- Queen released these two songs in 1973. They were hits as covers in the seventies,they were aired as singles, though they were going to be released as the cover songs onto a Record , but never has happened. [luckily it was found in Freddie Mercury's "Best hits" album]

Freddie was a deep soul. He knew long before he was famous, his life was going to be filled with greatness and success. I truly believe he even knew that he was going to die at a fairly young age. He had great insight about his future and a belief no one could shake. I believe this because I listened to his interviews carefully and picked up on the little things that he would say and hint about. He was very serious about the things and people he cared about. He seemed to be that once in a lifetime friend. I bet him being your friend, was as rewarding, reliable, trusting, and comforting as anyone could do and be in this world. All of these combined, is the main reasons the man became a legend. Not just his music.

I am obsessed with him. I really am using listening to marathon Queen/Freddie Mercury playlists to treat what was a severe bout of depression brought on by household stress. My husband is spending a ton of money remodeling the house and the stress of remodeling is making me mentally ill. Not the first time I have had a bout of severe depression but my previous medical support system is retired or dead. I do not trust the doctor who has taken over as my primary care physician. I pick all my doctors with a lot of care. I need doctors who listen to me, trust me that I am telling them is true and do not make incorrect assumptions. At the moment, I do not have any doctors like that. 😒

the original composition songwriters of this were Gerry Goffin and Carole King 1966 Goldie and the gingerbreads group recorded it in the year of 1966 3 months before Dusty Springfield’s released Version of it came out

"The Great Pretender" was a cover of a Platters hit. Freddie gave it a different twist. I have an old CD of all Platters hits. It is a great listen.
He really was so very attractive. Very manly looking in the best way. And, yes, I think he knew. The four of them were good looking in different ways.

Whaat??? This song is incredible! I can’t believe it wasn’t more popular because I love it and I would like it even without being a Queen fan. I’m not a huge scorpions fan but I do like some of their rock songs and they’re slower ballads. This song is incredibly beautiful and I bet had it been released in the 80s and even today in 2019, it would be huge! I think David Clark or whoever has control of this should release it as a single. 'Going Back, and I Can Hear Music'.
These were 2 songs that EMI asked Freddie to record for them when Queen were in the studio recording 'Queen'.
He agreed to record them as long as the rest of the band acted as backing musicians, so they'd get paid for session work.
He refused to release them under his own name as he didn't write them, so they made up the name Larry Lurex as a parody of Gary Glitter as he was huge in 1973.
Because the studio was starting to promote Queen they didn't promote this, and so it was forgotten for a few years.
