  • Thanks to Electric SQL for sponsoring this showcase.
Being able to sync between local SQLite databases and cloud or bare metal Postgres is an exciting prospect and Electric SQL has a plan for doing that.
Supporting local-first applications without losing access to tried and true SQL-based relational databases is just super practical to me.
My code that the examples are done with is open and available. Use it as you like:

I've had a lot of fun with it as evidenced by the four livestreams:
    czcams.com/users/liveuGNgAiLj0SM
czcams.com/users/livey71uOUPXioA (the best one, globally distributed SQLite on Fly.io)

I implemented something similar to what you are explaining, but in different design.
    It works as a charm.

Thanks so much for the showcase. This is very exciting for all the reasons you mentioned in the end and I'm excited to explore its application in my own app, servicing construction management in areas with spotty connections. 👍

electric-sql is awesome! what is the performance for e-commerce large volume of web app and native app write/read?

The performance will be local SQLite as far as the user is concerned.

Great work. Can one have several offline SQLite dbs each syncing with a unique PostgreSQL schema?

Electric SQL are making all sorts of interesting updates. Check their site and ask on their discord. Not sure and they will give better answers.

Can we get a tutorial for a bare-bones setup with deployment on railway and connection to express and React app, that would help most people understand all the steps necessary to get up and running.

I think you would have most luck by talking to the Electric SQL folks on their discord :)

Would this work on flutter with nodejs server?

    • @underjord
      @underjord  Před 9 měsíci

I expect so. I know there is work on a Dart client which would help the Flutter case. Don't know the status of it. I recommend asking on the Discord.

I think my voice was on the mend from some plague at this point. But I'll consider it.
