  • Episode 10 - I head south to search for the most southerly road in Australia. I come across a stream looking for a platypus, and I ride into the hills searching for trails and old barns.

    Mate. Your channel is a great find for your great story telling and the memories you have brought back for me especially this Tassie trip. So many places you have travelled are where I went. Can’t wait to get my bike back down there again now. Let the planning begin🤣🤣

    Fantastic video!! Think this one’s a favourite, between the apples, berries, platypus and the mixture of riding and the awesome hike.

    Joe, in awe at your quiet style - information-rich, friendly, no ums and ahs unless it's intentional. Please consider doing some videos on the clothing/bike/camping gear you prefer, the bike mods you added, and the food you ate - if you're looking to fill some content gaps or not travelling. Really like your approach to documentary-making.

    • @freewayproject
      @freewayproject  Před rokem

      thanks Jason, Glad you are enjoying the videos. I was going to do a video at the end of what gear I took, what gear I actually use and what gear I didn't use. And another video on the bike, how I have found it after what will be probably 20 000 - 25 000km.
      Oh the episode next week I'll show what I eat, nothing flash.
      Thanks for staying tuned.

    Just discovered your channel. Enjoying your adventures, the relaxed pace and calm background music. Great job. You really seem to be enjoying what you are doing and not just pumping out content. As a new Himalayan owner myself I’m glad to see videos of someone enjoying the bike and not constantly finding faults with it. Please keep these great stories coming.

      Thanks Bob, I'm glad you are enjoying the ride. I have honestly had no issue with the bike, I wanted something that would allow me to go and explore and that exactly what it has allowed me to do, it's just fit for purpose. Hope you are having fun on your Himalayan 😁

    That was a great presentation. The ocean beaches beautiful but the platypus in the wild excellent. Enjoy and be safe. I do day trips in the WA USA PACIFIC NW.. envy you young bucks now that I am 78. Traveling and blogging is not cheap so enjoy my thanks✔️

I have been to the Pacific North West but never ridden through there, I am definitely going to plan a trip to ride through there. And again thank you for your generosity it is greatly appreciated.

    Another great video mate I could watch hours of this stuff, also just wondering if you bought your bike new or used and how many klms you have done on it, and have you had any dramas with it other then ware and tear. Keep the clips Coming and ride safe.

    • @freewayproject
      @freewayproject  Před rokem +1

      Thanks Jason. I bought the bike second hand it hand about 2000km on it. It had the panniers, grip warmers, upgraded exhaust, LED lights, hand guards etc... already. I have done over 20 000km on it so far. I have had no issue so far, just the wear and tear stuff tires chain. I have dropped it probably 20 times in the sand, dirt, rocks etc and I pick it up and it keeps going, nothing has broken. I have had it in 42°C in the sand so going not much faster than walking pace paddling my way through for a few hours and no over heating issue even with no air being pushed into the radiator. So even with user error from me, it hasn't missed a beat.
      More clips to come, probably another 8 or so from this journey.

    Was a bit late on this one Joe, grandkids took over my time for a week. Another good vid and the walk to the southern tip was amazing, starting to getting inspired to make it back down to tassie. There is so much to see there, you are doing a great job showing how great the apple isle is. Thanks

    How many km do you do a day? How do you find the comfort in the saddle?

    • @freewayproject
      @freewayproject  Před rokem

      Hi Mate, it depends on where I am going or what I am doing but normally 300 - 500km a day. I have done a few days at 900km.I find the saddle comfortable. I do up to about 3 hours sections at a time and have no issue with the seat for that period of time.
