  • A healthcare worker who has spent over a year alone in Ireland without her family has described her situation as “very painful” due to rules around reunification imposed by the Department of Justice.
Saritha Vincent, who lives and works in Wicklow, has described the loneliness felt by migrant workers separated from their families, who are calling on Justice Minister Helen McEntee to reconsider current policies that keep them apart.
Her husband, son (5) and daughter (2) remain in India as her salary does not meet the minimum threshold for them to join her.

I'm very grateful to Ireland. I am an Indian with a red passport as I identify myself but I would never dream to do this. I have been on my own for nearly two decades in Ireland and have very good irish friends who are family to me here. And I'm very sorry to see this carryon. I totally understand their frustration but it's a choice made.

    •  Před 21 dnem +7

Clearly she thought she could bring them all over when she got settled, WRONG.go home to your family, taxpayers have had enough,we go to work every day and miss our children growing up while we earn the money to clothe and feed and educate them,so that they are forced to leave their homes and families to make a life for themselves, enough now.go home

So with money from careers I very much doubt even pays rent ,so we bring her family here so she gets a big home to accommodate her family ,that she chose to have and leave, and have privilege of paying for all that , extra school places, appointments etc etc ,then opps I have children i cannot work, my husband is depressed and in disability,i now care for him x by uncapped amount .... we all have left homes , families behind to go off working ,maybe for better wage ,it is lonely it is sad , but not the issue of your host country... most work to provide a place to live before bringing children into the world , most have to wait nearly till 40s to make that happen and limit to 1 or 2:

One should make a careful decision before embarking on making a life in another country. You should of thought of your children and the sacrifces u have to make, you cannot expect a country to simply give in to your demands. After all you came on your own volition, if the situation no longer is viable for you in Ireland then you should head back home. Please note I am an expat in Ireland for 23 years.

OMFG 5 of 6 of myself and siblings moved to Australia. We lived by the immigration laws in that country. As much as we would have loved to have our parents with us. There was no legal right to allow our parents to move over. My inlaws from New Zealand could have moved over but with no government support. New Zealand and Australia are closest allies and neighbours and they weren't given free rein either. She made the choice to move here and leave her family behind. She should move back if she cant bring them here. Just like I have done. Moved home to Ireland so I can be near my parents.

@@malicant123 "doesn't mean they dont' cause problems"....please explain. There are more issues with undocumented migrants and free loaders entering this country who you and I support. • @malicant123
      @malicant123 Před 21 dnem

@@SB-ht5pn The issue with Indians is two-fold. Firstly, they largely do not integrate, and secondly they are here in huge numbers.
I've worked with Indians who were fine people, but it was obvious that they saw Ireland just as a means to an end. One in particular owned two houses, and his plan was to buy a third and then rent them out whilst living in India. He was a nice man, but he clearly saw Ireland just as an investment, and those three houses could be owned by Irish families were he not here.
Whether someone is genuinely hard-working or not doesn't matter. Ireland is full, and the native Irish need to be given priority treatment in our own country. When huge numbers of foreigners are allowed to settle (and history shows this many times), they will slowly take over their new home. Ireland needs to be protested.

It the entitlement that countries should just bend to thier wants.
Anyone moving to another country should research that countries immigration laws.
If they are not suitable then you don't go to live there.
Any country that needs nurses does not need them to bring more patients into the country of thier choice, because that defeats the obvious.

Here we go. If you are lonely for your family go home. People make tough choices all the time. Many Orish have left families behind to support them from abroad.
20% of our population is now from outside Ireland and that is only the ones we can trace.
A husband and 3 children and our little country would be swamped.
In Canada they have a system and a person from India filed 120 papers for family members.
Our country cannot cope with an influx of immigrants with even the smallest figures.
