy # cake recipe. Favorite filling. Very stiff filling for frosting . coat with thin ganache white or chocolate. Then decorate. Cut cake and stagger and shape to a snake shape, fill frost , frost and glaze. Decorate. Here you go Paula! Btw a butter trivet is in the making!

In August I was gardening and putting out stakes for my tomatoes. We live in nm. I keep going back and forth when our little Pumpkin goes in front of my hand and gets struck by a rattlesnake. My baby saved my life. We miss her so much.

a little place by us sells bologna burgers! They cut a chunk of bologna about 1/2 inch thick, fry it up and add any hamburger fixing to it you could ever want! I've never tried it, but my kids get one every time they come home for a visit!

Great episode. I did the snake for a Specialty Teacher Halloween Party years ago and it was a hit. Be careful what plants you use to decorate your table with those Cutleaf Philodendrons are mildly toxic.

That snake was pretty cool. I will say it was great to finally get a good look of Eddie. We always hear the "man of few words"...he's so quiet and easy going sounding. But it was actually great to see him but his hands on some work and show his talents. Paula again....wonderful show and look forward each morning to see what you uploaded for that day. For a sweet snake, mix cream cheese, sugar and cinnamon. coat your dough Then put cherry pie filling down the middle and roll it up. Or use chunky cinnamon apple sauce. Or put chopped up candy bars. Or coat the inside with caramel and hazelnut spread and jumbo marshmellas. So so so many options.

As for the sweet snake maybe you could use cookie dough or puff pastry dough instead of the cresent roll. And fill with a cream cheese filling or a crepe filling! I will have to share this with a friend who's son was born on Halloween.

Your recipes and entertainment has really helped to brighten my days during Covid. . .Now I know what being a shut in is really like. . .
I've done a few sweet snakes. I used apple pie filling and blueberry pie filling. I smear a few tablespoons of softened cream cheese down, the put down the pie filling then dotted the pie filling with more cream cheese.

I believe this could be made into a candy cane for Christmas. Fill with Cream cheese, powdered sugar and an egg mixed together and then add fruits (maybe dried fruits) like cherries, apples, pineapple etc. I think that would be really good.

Anyone ever try a sweet roll version? The icing on top could be the snake colors and it was give it the slimy appearance of their real skin. Or do an apple pie version with the apples cut into small pieces....Wow, Paula a sweet snake version sounds amazing.
