You need to do the top of the ladder the way you did the bottom. Can you rotate the ladder 189 degrees so we can SEE what you are talking about? Thank you so much for your effort. Thumbs Up!
Can you please share with us more information about the bearings with washer, the size and where you got them? I am almost ready to assemble the ladder hoist but I need the bearings.
The Lock Washers give a sense of tightness. But, they loosen up as the plastic (that makes them feel firm initially) wears out & gets loose. Hope this helps.
Wonder if you could write it up to show all details including material, size, costs, maintenance, procedure, etc, needed to make this ladder hoist, and your garages. Be nice to include pictures. It'd be a tedious job.

Did you ever think of reversing the slide so that the platform goes down closer to the ground and the short ladder part acts as back to the platform ?
Thanks I’ll look into that
Can I use a 40 foot Werner aluminum extension ladder and just cut it to 16 feet instead of buying a 32 foot ladder?
I'm not sure Jim. It seems like the 40' would be built as strong or stronger than the 32'. It might mean running a lighter load.
