Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED skip u wrong on this. ONLY because your arguments could go for any player. RANDY MOSS got sent packing to by more then 5 teams. Not everyone thought he was a great teammate. Giving up on plays and you call him a first ballot HALL of Famer. Then why not T.O. ?

FINALLY! Skip must’ve read my comments and decided to address at least one of my points! LoL! His sources have always been invisible and imaginary aside from the highly publicized cases with the McNabbs and Hugh Douglases of the world. So today, he finally throws another name out- speaking of the 49ers LB Coach. But Skip, that’s one more. You said 50/50 in EVERY locker room. What Dallas players could you possibly be protecting right now?! None of the guys who played then are still playing, silly. Just be a damn man and admit that you sensationalized a lot of your claims because you’re a writer/analyst, and that’s what you get paid to do! Controversy sells. But here’s the problem... When people have said that Owens is a bad teammate, that’s the narrative that gets pushed, and it gets pushed HEAVILY. But anytime players say he’s a good teammate, you’re so dismissive. And your retort is to say “He’s polarizing and split teams down the middle.” You don’t highlight the good teammate side. We can literally do that with ANYBODY on ANY job! Do you really think that everyone at your studio likes you and thinks you’re a good coworker??? You’re polarizing, Skip. Half the people despise you and everything you say. And the people who like you don’t matter! That just means you’re polarizing and split the studio apart. Common sense, man. You don’t like the man. Having him on your show doesn’t mean that you like him. You use him for ratings. You didn’t bring him on those two shows to actually hear what he had to say. You very literally dismissed and discounted EVERYTHING that he said. You’d say, “That’s a fair point... I’ll give you that... BUT,” and then proceed to continue down the same exact road. Who are you fooling, and how do any of your tricks work on ANY adult with basic levels of common sense?! It’s baffling.

How can Skip have such a strong opinion on a man he doesn't truly know? Why does Skip take the word of the naysayers and downplay those who have good things to say about TO? Why doesn't Skip talk about how SF fared after TO left. How great was Jeff Garcia? How about Steve Mariucci? Why doesn't Skip mention that McNabb and Romo had career years when TO was there? Why does Skip always mention TO's dropped passes but when Wes Welker had one of his best years but also led the league in drops? No mention by Skip 🤷‍♂️

The thing about Skip is that he does say stuff to people's face. That's one of the things I appreciate about him. Whether it be Terrell Owens, Richard Sherman or even Chris Bosh. He doesn't back off what he said like most people do - example Colin Cowherd. He said so many vicious things about Baker Mayfield, but when Mayfield went to his show he acted like he never said anything that bad.

So no matter the character of a person, You "appreciate" that the person says what he says to people faces?...lol...Of course, he's white, no backlash or diss back.
As Terrell Owens mentioned about Edward Baseless, Edward is wrong. No one like Shannon stated Talks Great upon Terrell Owens when he is mentioned on the Good side as hyped as the bad side.

Colin Cowherd is also white and when he talks bad about people and then they come onto his show, his entire tune changes. Look at the Baker Mayfield interview on Cowherd's show and then look at the stuff Cowherd has said about Mayfield in general. For example: Cowherd has said, "Mayfield is just Johnny Manziel with a headband." When Mayfield came onto his show he said, "I've never said you were Johnny Manziel".

It's crazy how T.O is considered such a bad teammate that he was denied the HOF multiple times but meanwhile Brett Favre had no trouble getting in after he...
    - Refused to show up to training camp every year
    - Was interception prone throughout his career
    - Went to rehab 3 times
    - Refused to mentor Aaron Rodgers
    - Was accused and caught on tape sexually harassing an employee
UPDATE: He also stole $6 million in welfare funds from the poorest state in the country!

Iambigjones You can't really say it's white privilege because other black athletes (Moss, Lawrence Taylor, Warren Sapp) have gotten in despite numerous off field issues. Jerry Kramer is white and he had to wait over 40 years despite being a multiple time First Team All Pro, multiple NFL championships, 2 Super Bowl rings and being a member of the 50th Anniversary team. Why? Because the press didn't like him and they indulged their pettiness in the ugliest way possible.
Same thing happened with TO. The press didn't snub him because he was black, they snubbed because they didn't like him and were petty as sin.

THE NFL HOF should be ashamed of themselves. I’m proud of the fans of the NFL for truly being the ones who helped TO get in. I truly believe in my heart that if the committee didn’t get the backlash they received for not putting him in that he still wouldn’t be in. I don’t blame him for not going why show up to a party in which the hostess made it very clear that you weren’t welcome.

The behavior stuff is nonsense. I figure Skip would say this, he's the same type of guy who would've kept A.I. out of the hall of fame in the NBA.
Athletes always have peers who they don't like. A lot of players hate Kobe, I've heard players even talk about not liking LeBron in the NBA; there are a lot of players who don't like Tom Brady and think he's a cheat...but if you ask them are they hall of Famers, their peers almost say, yes.
This whole behavior angle that Skip is coming from, stems from the inherent inferiority complex that a lot of sport journalists have, where they have to believe that sports is more than just merit. They have to believe it's character, or humility, or good family values. But none of that matters to an athlete. All those things matter to journalists because it's a good way for them to feel superior to guys who they think can only achieve what they wish they could have, because they won the genetic lottery. "He might be one of the greatest NFL players in all time, but at least I can look at I handle myself in a much better manner than he does!"

TO got a raw deal when it came to being passed over on two HoF selections. As long as you haven't been convicted of some kind of heinous crime then you should be voted in off the merit of how you played on the field. TO does get in his own way as far as people disliking him. I heard him in interviews where he seems like a very smart and like-able person. Those interviews sadly are not seen by as many as the interviews with TO saying something to get him in the doghouse. I give him props for being honest; however, I think his problems is he is honest but he doesn't explain his point well and it comes off to many as being arrogant. The interview that Ed Mylett did with TO was a very good insight of how TO thinks. I wish we could have seen more of this TO.

Had he won one, they would've had to give him his props because all their complaints about his bad behavior would have seemed trivial and unimportant. It's because when an athlete doesn't win a ring, he leaves it to journalists to define his legacy and to explain to history what tragic flaw he had that prevented him from getting a ring.

He should have been 1st ballot. They kept him out because of his character, not because of his numbers. The good outweighed the bad by a landslide, yet people with off the field issues (i.e. Brett Favre, Randy Moss, etc.) went in first ballot. He wasn't first ballot because many of the sportswriters didn't like him, same reason why Charles Haley wasn't first ballot, despite being the first player to have 5 Super Bowl rings.
