Turtles in Time is another beat em' up I would add to this list. Probably my favorite beat em' up ever and it can be completed in about 45ish minutes. Really liked this video idea!
I got down to 24 minutes at one point. Raphael is OP
30 minutes with Leo was my best... did it once. I would play tmnt 4 everyday after school.
It's all about Raph man. He's a glass cannon but he wrecks bosses and one shot's a couple of enemies. That running kick you can do with special is the strongest move in the game. For everything else do the smash throw to clear screens quickly.
This game is probably the one I retroactively am most jealous about, being a Sega kid back in the day. I didn't even know there was a turtles best em up for mega drive, but even then I've played both since, and the SNES one is the equal joint best console best em up with streets of rage 2. Wish I had turtles in time back in the day, and a snes as well as my mega drive.
I scrolled down to comments just to make sure tmnt turts in time got a mention because it’s a half hour play through with coop.
That Go Go Ackman character looks like a lot with Trunks from Dragon Ball saga.
The character designs were done by Akira Toriyama, who is famous for DBZ and a Dr. Slump.
Just letting everyone know
It's based on a manga by Akira Toriyama.
That explains why
Looks like kid Trunks had his own "Saiyaman" phase he doesn't like to talk about...😂
Metalders i heard the guy that played wolverine has a Huge Ackman
This is still the best gaming channel, out there. Awesome idea. You should make a sequel, for sure. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Psycho Dream has character art by Marino Nishizaki and was going to be released on the SNES in the West as Dream Probe, but was never released (alongside The Journey Home, which was going to be a localized version of Neugier) due to its publisher Renovation being bought by Sega. Aero Fighters (aka Sonic Wings) was an arcade port, and I remember playing the arcade game when I was living in my second household.
I remember seeing official Western artwork for Psycho Dream online. Too bad it wasn't released, it's a weirdly interesting game, and the SNES could use more straight up action platformers.
I watched your video as meticulously as I usually do, writing down the games that interest me on a post-it note.
Then afterward I scrolled down to 'Like' and realized I wrote down most of the games listed in the description!
Cheers Bud! Great video as usual. :)
Wow! This video was great. Now that I'm older and don't have as much time to play games I will definetely check some of these out. Keep up the great work.
I just wanna say thank you. Your videos are always my first choice when picking what to watch. You help me fine new games that I want to try or get for my collection.
Thanks for watching
Whenever I watch your videos, in another tab I either have eBay up searching for your recommended titles, or Emu Paradise to download the roms.
You rock, SNES drunk. Keep on rockin'.
Thanks for watching
Major Tom Emu paradise still works??
@@CubNole
No it doesn't work for ROMs or ISOs anymore. Use Rom-Depot or something.
You can use the eye for snes emulation
Love the subtle (Play these games any way you can) hint to emulation
Great topic for a video. I look forward to more creative and different angles to look at retro games from this channel.
This channel is awesome. It deserves more subscribers!!
thanks for making this! im looking to beat more games on stream and this is right up my alley for time! thanks a bunch!
I would love another one of these man! Love your work!
I love this idea, and of course your awesome channel. The Go Go Ackman games are just fun, solid if not remarkable. Everyone should play at least one of them. I need a copy of Psycho Dream, it looks great.
Thank you so much, SNESdrunk! I love your vids!
There was a Super Famicom release of Dragon Quest I&II, Dragon Quest 1 is an RPG you can finish in like 10 hours
The SNES port, definitely. Doesn't require as much grinding as the NES original. Mind you, it still requires grinding
My sister and I recently played and finished Kirby Super Star and adored the gameplay.
Then my dad and I eventually finished Goof Troop together, but-while it was plenty fun- it was not a quick play through for us ;-)
Great video!
I love your videos. You make the world a happier place. We need that right now.
Lurked this channel for awhile.
Love the juicy content: subbed! 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
More of these for other consoles!
Thanks for another great video!
Awesome video. Making me less hesitant to dive into some of those RPGs now: Gunman's Proof, Lagoon, and Alcahest namely.
Want another fast and fun beat-em-up? Battletoads & Double Dragon. Ironically, combining two hard-as-nails games resulted in one that's a bit easier. It's still a blast though. My brother and I can beat it in about a half-hour as two-player co-op.
You nailed it again! Great job!
Love this idea for a video. Because for those who work and all that, they just want quick games here and there.
I think your channel is the only one where I watch every single video all the way through, love the quick fire approach, top work👍
It's extremely nice, in the era of 10+ minute videos to sometimes 25 minute or more videos to have a quick, 3-8 minute video (I know this video is 9:15 but it's longer than the average SNESdrunk video, and yet still to-the-point) discussing positive and negative aspects of games from someone who has a deep interest in them. It's both succinct and as comprehensive as it needs to be. I wish I could find more quality videos like these.
Another awesome video Snes Drunk, keep it up!
Sorry dude but your voice is so relaxing and doesn't sound drunk at all... good content. I watch and like every video you make.
So much love for bringing up Lagoon! This game haunted my past for years - couldn't beat that damned white bird thing at the very end. Until I wound up buying the game used years after the SNES went the way of the dodo and finally beat it. Man the music was something else... the pre-title cinematics' theme/the game's main theme is soooo metal...
But dat tootpik tho x_x
Great idea for a video Drunk, very helpful! I am always playing some epic 80+ hours since I love RPGs and hard platform/brawler games which demands lots of memorization. I love them deeply but sometimes it is too much. Probably lots of people here feels the same.
Good to see your channel growing really big, man! Cheers!
Cheers
This is a great idea for a list, thanks.
I was wondering if you could do a list of the relaxing games to play. You know when you get off work late and got a beer in your hand and you just want to kick back and chill.
This was a great idea, I've got a massive pile of shame that I should really be doing more about, and knowing which games I can beat quickly will be a big help. I would add "Sanrio World Smash Ball!", my first Super Famicom import, which I bought because this channel recommended it in one of those import-friendly lists. It's a game that's probably in multiplayer (I've unfortunately never had the chance), but it does have a single player mode, which I believe I cleared in just an hour or two.
Great video drunk your still knocking them out of the park. Homerun touch down and goal. Love me some drunk vids.
I love quick games! They still give you that sweet sense of accomplishment.
About time you talked about these games!
You have a very underrated channel. Love all the content you bring. Hope you hit 100k soon.
Thanks for watching Joe
This is a unique idea for a list! These sound like good games for beginners, so it's a handy resource.
You're a handy resource.
Great suggestions - thank you!!
Thank you for watching
Love your videos Snesdrunkkkk 🎮😎🤝
Another Japan only game I'd suggest is Majuu Ou. It's got a pretty dark, bloody artstyle and a dark story. It's a SOLID action platformer, and I've beaten it several times
Good video! Buster, Goof Troop, and Aladdin were great for a shorter game fix!
Man! Videos like this really adds to life! Really pay out the internet bill. I'm glad I've found this channel totally accidentally
Yep! Just a dollar or more and you can recommend a game, watch the videos one week before and every month there is a cartridge giveaway, the last giveaway was Soul Blazer, cool! Huh?
Great List! I just don't have time to commit to super long games any more. I'll be giving these a try when I have a hour to spare.
Great list, glad Run Saber is on here, great game
OMG I haven't seen Goof Troop since I was a little kid playing it! I didn't remember it existed until right now. Great game
It's such a shame that Run Saber is so short although maybe that's part of it's charm. Great game!
Great video!
AMAZING! tysm gonna try to stream a bunch of these.
havent played a handful of em!
Awesome game list as always gotta try a lot of games on SNES
you made me go find that bonkers theme song. I haven't heard of Bonkers in LOOOOOOONG time
Totally nuts
you have such an extensive knowledge of these games that a nerd like me has to respect!
Good, good video! Will be waiting for part 2 in a future :) Or how about a similar video, but for Genesis?
Nice list, taking notes.
Great topic for a video 👍👍
It's early in the morning and I'm already SNESdrunk!!!
4:20
I love how you tried to slide there lol.
I remember Super Mario RPG being pretty short if you go a straight path to the boss. Also Chip and Chap is pretty short as fast to complete, but also a lot of fun to play.
I used to rent Tiny Toons out from Chartbusters. These videos are jogging old memories!
Surprised not to see any Mega Man games, I guess with their challenge and first-timer "gotta figure out weaknesses and upgrade locations" aspects they can take hours on the first go, but once you're experienced they're 30-60 minute romps, and some of the best out there. Also surprised not to see Mario RPG as one of the shorter and simpler but still wholly satisfying RPGs on the system, as well as Robotrek which is quite short for the genre and a hidden gem of unique fun IMHO... or games you can just pop in for a few minutes of fun without having to go through the whole game like Tetris Attack, F-Zero or Mario Kart. Of course, you do have a way of showcasing the less-obvious which is a good thing, but I'm just saying there's plenty of material for future episodes of this, it's a great idea :P
Robotrek is a nice game but wayyy too grindy for a list like this, especially toward the end
My go-to favorites for short sessions on SNES: Wild Guns and Ninja Warriors Again. And if you dig it, there's a remastered and absolute incredible Wild Guns Reloaded and The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors! Also really enjoy The Return of Double Dragon. It's not for everyone but I happen to find the slower and more methodical game play very engaging and satisfying and the soundtrack is totally rad!
I was going to say Hyperzone! It was one of the first games I got on the SNES as a kid, and whenever I didn't have enough time to get into anything deep, I would always pick it it up. It's fantastic.
5:19 I have had this game on the tip of my tongue FOR. YEARS. I played the wheels off of it, as a kid. Thanks!
BTW: thanks for this wonderful channel.
Chrono Trigger...short on TIME...you sly beast.
Dude, so true about FF Mystic Quest.
Good stuff. I will have to checkout Alcahest!
good games for chill in quarentine days
Yay, a Darius shoutout!
I like that after every video he says hope you have a good day :)
THANK YOU so much for making this. i absolutely HATE hard games especially in today's generation where game genie doesn't even exist. at least on snes that option is there making gameplay quicker but these games are nice that i can just pick up and play and not feel like i am actually working at something instead of just being entertained.
Adding this to watch later there's a couple of games I'm interested in playing on here...
That last game, Gunman's Proof looks awesome
I'm an average guy. I see a SNESDrunk video, I hit the like button
Damn dude i totally forgot about Lagoon...thanks for reminding me about this game wow.
If you do another of these, maybe add Super Chase HQ to the list. It's quite fun, quite short and I can't think of another game quite like it on SNES.
I remember Bonkers. Loved that game as a kid.
Gunman's Proof, or Gunple, is really fun to play. I loved the game. And the soundtrack? One of the best from the SNES era.
I already see a part 2, 3, 4... nice topic, thought!
A couple of other honorable mentions: Aero The Acrobat; Road Runner’s Death Valley Rally; Rock and Roll Racing; TMNT IV: Turtles in Time. All 4 are pretty straight forward, simplistic enough, and can be beat within an hour.
Two honorable, albeit slightly longer games would be Act Raiser and Soul Blazer. They’re, again, not overly challenging and can be beat in roughly 2 and a half hours.
The RPG list was solid: any shorter RPGs (Arcana, Paladin’s Quest, Y’s III) require a fair amount of skill and knowledge of the game to make them “short”.
Pretty good list. I would probably also stick Zelda AlttP in there, maybe it's because I've played it so much..but I can always knock that one out in several hours these days.
Super Mario RPG is a bit on the short side too. Damn I love that game!
i like this guys videos
I love seeing Super Famicom exclusive titles on these lists that I have actually played. So many good games that never made it over here. It's kind of a shame really.
Gonna try some of these games
Great video thank you y
- Super Mario World (if you use the Special World)
- Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 from Allstars (if you use the warp system)
I'm amazed you didn't mention Mario RPG or Spike McFang for RPGs.
Spike McFang is particularly short and can probably be beaten in 5 hours or less if you grind in the right areas, and Mario RPG has a lot of side content and mini games, but it also can be beaten in a few hours
Dude u made me remind gogo ackman... it was so fkn fun...
The Capcom Alladin was the first game I ever beat as a kid. But it took me THREE YEARS. That damn carpet stage...
I recommend Battleclash and its sequel Metal Combat. 2 Super Scope games that are fun as hell. It’s easily beatable on the first playthrough, but still worth playing over and over.
I think of Kirby Superstar as one big game with the "6 games in 1" gimmick (not counting the two mini games). The games all have a different format but the same basic gameplay (except for the minor tweak in one of them).
My playthrough of Star Ocean was 18 hours.
Hook...from the Robin Williams flick. Fun game
Uh oh, you're gonna summon that one guy who has a completely random jihad going against this game
SNES drunk : I'm not aware of that guy...but now you scared me😱 lol.
LAGOON thank you! I have been trying to remember the name of that game for years. It's the first game I beat b4 my father and for the longest time I could never describe it to anyone cause I forgot the name and saying "game with bowl hair cut kid and tiny sword" left people stumped.
Gunman's Proof looks cool :)
wow, didn't realize psycho dream was by the same people behind Valis, but definitely looks it!
Super Aleste, Contra, Mario World, Mario Kart, Street Fighter 2, Super Ghouls n Ghosts (well first time through any way), Exhaust Heat (one full season in about 80 minutes is possible) and perhaps Axelay as well can all be done in about an hour. Super Aleste is my favourite though I complete it every time I switch it on.
My brother and I can get through Turtles in Time and Contra 3 in under a half hour, so those are fun quick runs. The first Actraiser can take around 3 hours as well
My go to for short and great plays are Super Bomberman and Turtles in Time.
I never really played the Kirby games so I never knew about the Lolo cameo from the start of this video
Metal Warriors is a good one for this category. It’s a somewhat difficult action platformer, if you don’t die too much you can finish in 30-45 minutes. It’s actually pretty similar to another good choice for this list, Cybernator. Hmm, maybe mecha games need a separate video ;)
this is a quality video
