Definitely agree modifications are a must to get this running properly. Condor makes a zipper insert for the kangaroo pouch. It’s like $30 for a 2 pack. It solves that issue. I’ve been running it hard for 4 years. I’ve had to replace the zipper strip once. Highly recommend it. Stay safe!
I may be a bit late but what I did for the Velcro is I bought one of the zipper strips online for me this works pretty good and quiet for me. I do use it for airsoft and Not police work but I play pretty aggressive so. -stay safe,
Personally i cut the hydration straps from the shulders and used them to cover parts of the velcrow on the admin pouch. It makes opening it much easier
On the back with any plate carrier with a cumberbun you should use paracord on the rear 4 corners to keep cumberbun to not slide. Secondly anything made by man can be broken so a needle and thread can do wonders. Thirdly not many external carriers can hold soft body armor of the full wrap type so the exo is a great carrier that can carry armour plates of 12 inch and 14 inch long variety.
i used 2 carabiners instead of paracord or zip ties for the back.. over time the paracord or zipties started to screw up the back molle i attached them to... other than that its held up surprisingly well over the past year of 12 hour shifts
It's a cheap carrier that did its job but it's far from great. You're looking at minimum $200 for anything decent. Trust me there's a big difference in quality
Agreed I take comfort in the fact that I'm completely encased in Kevlar with side panels added to it and that I can reinforce the armor with rifle plates.
I completely agree with everything you're saying. I had the same issues with the velcro on the front pouch and other areas. My biggest complaint is how hot this carrier get, it doesn't breathe well. Weight displacement is decent and all in all $75??? not too bad. good video
Look into safelife tactical molle carrier if you want a budget carrier...its almost perfect, I'll make a video hopefully soon about it. There are a few issues though
Im not and I wouldn't unless you're running light weight plates. I would not trust the stitching on this vest to support heavy plates. Not to mention to access it you have to remove everything to put them in. Look into other options on the market
Thank you reviewing this carrier. Is CPD starting to get away from the traditional class A/B uniforms? I see a bunch of videos of CPD officers wearing blue jeans, whatever shirt or hoodie/jacket, and this type of carrier.
Sully cpd has allowed a molle style carrier to be utilized since they approved the certification of officers to carry carbines. You have a choice to wear molle style carrier with nylon duty gear or conventional black vest with leather duty belt. This particular carrier is technically not authorised per order however it's cheaper than the custom made uniform store carrier. IMO neither was made to perform well in day to day duty use, there are better systems out there. Hope this helps
Sully also to further answer your question, traditional uniforms are still utilized with your choice of a carrier. The jeans and shirt look is used by city wide units, specialized units, and district level tactical units (in a nutshell)

About to pick one of these up to use level III+ steel plates and my dept issued level II SPEAR/BALC soft armor. Thanks for the vid!

How did you fix the wings from flapping around?
What are some higher quality options, has anyone modified these to make the hard plate sit higher.?
Serious question: Can it take both soft armor panels (the larger ones and not the plate sized ones) and plates?
Can it? Yes... would I rock some in this carrier? No...I wouldn't trust the stitching to hold the weight and repeated motion
Was thinking about getting this but now I’m re considering. Guess I’ll be sticking with my molle from VCG!

What did you use to fix the flaps to keep from moving around? Thanks in advance.
I sewed mine with upholstery thread.
You can adjust it in the back so the flaps don't ride up
What size plates are you running?
Im not and I wouldn't unless you're running light weight plates. I would not trust the stitching on this vest to support heavy plates. Not to mention to access it you have to remove everything to put them in. Look into other options on the market

I have point blank concealable soft armor. Will it fit in this carrier?
Yes depending on size, my point blank fit fine but some sizes might not
Behold. The answer I have been searching for!
Thanks!!!
