- Believe it or not, one of the featured attractions at Taboo Tuesday 2005 was set to be Stone Cold Steve Austin’s first official match in a WWE ring in almost three years. However, that is not what ended up happening, with the Texas Rattlesnake failing to fulfil his apparent obligation...

Man Jim Ross was humiliated for really no reason by Vince and his cronies. It’s some of the worst television that WWE puts on back then. Good ole JR deserved way better.
I agree man. Hated it always did.
How is it possible that, while working in television for decades, there only appears to be two photos of Kevin Dunn that have ever been taken?
3 now following the TKO merger.
Very true 😂😂
He was in that tough enough show. He even said Jim Morrison was an embarrassment during his tryout
@@dennisbowen452 Jim Morrison… from The Doors?
I’m just kidding around. 🙂 I actually do remember Kevin appearing on that show.
He's not exactly the most photogenic guy. Cornette doesnt refer to him as "Bucky Beaver" for no reason.
It's kind of crazy how taboo Tuesday isn't a thing in today's social media landscape. It's so easy to guide the matches anyways
...but even easier for "fans" to use bots to game the outcomes.
@Droothr bots notwithstanding, I'd assume most of the outcomes were rigged by wwe anyways 🤣 besides how many of them were made super obvious to sway one result
@@mpennettaccording to Jericho the results were legit. The referee told him in the ring who he’d face for the intercontinental title at Taboo 2004, he and Shelton Benjamin called the entire match in the ring.
@@thebaker525that's according to Jericho though, so take it with a grain of salt
It never fails to baffle me how much and how often the WWE has shat on Jim Ross when he's never shown anything but loyalty to the company and has been an incredible asset to the point that even casual fans start doing impressions of him when they think "pro wrestling".
I think it boils down to the fact that Vince just sucks. Simple as that. He gave Cole hell too despite him working for the company for 20+ years.
Go figure Kevin Dunn is at the core of why JR was removed. Good riddance. Long live PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING.
Hey, we ended up getting Vader not going up for a Batista Bomb and Batista audibly yelling “F*CK!” at him out of this, which was an all-time unintentionally hilarious moment 😂🤣
I bet the "nurse" wasn't let off the table when the camera stopped rolling either.
Maybe she's part of the lawsuit
@@djtrankilo231 I wouldn't dare bet against that.
The Austin/Coach debacle is one of my favorite "how it started/how it ended" in all of wrestling
8:11 "Mae Young's other hand" is actually hilarious
Yeah, Mark Henry had one-sided sex with JR and put a child in his butt lol when he's at home recovering from a very serious illness 😐😒🙄
I kno who she is, but why would her other hand be up jr ass?
“Oooooh… it’s soooo taboo”
was my response when I first heard the name of this PPV in 2005 - and is still my response today. 🙂
Taboo Tuesday-Named after Vince's failed Incest angle idea
Hearing stories like these make me even happier that those days are behind us. It should be criminal that Vince lasted as long as he did in the business.
An authoritative figure who created a universe, only to be removed from it and it be strongly carried on by figureheads who, without him, wouldn't have been anywhere near that position of power. He really is like God...
He acquired monopoly over the business that allowed him substantial leeway to exercise his authority over the product.
Let alone monopoly, he was instrumental in making wrestling into a giant empire / business in the first place.
@@parthivchakraborty8253 and his authority over the product, frankly sucked. Hard. Especially in more modern years. None of that takes anything away from him being a horrible person that deserves to be out of the business entirely.
@@YourDadYoda indeed.
He was out of touch with the modern era except for some of the few key takeaways.
Honestly every time Austin didn’t want to do a job he had a perfectly valid reason
facts and it's funny how morons don't understand that
I actually game him a “HELL YEAH!!” lol
Taboo Tuesday would be hilarious now.
To be fair, Taboo Tuesday could be an NXT special.
@@TakerKaneanite619 good idea
Flair vs Triple H cage match was awesome
The dummy JR head looked less like JR than it did like Ed Ferrara as Oklahoma.
Jack!
You are awesome!
You do a great narration as well as the bits inbetween!
Always a joy to see the vids!
This is a terrific series with giving us "Nerds" the intimate details! Keep it up gents!
The following year, Taboo Tuesday became Cyber Sunday.
Think we had one more. But yes
I was at this PPV. I had ring side seats and still have the comparative chair.
Haven't even watched the video yet & I still don't blame Austin for walking out in '02 or not jobbing to Coach in '05. Seems like more Vince idiocy, if anything. If he'd put over Brock already then you'd already know he was going to win the title. Plus why would Steve be in a KOTR qualifier anyway?.. What would putting Coach over achieve, either?.. He was never going to win a title or something.. 🤦♂️
Exactly
Wake me for Taboo Threesday.
I think a slight rename would be appropriate since it was all Stone Cold, Jim Ross & Coach situation and barely covering the ppv itself at all
UK "wrestling" channels gotta bait those clicks!
Yeah I'm a little bit disappointed, I would have loved to know how this PPV idea came about and why it vanished after only a few years. This should have been titled "The True Story of Stone Cold's failed 2005 return" or something.
That closeup showed how uncomfortable to the core Linda was towards the whole storyline. Yeesh.
Love the documentary series. So many to pick from!
Really enjoy Jack bringing a little of the Weirdest Episodes energy to this.
😄👍
So kane doesn't get a win over stone cold but the coach does? Vince has always been out of his mind.
Lacks context. Austin was fine losing to Brock, but he wanted it to MEAN something, and not be a nothing match on Free TV. He had a point. Put that match on PPV and they could make bank.
Fair play jack your video's are top notch, thank you 😊
The irony of having a PPV named Taboo Tuesday with the events that transpired from it.
Mike Goldberg also didn’t know anything about MMA either
Anyone know the name of the track in the background that starts at 1:10?
Great videos today Cultaholic
I remember this quite well.
They should bring this ppv back
0:42 hell yeah
There you go
6:10 Hear the name Goldberg, look down, dude is doing the hand rub.
Way to make me feel like Nostradamus
There are some segments that you watch and wonder how anyone could continue watching WWE. Dr. Heiney is right at the top
Can u imagine Cory graves going over Roman reigns due to interference from Bronson reed, 2020 big show, and velveteen dream????? Yea me neither………
Thank For the Story Video and God blessed You 📖🙊🤯🥰😍😁🤩💗💐🌟🥇🏆😇🙏🏿🕊️✝️🤍🌟🥇🏆
I had no idea this happened
Taboo Tuesday as a PPV title hits different today.
Looking back at these insane Vince ideas it begs the question if he had some descent into madness or whether he was always a lunatic who just got lucky with a few decisions and his Dad's business.
JR is probably chuffed that ole Vinny is out of WWE and in the mess he's in now
For the life of me, no matter how hard I try, I cannot come up with any damn reason on why someone would treat JR like they did. Pisses me off to see a literal legend get treated with such disrespect from the people he was so loyal to. Deserved better, much better.
Can't blame Austin one bit. Being told to lose to Coach had to have felt like a slap in the face for him.
This is why not knowing is always better. While I would be lying if I say that I remember the events but watching this video did jog my memory, and I don't remember having any issues with the angle.
I do remember Dr Heiney, and while I didn't realize why the segment was happening, it was funny to me.
Awesome video boys!
7:10 that doesn't look like beer...
Looks like Vince's sauce.
I was there front row!
So awesome now that Bucky Beaver is gone and haven't had to hear the word sports entrainment since
Hell yeah
good video
This was an episode about taboo Tuesday?
Crazy to think that they want SCSA back just to lose to Coach
Let’s all raise a glass to SmackDown’s #1 announcer, Funaki
All this happens with Taboo Tuesday and we lost Eddie within two weeks.
Yeah I think the real sticking point for him was his friend Ross...as soon as they said he was not getting his job back Austin was like f THIS and I cant blame him. Vince was just stupid with creative ideas at time
thanks!
With all due respect to JR...when was he ever like super in shape?
7:10
That doesn't look like beer 🤔
I hope Coach ended that “because it was beneath him” statement with “because it was”. I love Goldust and Vader but he's Stone fucking Cold should've been every heel in the locker room for it to be worth it
Hell yeah!! (Nervous laugh)
Hell Yeah
Remember that there are no WWE returns in Canada because it could be a huge thing!
STORYTIME! ❤
I hecking love me some Jack videos!
Reading JRs books… Vince was really nice to Jim numerous times throughout his career behind the scenes… but then ruins it all by his unnecessary humiliation on TV
I feel like the TV stuff were stupid Kevin Dunn ideas and since Vince and Kevin have this weird f’ed up bromance, they always got cleared for TV. It makes no sense why Vince would constantly rehire JR or make him head of talent relations if he actually hated him, whereas I can believe Kevin Dunn was an actual prick with a perceived ax to grind
Another work. If you believe this was real, you probably think Montreal Screwjob was real too. 😊
Coach says Austin didn't do the match because he felt it was beneath him. IT WAS. Way beneath him to the point that its laughable that coach would come even remotely close even with help. Austin already had the screwy match losing to Shane and Vince and this would have been just as stupid.
Honestly looking back on half the stuff McMahon put on his shows he's always been a weird ass creep, but the stories of what didn't get allowed are even more screwed.
Hell Yeah!
Man, Vince really was a weird one, wasn't he? 🙃
thank god these dark times are over.
Jack on crack
I’m a nobody and I wouldn’t put over Coachman either.
Stuff like this just really points home how much better WWE is without Vince any more. A total parasite on the company, especially after the heyday of the attitude era had been and gone. Actually trying to have Coachman beat a returning Steve Austin lol, one of the most Vince things I've ever heard.
Hell yeah!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
As Corny would put it, this time in WWE was the drizzling shits.
I'm starting to think this Vince McMahon guy isn't exactly the greatest person
Jim Ross deserved So Much better from Vince and WWE.🤦♂️
Alternate title for this video. Reason Vince McMahon is an absolute garbage human being #34,207,912
HELL YEAH heheheh yeah
I remember this nc 👍👍
It blows my mind how much resentment JR holds over the Dr. Heinie thing. All things considered, it was a pretty mild skit for that era in wrestling.
JR bums me out. He’s widely considered the best, or certainly ONE of the best, that has ever worked in his position. He has healthy grown children. He had a wonderful relationship with his wife before her tragic passing. He’s beloved by the wrestling community…. All of that…but he has to be one of the most miserable people
I’ve ever listened to. I had to give up on his podcast. The dude is in his golden years… at this point in his life, it’s unlikely he’ll ever experience contentment in his life if he hasn’t yet. Daddy issues ruined him.
OMG, thanks TripleH for the new era. A brief reminder of what happened in the previous one is SO painful.
Oh but you fans were so quick to embrace the Ruthless Aggression Era cuz it featured more wrasslin' and ignored its more seedier moments that you then turn around and hypocritically shit on the Attitude Era for.
Yeah thank HHH for the Era that has record low ratings and has become culturally irrelevant! 🤦♂️

Shorter wrestlers unrealistically pushed as main eventers,

nah. it was the precursor to the PG era, which is everything you said there. Same with the Reality era. , but now we're in a new era.
