  • Step by step tutorial, How to take and edit your own Passport Photos at home for 19 cents. What to wear, how to light photo, how to pose, and how to edit photos.
    Note: When photographing, camera should be at eye level. Flash should be on. Subject should be approximately 4-5ft from camera. In my experience, having subject stand against wall reduced background shadows.
    *Glasses can be worn, however no glare can be present.

    This was so very helpful. I'm a hobbyist photographer, so I knew I could take the pictures, but I didn't know all of the places to go to get it set up correctly. I have to get them for 4 people, so you saved me almost $60 if I had went to Walgreens to have them take the photos. Thanks!

      Dear Tammy: There is always a risk with one's taking his/her own photo. I recently went to Rite Aid, where they are well versed with the rules, directing, and positioning of the subject -- yet my renewal was rejected.

    DO NOT MAKE PASSPORT /VISA PHOTOS OUT OF APPS
    Consulates and embassies are very picky. If they find an original picture that he as been altered by an app like this one they have the right to deny your Visa/passport application. This is going to cost you time money and a lot of frustration.
    Please just pay the big price to your local Walgreens or Kinkos and have it done the correct way. It's going to hit you in your wallet but you won't be denied your Visa passport/ application.

    • @echoingamy
      @echoingamy  Před 2 lety +2

      Thank you. I paid Walgreens $60 for 4 passport size photos. The photo was so yellow. It was rejected by the visa office. I ended up being able to use an old photo I had. That’s why I made this video because no one should pay $60 for a passport photo when they can do it at home. If you go to the US gov website, they have listed extra tips for taking a correct photo. And they have an editor to align the photo correctly. I only used the extra website to create a 4*6 print because it’s much cheaper to print in 4*6 than 2*2.

      I've had four passports replaced, submitted pictures for visas into other countries, and never had a problem with any of my photos.
      Remember, just because your photo trick worked in the United States doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be accepted overseas, especially third world countries. Other countries immigration standards can become extremely rigid and strict with policies and procedures.

      @Babymem15 Před 8 lety +2

      Yes, I was also told at photo center that takes passport photos that they like for the ears to show, or they could possibly reject it.

    • @boyfrom75
      @boyfrom75 Před 8 lety

      +Babymem15 Yes…! Taking pictures is not just take a camera and start pressing buttons.. You have to really know how to work with lights, speed, apertures , white balance and hundreds of other things. It takes about 5 years to be a semi-professional photographer..
      And mistakes like " not showing ears in the photo" can be a really big mistake that can cost you terrible losses ..
      I give a example… A picture not showing the ears can get rejected by immigration and than what..? time is crucial in this type of papers and the lost sometimes can not be recovered.. This is when professional photography comes with experience.. Things like this you really have to know..
      If stupid photographer holding a camera during a wedding ceremony can be catastrophic..! you have less than a second to press the button of your camera and your camera settings must be in perfection.. because if you lose THAT PICTURE there is no turning back.. Because that specific moment was the only time of your life..!
      This is why professional photographers charge tons of money. A professional photographer is a person that is 100% confident that can take pictures in a wedding ceremony in dark or very difficult places and those pictures must come out at perfection without needing to check or delete anything.. They only have time to just click ,click and trust their knowledge..
      Photography is a beautiful art, And I'm very sure for personal experience that is more easy to learn how to drive a helicopter then learning how to use a professional camera. most people don't know this and many people will not agree with this because they don't know..

It's the Post Office, Walgreen's, etc. Most places are minimum wage teens that could care less. This video was helpful in saving money and possibly producing a photo of equal or better quality than the cookie cutter places.
