Very helpfull. I wouldn't have thought about only using the front loop for the brim and the added slip stitches for extra stability are very clever. I only want to point out that pulling the center of the squares wont work, since you started with a slip knot instead of a magic ring. If somebody prefers the center of the squares closed they'd have to use a magic ring and work into that instead the chains. Overall I think I'll take this video as an inspiration for a garden hat. You can do so many different styles by just changing the colours and the patterns of the squares.

If the first round has 8 sts, then from there you will know the rest of the rounds stitch count: Round 1 - 8 sts Round 2 - 16 sts Round 3 - 24 sts Round 4 - 32 sts Round 5 - 40 sts Round 6 - 48 sts Round 7 - 56 sts Round 8 - 64 sts For the written pattern, I do some but not all my videos and this one is on my list too. But I didn't have time yet.
I made my first one for a friend as a gift. Now I’m making one for myself! I never was a fan of bucket hats until I saw how cute it turned out!
