  • Flying around Buckeye, Arizona in the desert there are always interesting things to see. Even just being at the airport KBXK there is a lot happening on the ground too. Hope you enjoy some of the things we get to share with you now.

    Once again, a very well done video. As an Arizonian, and former off-roader, I appreciate the low level passes over the trails and topography of the desert. Every time I watch your videos I imagine myself flying along with you. I hope you keep them coming because I am hooked!

    Wow, beautiful video. A lot of content. Making the off-roaders jealous, wedding crashing of an above type, white stuff and lastly...was that a skydiver that was in trouble and had to ditch the primary chute???? Love the video(s).

    • @larsonadventures580
      @larsonadventures580  Před 3 lety

      Thanks Mark! Yes the skydivers first chute was in trouble so he pulled the reserve! We happened to catch it on video because our friend Rick (the pilot who flies the red Tanarg) was jumping. At first we thought it was him but he was the jumper right after the parachute fail.

    Flying in a sky diving zone... check your VFR sectionals - you may find they don’t appreciate aircraft in their area.

    • @larsonadventures580
      @larsonadventures580  Před 3 lety

      Actually that footage was taken from the ground at our airport. KBXK has constant parachuters and we fly in the correct area all the time. Our Friend Rick happened to be jumping with that group and we were filming him. We agree checking sectionals and monitoring proper frequencies is always important.

    • @larsonadventures580
      @larsonadventures580  Před rokem

      Sky Diving often occurs near airports. This is the case of buckeye. Knowing the sectional is a must for every pilot. Daily the skydivers jump at buckeye. If you look at the sectional you will see that the pattern is directed for the west side of Buckeye Airport. The jumpers are on the east side. We know at all times when the jumpers are jumping, the jump plane advises on the radio. I flew with the jumpers in ultralights years before i became a licensed pilot. Communication is the key. This part of Arizona has a lot of jumping going on. Cross country flights require knowing each area where they jump and knowing how to fly safe. I have seen and heard planes fly through jump zones though. Just about every airport i commonly fly to has jumpers.

    Hello Roger, what does the law say about taking your trike to some remote location on public lands, setting it up and taking off? I'm driving to Pahrump to get my trike this month on the 17th. I thought I would be able to take it to the small sail plane strip at Lake Pleasant but just drove out there and it is gone. I didn't know that it wasn't there anymore. The last time I was there a friend, John Kimmeries, used to have a trike school there. Thinking back, that was a long time ago.

      Hi Scott, sorry i didn't respond right away. I was on a trip out of state and didn't sign in. To answer your questions. I think the law would vary by state. There is State laws found in A.R.S. title 28 which would apply and possibly local ordinance depending on where your located. I would be happy to chat with you on the phone. Do you have my number? Both Leo F. at Pahrump has it. and Larry Mednick has it. If you can make it out to buckeye it is a great place to practice. Try to give me a call. I can give you more info on the phone.
