    Qatar has done an unparalleled job hosting the World Cup. They spent over $220 Billions.
    No other country can afford to spend near that amount of money to host the World Cup.
    The World Cup is a football tournament.
    It is a family show.
    It is NOT an LGBTQ exhibition.

      Qatar executes homosexuals.
      With that alone, there’s no telling what they’ll do to the influx of tourists from secular, liberal countries.
      Will they vet them? Will they scrutinize their social media? Will check their marital statuses?
      The point is you don’t know, so it’s worth asking whether LGBTQ+ fans are welcome or not.
      You’re making it seem like they want to throw a pride parade in the Qatari streets or like they’re asking a Christian church in America whether they’ll be okay with them having anal sex.

    I just returned after the group stage from Qatar and the hosting has been top notch. The English fans especially were very well-behaved. Lack of alcohol has been a blessing and we were able to enjoy the game and not deal with hooligans. Qataris are respectful people and they only ask for respect in return. I was pleasantly surprised and hope to return soon to Qatar for other sporting events.

    I am a Christian and for this i do stand with Qatar on this issue alone. Even the Bible states that the practice of homosexuality is a sin, it is just as when one practices adultery , idolatry, pornography, abuse of children , men and women in all forms, any exploitation of children, men and women and the list goes on . Sin is sin before The Almighty God. Being tempted is not a sin, but giving into that sinful temptation is a sin ( we all struggle with particular temptations, but when we all turn to seek God and pray, and seek truthful help we shall overcome and can overcome temptation) .       @@morsumroy8725 The thing is, France and other countries who make laws banning Hijab have a constitution that claims it doesn’t discriminate about religion or it’s freedom. Since it goes against the law, people could protest it. However, Muslim countries never stated that people have the right to “love whoever they want(gender-wise)” we never made it a freedom or a law. So it’s different.
      But I agree, if that is the culture(which it isn’t; the culture claims to be about freedom), Islamically we mustn’t stay. The Quran specifically speaks about a people who will enter hell because they remained in an oppressive land when Gods land is large enough for them to leave (of course unless they aren’t able to or if they can’t make their own decisions).

      @Adria Acc Of course I don’t support everything they do, but they have done so much good recently. And the migrant worker thing isn’t entirely true. My cousin is a migrant worker there and he loves it there. They pay them well. It’s just that a lot of migrant workers send so much of their income back home that they don’t have enough to live adequately. Of course it’s not perfect but it’s not like they describe.
