Congrats Pastor Rollins on your sobriety! I run toward Step 7 by humbly asking God to remove all of my character defects along with the step's biblical equivalent: "If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just, will forgive us of our sins, and purify us of all unrighteousness." -- 1 John 1:9. Put another way: "If we confess our sins (and have a true and authentic relationship with God, we will believe and know that) God is faithful and just, will forgive us of our sins, and purify us of all unrighteousness."
