- Jenna McKeown visits Wyoming’s beautiful Wind River Country for the first time to fly fish on the many public small streams and rivers the region is blessed with. From Cutthroat to Brown Trout, we learn about the wide range of great fishing opportunities this area has to offer all anglers. Jenna is staying at Boysen State Park and the C&E Hunt Club, both of which are perfectly located in Wind River Country to provide easy access to the region's many rivers, lakes and small streams for trout fishing: wyoparks.wyo.gov/index.php/pl..., cehuntclub.com. One of my favorite episodes of yours. Nice to see less experienced anglers and some of the challenges. Plus small stream angling is about as challenging as it gets, but a lot of fun.
It’s cool to see someone new having a blast
Love it! We always think of the large amazing rivers in Wyoming. My passions lie "smaller". Thanks for sharing this!
Excellent video Jenna 🎣. Fishing is a learning curve, same as life. You learn by your mistakes. You try it once twice, then you change.
I so enjoyed this video. It was so fun to see you learn how to fish in Big Beautiful Wonderful Wyoming.
This state is my dream space. It as everything I want and love. If I could move there, I would go without even any doubt.
Then why don't you? Has everything you want but don't/can't move there? Makes no sense
There's like, no one there.
Have you been there? There is a reason they call it fly over country! But would have plenty of elbow room. Other than Yellowstone not pretty. But a trip to Yellowstone is well worth it! Watching a grizzly bear eat an elk on the side of the road. Awesome!
@@jessepruit8385 Yellowstone isn't even the prettiest part of Wyoming
a whole lot of private land and water that you can't fish... check out wy stream laws
Nicely done Jenna!
nothing beats a fall fishing trip to the rockies!
Excellent video! What Beautiful Cutties!
Beautiful cutt at 15:50. Very nicely done.
remember boys and girls...when it's hot...the trout are too. Don't keep them out of the water for long. I've seen a lot of Texans killing trout here in the mountains.
As a young fly fisherman, I love seeing young guides, would love to have Austin guide me someday soon
*no hate to older guides! I know they have a ton of knowledge!
Nice trip 💪🎣
Awesome. What weight rod were you using?
Some good casting. Small stream fishing really tests your resolve.
I noticed a lot of down stream casting, then stripping up stream which presents the fly in an unnatural way. You caught a lot of fish that way. How did you make that work.
I see a lot of people doing that and catch tons of fish.
Probably down and across streamer fishing.
Definitely try to hire a local or stay at a lodge that has a guide.
like that hand sanitizer on the pack thats a good idea
Love those small streams! Colorado is the place to go, though.
I agree. Do not come to Wyoming.
Yeah, wyoming is trash. Nothing to see there folks. If you want fly fishing in a beautiful space with ZERO people around, go fish colorado....😉
@@troymiller885 bahahahhahah
Yep wyoming sucks! He’s right. I would only go to colorado if I was any of you
I hate the word “technical” in fly fishing. It’s become an overused trope. Wind River Range is spectacular though.
There is damn near zero need for a traditional western fly rod out in wyoming on any small stream. A 11-13.5 foot triple zoom tenkara rod is by far the best tool for any fishing on smaller streams. Why carry a reel with 250yards of backing, 91feet of main line, just to cast 13feet away?lol
