On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. You can also fly legendary SPADS, Fokkers and Camels in WWI dogfights over the trenches of WWI and discover your inner Red Baron! And all of this can be experienced in jaw dropping virtual reality!
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. - Hry
Remember. There's a vertical component to flight in a helicopter. "Pop up - drop down" is also an option.
I was surprised at his tactics.
he seems to be approaching combat with the mindset of a fighter pilot where altitude is a good thing. should be spending most of your travel time hugging the ground and popping up to shoot and back down to utilize the terrain for cover.
Love it! I think that this kind of "encounter", where you have to fight against another human intelligence, takes these fights to another level. I loved it, and I would like to see more content like this, especially in missions with planes. I know that it is more "expensive", because you have to coordinate with another person, and coordinate the times of each other, etc. But I think it's worth it, because it makes combat development much more interesting!
@Slim Dim only cringe comment here is yours mate
You are very clearly a fighter pilot at heart! You were WAY too high most of the time and really didn't use terrain masking or cover to your advantage.
An Apache, or any other helicopter gun ship, is best thought of as a flying tank. They plan their movement - going from cover to cover. Firing from a hover after popping up from behind terrain is a much better plan than trolling around to see if you can find them once they shoot at you.
Interesting video and nice to see the increasing variety of ultra realistic platforms available in DCS, thanks for posting!
I am loving the apache content. The cockpit looks so freakin cool
The Apache cockpit reminds me so much of an X-Wing cockpit 😀 It's awesome in every way!
I would love to see some more of these "Helicopter vs intelligent assets" type of missions
anything versus intelligent assets but this in particular is new and interesting
That was fun. I was in the 101st and I watched first hand just how devastating the Apache truly is. Air Assault!
Got ya beat mate...my squad mate got to ride on one during a hot extract. I do mean on not in...look up commandos extraction by apache
Man these apache videos are reaaaally nice !
I really wanna a SEAD mission with LS and AV8B !
Great video. Whole different experience when going up against real players. Please do more.
I love your videos i was watching the Mig29 Bandit unknown when this video came out, thanks for the great content it realy makes my day better.
Seems like George could do with an intelligence upgrade too....That missile did a hell of a job tracking and killing that tank whilst it was hauling ass at high speed. Impressed !
Awesome!!! The distance sim’s have come is absolutely amazing! From Jane’s Falcon 4.0 being the most graphically advanced when I was a kid, to DCS, is awesome!
"I think we're safe, we're good, I got away"
"SA-8, 4 o'clock, launch"
😅
Great control on that bird, I've been flipping this thing too many times

If anyone is wondering why I was dropping flares for ATGMs its because I wasn't sure if it was an ATGM or a manpad I didn't see so just to be safe I would flare aswell, so please fight the urge to point out to me that ATGMs don't care about flares lol. Big thank you to Taco for helping with this video and I hope you guys enjoyed the video thank you all for watching and I'll see you in the next one. -
Loved the whole thing - SO much better to have targets that can effectively evade and threaten. Also liked that forward roll at the beginning!
Wow great control on the Apache there! Especially against those ATGMs
That was awesome, that sa-8 hauling ass to get into cover gave me a good chuckle. Would love to see more of this stuff maybe also from the other side, putting Longshot through the ringer maybe.
One of my absolute favorite videos of yours! So tense
Really cool and different. I would love to see more like this.
More of these kinds of videos please! Would also love to see engagements where you have a CPG and maybe a second apache team working together against a group of other players
I really enjoyed this and have sent it to several other folk. Made me subscribe.
You do some of the best Apache videos.... please do some more !
I just noticed the s hook dangling around in the cockpit. Little details like that are really cool
I have the same hooks in my chef's kitchen for hanging pots, pans and other accoutrements. They are a nice visual reference for doing coordinated turns and maintaining static hovers.
there's also a tiny round mirror in the gunner cockpit so the pilot and gunner can see each other.
I got a huge kick out of that first BMP kill. The way he just goes, "Shak!" with that little bit of laugh in it.
That Hellfire coming outta nowhere and just _maiming_ that BMP as it scuttled away for its life! Only in DCS lol😂🤣💥
These are definitely some of my favorite videos!
One of your best videos! Awesome.
These videos are so great man. Way underrated. Love the content!
I think it perfectly demonstrates how usefull F&F is. that u were required to continuesly lase the target made it unlikly that u win a straight duel with the SA 8. If u could pop up fire a missile and pop down again it would give u such a massive advantage that the engagment would basicly always go ur way if u are not getting ambushed and dont know where the AA is.
pretty sure thats what LOAL is about, lob a few missiles up and break cover when they hit apogee, lase the targets only then. gives the pilot time to relocate from the now known launch position and pop up somewhere else. as opposed to LOBL, lock on before launch, meaning a longer time exposed to counterfire
I laughed so hard at that missile impact at 5:03
The first interesting A-G DCS video I have ever seen
Super fun to watch and play these scenarios. Great vid.
That roll maneuver at 6:40 was godly lol
Love this format with human ground units. We play these flight sims, blissfully ignorant of the true lethality of human-controlled ground units.
That is a real and huge problem with games vs real life. A game can only get to a certain level of realism. It is always much less than doing it for real. In real life, while he was cruising around looking for the SAM, another same may have locked him up and bang. It is no fun in a game to be killed by an unseen piece of equipment but in real life most kills are by unseen equipment. You know there is a missile as it explodes against your aircraft. But, that would never be fun in a gaming scenario. But GS does make so many fun videos to watch. It is addictive!
Really enjoying the Apache content.
Loved it! Great Apache Action!
GS. Please don’t stop the dog fighting videos. I have learned a lot from them.
But please add videos with the Apache, like this to the rotation. Love it!
You’re the man. Keep it up!
Pretty awesome.
I used to play Gunship way the hell back in the day, and loved to fly the Apache in BF2...used to be pretty effective. Doubt I could do that anymore...because I'm old. LOL
This was awesome. Period.
i love the editing on the SA8 hit ^^
Really, really, really, loved this one!!! This was such a good idea for a video 👍
Excellent video. Thanks for the entertainment and instruction.
Another great video. Consider your butt is officially unpuckered with that gentle insertion of the SA-8. At least you landed in the snow to put some ice on it afterward.
I imagine how interesting it would be to have an appropriate IADS module
That was a great video. Wish more servers would allow the combined arms red control. That was cool
Recently discovered ur videos n I’m hooked!!
would be cool to see the apache hunting in the skyscrapers on the Persian gulf map. maybe even defending itself and or its friendlies from enemy strike aircraft. using the buildings as cover would be sweet. and as always awesome video.
really like the idea of fighting against human controlled units. this way Eagle dynamics might improve on Combined arms and make it more user friendly :)
a semi truck just casually doing its thing as a SA-8 and
apache are going at it... i love it lmao
this looks so fun, really entertaining to watch
Great video as always GS. Will you be doing anything with Longshot at all? I think you two would make a great Apache crew.
Awesome stuff GS
Love it! Great stuff!
You should do more with Combined Arms. That was intense!
GS’s thumbnails are mint asf. would love to use them as my desktop wallpaper if there wasnt any text on it ;)
I did not know that DCS ground assets (other than tanks) like mobile SAM units were human controllable. That is beyond awesome, it makes the cat and mouse game of ground attack _so_ much more interesting. Also I think the Apache is gonna really bust the helicopter part of DCS wide open. The fact that you're flying a fully aerobatic helicopter that has such a diverse loadout option is gonna make even hardcore fixed wing guys like me think seriously about dipping into some chopper action. Great video.
Loved this video. Thought it was interesting
Yeah that's good stuff, like you said increases the Pucker Factor.
I fucking loved the chuckle of success followed by the realization of a threat lmao
CA is absolutely useful in singleplayer as well. Especially in CAS missions!
Ha! Really enjoyed that vid looked like alot of fun!!
Great vid I'm still at the crashing into the ground stage with the 64 !
COOL!! I didn't know these missions, on other channels could have intelligent Defenders?? Wow!!
Apaches excelled at night missions. I would love to see that made possible someday.
That was fun to watch
SA-8 also has optical guidance as a backup.
Entertaining as usual! Made me lol a few times!
Enjoyable and nice player vs player Apache mission, enjoyed it and it was nice change from normal dogfights 🙂
Love the Apache videos
"alright I think we're safe, we're good"
"missle?"
The depth of field at like 8:02 is frickin' niiice.
Great concept. Intelligent opposition! Just like the dog fights!
Will the AH-64 be getting a Longbow radar? I clocked many hours on the Jane's simulator back in the day 😄
Yeah they're working on it I believe.
yeah, it already can have it mounted on the top it just doesn't do anything. in addition to radar functionality it will be receiving AGM-114L's which are the radar guided variant
I really enjoyed it.
Sick. More please!
That was dope. More like this. Props to Taco for giving you a run for your money. Woulda liked to see you get a guns kill tho. ;)
Need to have the chaff ready for radar guided missiles!
as if I don't watch these religiously enough. please do more like this!
Great video
Great content !!!!!
BMP: "oh no. I pissed it off. Shitshitshitshitshitshitshi-" *Hellfire hits*
i enjoyed this.
Love the hide and seek. I will watch more if you do it. Flip back and forth round for round.
This is why I hope Combined Arms will get a development boost and lure in new ground unit players.
love it
Taking your fighter pilot training and translating it to Apache helicopter flying. Awesome. How about one with the longbow? That should be awesome.
Great content! Here's an idea- you and Longshot clear out an area, infested by Taco troops.
The deadliest chopper ever created. What you maybe didn't realize is that the latest apache can control drones and can pick up and fire at the muzzle flashes of any enemy.
great - more please!
awesome
I think being in cover behind that mountain instead of cruising around in the open might've helped there. Sure, you're baiting missiles but also you definitely can find him from up there with a human CPG. That's another thing, you were really clearly hindered by having to tell George where to look, whereas if you had a human CPG, as soon as you had that missile launch from across the pond, he'd have found him and fired a nice high LOAL shot to get him through the trees even. Honestly, a vid with a competent CPG (like ya boi) would be cool.
Night mission, hover and creep up a hill overlooking a lake with SA 8s across the pond. Switch to Gunner (with xbox controller), and laser hellfire 8000m targets.
Interesting. Real people, real tactics, makes things much more interesting and challenging. However, in order to level the field a bit, you could do the same with a human CPG. Controlling George while trying to fly the Helo without hover modes is very demanding.
Please recreate the us military’s experiments of rotary wing vs fixed wing air to air combat
I should be doing homework, but this is way more interesting than math could ever be
Next time give him a tunsguska plz :) I love those guns.
First off I wanna say that I love your vids keep up the good work
Now today is day 61 of asking gs to fight the f22 in a warbird
NOW you need an inteligent Gunner :D
FUN!
Apache so cool that it can roll and fly upside down
I really think you should get 2 crews for this bird together so you both can laser des targets and really show off what the AH-64 can do.
Great cat and mouse. Say hello to my little friends, Rifle and Brrrrrt!
Id love to see you do a debrief with casmo having him nit pick tactics
