- Be prepared to see Great Yarmouth as you’ve never seen it before as I take you on an off-season 4K walking tour of the ‘Golden Mile’. Located on the east coast of Norfolk, this classic seaside resort is best known for its beautiful long sandy beach, seafront amusements and of course the famous Pleasure Beach, which has the second oldest rollercoaster in the UK.
Usually a thriving tourist destination, on this cold March morning I get the WHOLE seafront to myself, so walk with me and see a completely different side to the usual hustle and bustle in summer! There is a huge range of fun things to do and places to see, and although most of them aren’t currently open, you can see why it is so popular for a short break in the UK. I explore the two classic piers, around the spectacular abandoned Winter Gardens, the sealife centre, the Model Village, the landscaped gardens and even the historic Hippodrome circus. There really are attractions for all the family here, rain or shine.
Although slightly eerie and quiet (and windy!), this was one of my favourite day trips so far since my CZcams adventures started!
If you don’t know me already, I’m Jack and I’m exploring the UK, making travel vlogs as I go. I’d be so grateful for your support, so please do like the video, leave a comment and subscribe to the channel!

Great video of our lovely town, you missed the Marina Centre, (I work there as a swim teacher) we have a cafe, inflatable area, clip and climb, swimming, aqua play and lots of other activities. Also, if you'd have carried on walking past the pier/cinema you would've got to the beautiful Winter Gardens, one of our favourite places to visit throughout the year.
Thank you so much! I’m sure I walked past the marina centre 😄I was a bit rushed as I had to get back to London on this day but that’s great to know for when I visit again
So sad to see the south denes now. In the 70s and 80s it was buzzing with caravans and the beach was amazing.
Next time I go I really need to check out the South Denes properly
We own a caravan at cherry tree parkdean not far from the pleasure beach. We love it and always pay great Yarmouth a visit. Fantastic 👍
Thanks for your comment, it really is a great place and I can’t wait to get back 😁
@@jackryanmiller also love gorelston beach,an absolute hidden gem👍👍
@@jackryanmiller also recommend visiting Sheringham, Cromer and Wells next the sea if you haven't been there already! Sheringham to Holt by steam railway is fantastic 👍
@@paulshorney3465 nice one, I’ve not been to any of those, but I defo had Cromer on my list for later this year. Will be sure to note the others down. Cheers
I love Great Yarmouth especially Wellington Pier it is a beautiful building and it is very special to me.
Yeh I really liked the Wellington Pier I wish I had spent longer on there!
Must be 30 years since I was last there, used to love the seafront. Favourite was Ripleys believe it or not, is that still there?
Oh wow I don’t think I saw that on my walk, although plenty of attractions like that. It really is a great seafront
No, it's not there anymore

Looks like it would be great in the summer, I'd be all over that adventure golf
Yeh man honestly the Sandy beach is incredible, sunbathe then a round of pirate golf in the summer
Heaven't been there for a while, really like the place. Another great video Jack.
Thanks so much John, this was my first visit in years so I could hardly remember any of it
Haven’t been here in years ,very well done video debs xx fan
Thanks so much Debs
A lovely video. As a local, I can say that there is definitely a different atmosphere in the Summer. We have some beautiful buildings. The Winter Gardens was closed as it was deemed unsafe due to the glass roof, however it has been given funding for a refurbishment. The building that was boarded up was the tourist information which has unfortunately been left. I would definitely recommend coming back and going to the circus, it’s amazing. During the show, the floor is lowered by hand and fills with water, then there are swimmers and performances in the water, they also have a small museum which is fascinating.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment. That’s good to know as I’ll definitely be back later this year. Good to hear about the winter gardens getting a refurbishment, it’s too grand a building not to be used at all 😁
Very dark
Everything on it’s arse…😂😂
Well it was windy and cold. I haven’t been to Great Yarmouth. I hope it is busier in the summer. Thanks Jack. Love your videos. 😊😊 very interesting. 😊
Ha ha that 🍩 man was definitely blown over on his arse 🤪thanks for your lovely comment
Love the way you give all the information with honesty. You always like a drink when you go. Best of all I like the overhead visuals.
I remember the pleasure Beach in the 70s so much better sorry but it's true.
I bet it was fabulous in the 70s
