You don't get a lot of games where you are the monster, or whatever you would call this thing. So it's nice to see a game that gives you that power and still gives you a challenge. All in all, this is a rare and well-made game. Nice

This game is awesome in concept and aesthetics. Something that could be a bit cool would be if evolutions slightly altered your appearance, like if the web one added webbing between your chunks.
Imagine different carrion creatures across the globe and you have campaigns that differ in tactics due to location with their own special twists/flavors!?

To be honest, this actually doesn't gross me out in the slightest. ...Probably because of the pixels.

The only thing that grosses me out is thinking about how it would be in real life from the point of view of a human. That creature is truly terrifying with all of its ability. And also intelligent as a human too.
The difference is. A carrion is operated and so equivalent to a single human mind.
With multiple people it increases the brainpower so to speak.
Making it technically harder for the carrion but the monkey wrench is the intellect of said people but regardless it would be in the humans’ (plural/non-monster) advantage.

This game makes me think of those videos of octopus escaping aquariums.
I remember very well a piece of cheese behaving like this upon opening my fridge back in my student days... It was far more vicious though. Luckily it discovered an outlet for it's aggression by finding a passion for arts and crafts. Knitted me a wonderful quilted throw. Still have it on my sofa to this very day!

This game reminds me of Prototype, but we're truly a sentient monster instead of human with wriggling tentacle-mass as power.

The player character of the first Prototype was the virus itself that had gained sentience and taken the form and identity of the original Mercer, and ironically ended up with more humanity than the real deal ever had.

Well since the monster is primarily Human and cannibals have said Human tastes like chicken. The monster must taste like chicken.
I think the movie "The Blob" was an inspiration for the developers.

I just realized the game gives hints to future enemies other things like how if you look at some of the mine carts and background you can see the walking bots way before you ever see them in combat they're just not built or they've been scrapped

With some work they could add an amazing multiplayer element, something like Friday the 13th.
