The brotherhood they have is something I have never known but brings me to tears when I see others have such a bond. These kids are so special to me.
I get what you mean... It is such a great song.... and just to tell you - I know now who the artist in your picture is, and yes, as you said he has been in the news all the time. Where should I start when it comes to one of the og boygroups of kpop? Should I start with the group or the members. I took a short look into Taeyang when he featured Lisa of BP on Shoong!. Being a BP stan I had to see who he was. He has a great voice but I was still very much girl group / artist only so I didn't really look deeper. As for GDragon I have absolutely nothing I could say. I only know his name and the recent "bad news" he was somehow involved in. Bigbang in general were only a name for me... I might have heard a song but wouldn't remember.

I’ve been thinking about how to approach BIGBANG (bb) with you for a while now, how would I start reacting to them if I could do reactions. Most reactors start with their biggest bangers but most VIPs will tell you it’s not the best way to start. I will tell you my opinion but in the end it’s your decision on how to approach this.
I’ll assume that you have put on the list the 2 suggestions I gave you from Han’s 2 favourite groups, Take What You Want by One Ok Rock live is a one shot time because it’s such a great performance but you don’t have to. Tablo’s cover of Eyes Nose Lips is to prepare you for his collaboration with SKZ and at the same time to introduce you to Taeyang’s biggest song.
Unlike SKZ, bb only has 3 albums not counting their solo albums which isn’t much (VIPs are used to the long waits) so we can take our time before GD’s comeback this year. Taeyang had his comeback last year and Daesung is just starting his, his new song came out 2 weeks ago. Know that all 5 had very successful solo careers at the same time as the group career.
I knew Tablo and his daughter Haru from a show called Superman where a famous dad spends the day with his child without mom, but every time I watched bb behind the scene content Tablo was always there and I couldn’t figure out why, I only knew him as Haru’s dad, I didn’t know at the time that he was a famous rapper and supported bb. I think he’s 1st generation while bb is 2nd generation. He once said bb is unique bc their music appeals to the general public but if you like hip hop bb will appeal to you too.
I think the best way to start is by their solo work and see what happens in the end when you combine all 5 artists that is bb. Know that bb is known for their live performances, they sound better live, it’s crazy.
Please note that most of their songs have no subtitles, you can google “Dorian Gray BIGBANG” and you will find most songs and live performances with English subtitles and you won’t be copyrighted. They are safe to use. Dorian is a VIP and continues to this day to add subtitles.
Because you already saw Shoong we can start with Taeyang, vocalist/dancer and was known worldwide before people knew bb. Wedding Dress and Eyes Nose Lips are his most famous songs. His recent song Seed is beautiful, my personal interpretation is it’s about bb and how he misses his group and the good ol’ days.
Before you get to know the other 4 and because you like female artists I thought next you could check out the collaborations GD did.
Without You - GD featuring Rose when she was a trainee and before Blackpink existed. There is no mv.
Black - GD featuring Jennie when she was a trainee and before Blackpink.
That XX - GD, young Jennie is in the mv but doesn’t sing. GD plays 2 characters, the guy that loves Jennie and the XX (jerk) that Jennie loves. I think Dorian translated it.
Palette - IU/GD collaboration
Missing You - GD featuring IU live in 2017, you can find it on Dorian’s channel. Not one of my favourite performance but you might like it. There are not many female voices that I enjoy.
There is a 2022 guide for bb but I thought you would enjoy watching this fan made video called “BIGBANG is the only boy group that has the largest male fandom”, it is fun to watch and gives you an idea about them before you get to know the other 4 artists.
You don’t have to do any of this but I think you will love this bb journey, some is old but some songs are ahead of their time. It is bb that led me to Stray Kids, they are similar in many ways. As you go, know that GD is like 3Racha.

Yes, Stray Kids made this song to sing along with STAYs at the concert during Covid time. They have released the Japanese version first in 2020, and then released the Korean version after they could see the end of Covid to go on tour, and they have performed this song every time at their concert.

The first time I heard FAM, I bopped like crazy, but I also had tears in my eyes. I think it's because it's a song of brotherhood and love for each other. That really touched my heart.

If u aware, basically the song starts with bangchan the eldest sings about I’N the youngest. Then from I.N goes to seungmin, and the 2nd youngest, sings about felix and so on, following their age. And they actually write their own parts. Meaning the part they sing about the other isa a genuine feeling and thought that they think about tht person.
Thus the song is very dear to them, and to the fan. And yes, we got emotional too.

This is one of the songs that was released originally in Japanese. It was released in 2020 and was extremenly NOT known song by them lol. Barely anyone ever talked about it. Two years later they released the korean version of it and this video and suddenly it got super popular 😅😂

Most of the time I don't care too much if the group writes their own songs: I find it is a great plus if it does, but if not I will still love the group and their songs as much. But there are some songs where it really hits different, if you know that the members wrote it themselves, and 'fam' by SKZ is definitely one of them.
As one can tell, there are many inside jokes and nicknames which are not really known outside of the fandom.
the song was released in 2020 in Japanese, when they have just started promoting in Japan, but the Japanese MVs never have subtitles. the Korean version and the MV were released at the end of 2022. The MV is based on the footage from the live performance of this song at one of the concerts: I think in total it was performed maybe 3-4 times live as one of the encore songs, so it is not a part of their main concert set list (they usually performed different songs for encore at different tour stops).
So this is one Stay Kids song I had yet to listen to and boy what fun it was to watch it for the first time with you. 😊 This has become one of favs for sure, it has such a great fun beat too. 👏
Also I think why you got emotional listening to the song is because really, this song is an expression of their love and bond with each other. They are definitely a close knit family. ❤

I think, if I am not mistaken the lyrics sung by each member are composed by themselves for the member they are singing about . its a cool and emotional song, even I feel so. I can feel how much they adore each other❤

It is a really good intro to the members and is so fun live. The Japanese version came out first and has slightly different lyrics.
This definitely is a top track for me. I do love both versions, but the Korean lyrics hit just a little closer than the Japanese. Both are incredibly clever and spot on.
The references might have you shaking your head, but each characteristic for the specific member is genius. Their SKZOO character counterparts are drawn in for those who can't figure out which goes to the corresponding member
I.N is Baby Bread is just one of his nicknames in the fandom. His SKZOO is FoxyI.N
Seungmin is a puppy and the mong, mong/ woof, woof is not far behind loyal like a lab. Puppy M is his character
