Thanks for the kind words man! I think the lick was inspired by Zaza actually. I bought myself the GE200 to have some versatility in recording and the 005 amp model in there paired with a good cab IR is wonderful. Great pedals.

I wanted to ask you, if your amp doesn't have a fx loop can you run it threw the front of the amp? The only thing I hear wrong is low volume when running it through the front of the amp, but u can always turn the volume up and it's sounds great.
Bboy Arpeggios you can run it in front of a clean amp so that wouldn't be a problem. The sound might differ a bit since you're using your amps preamp as well. And leave the cabsim off in that case
sorry if this is a silly question, but what kind of tone is that at 0.22 ? Is it rock ? I'm trying to figure out how to emulate that sound of sounding like that rock-vibe with the last distortion possible so it's nice and clean but also screams at the same time ( if that makes any sense!). Excellent playing btw!
Gajan Sankararajah the lead tone? You could say it's a rock lead tone. I usually dial in not too much gain, use a booster (tube screamer or similar drive with 0 gain and 100 volume) and add a delay after. Then I like the neck humbucker most of the time as it gives this rounder sound if that makes sense, although those screaming harmonics are easier on the bridge pickup. Hope this helps to dial in your sound :)

How does the 008 take distortion and drive pedals, when used direct with the cab sim? I see you've used your Green Mile as a clean boost, but I'm specifically wondering about setting the 008 up as a clean amp (with the cab sim on) and running overdrive and distortion pedals into it for my gain needs, with the whole setup running straight to the PA or recording interface.
This is exactly my question too, as I want to use it to make "thicker" my Roland JC-22. Have you reached any conclusion on which preamp would compliment Distortion pedals on their clean channel?
Hi Bart awesome playing dude. love the tunes!!!!! If u r free dude - I had issues with my cali pre amp 008 - it doesn't work on a 9V 300ma power supply properly. and it doesn't work on a 9v adaptor as well=(? whats the power adaptor or the brand you are using for this =(? please help!
Stigmata thanks! I'm using a separate 300ma power adapter. I think it came with a Digitech istomp. It does use a lot of power. My Voodoo pedal power doesn't like it when I run it with other pedals so that's why I use a separate one.

Stigmata I've looked around but can't find one anywhere since it came with a pedal. You could try buying a 500ma one for guitar pedals. That should be plenty for the pedal

Thanks! Difficult pick as there are many. I would look into a more old school high gain amp model. They also have Marshall based preamps but I've only tried this one. For versatility I bought the GE200 as that one has all the micro preamp tones :)

I only have this one, but I heard one of the Fender versions recently as a friend has one. In a band mix it sounded pretty convincing coupled with a delay/drive pedal.
What if you wanted to send it tbrough the front of an old marshall head that has no return loop?in other words, what If i wanted to have it in a pedal chain going into the front of amp seeing as I use my marshall with the preamp set low for clean so that its a platform for pedals???
This can work although results may very depending on how the amp responds to pedals. It will function more like an od/distortion pedal in front of the amp instead of the seperate preamp sound. I haven't tested this (or can't remember how it sounded) as its not the main use for a preamp pedal but Mooer does mention somewhere that you can use it that way too

Yes, the Mooer out went to the FX return of the Mesa Express 5:50+ amp + V30cab. (Cab sim off) and then mic'd with an sm-57. You could use it in a live setting with any Poweramp and speaker.
OK Thanks. Was mostly looking to find examples of Mooer going direct to the DAW to judge recording quality. I really wanted hear if a single recorded track to a DAW sounds like a real amp. Maybe another video on this?

Paddy Trihey hey, I currently don't have full tabs since I'm rearranging and recording the song again, but the chorus is based on E minor and D major triads. There is also another solo playtrough on my channel that might help
I think the 005 and 009 have more gain and a more modern metal sound as the amps they are based on have those characteristics as well. Haven't tried those, but the similar amp models in the GE200 are better for modern metal styles. I love the leadtones of the 008 though
John Thompson then one with cabsim off and the other one one. First one would be kinda like a distortion pedal in that case. I don't think it would sound that good but I can't test it haha
I personally like the Mesa cleans, but I think the 002 has a lot to offer. I do like the high gain channel more from what I've heard in other videos. I didn't try to 002 in real life though.
Daniel Baber yeah, the amp models in the ge200 are based on the same technology. I'm really curious to try out that unit as well, but can't find it in stores here yet

It sounds just like a Mesa Mark 3 or 5 - amazing. This is likely the best pedal in the series as far as sounding like the amp its emulating

I wouldn't say the 008 is bad for cleans, but I haven't tested any of the other preamps yet so I have no clue which one would be better suited.
The UK Gold 002 actually has a very good clean setting sound - it stays clean even at higher gain settings.

Do you have a preset (lead) for the TC Flashback?
It's a while back since I recorded this but the settings in the video (2290 delay) with a longer delay time usually works really well
