I love how the guys of Stray Kids produce their beats. Very trappy and aggressive. LiSA fit perfectly into the mix with her vocals. This was amazing.

considering that he had to go through 7 years of training before debuting, and the number of obstacles they had to face after debuting, one can just imagine the frustration he must've went through, especially while having 6 other kids with you. (I call em kids not to belittle them but to highlight the father figure of Bangchan). This is a really strong man, this is a really special group, and the song is a big W.

Chan wrote this about his own experiences. His story is so heart wrenching. He left everything at 13 in Australia & went to Korea alone. He was basically alone for 6 years till he met Han. 😢 I remember him mentioning being literally alone in the dorms one year when everyone got cut from JYP & he was literally the only 1 left. Can you imagine being a young kid alone in a massive empty dorm. All his friends had debuted, & everyone else was cut. He made a decision never to get close to anyone again and ended up in a really dark place. He's made more than one reference to his mental health suffering during this time. Luckily he met Han & Changbin to form 3RACHA then later the rest of the boys & he said they saved him. 😢😭😭😭 He's literally a walking miracle. ❤❤❤❤ (Hence the levitation or ascending visual) He is so incredibly strong to overcome all he did. Knowing this made this song hit so hard.😢

My personal favourite is the first opening for Sword Art Online (I instantly fell in love with her voice and the song when I watched tjay anime).

From what i know (please anyone correct me if i'm wrong) Bang chan wrote this song about his.. experience about becoming a trainee and a k-pop idol.. with that in mind, the beginnig of the song just hits way harder in my opinion
i think LiSA grew famously when she sang the opening theme song of demon slayer - this is just according to my radar. but yes LiSA is a very good singer, like her songs. and this collaboration is so perfect LiSA is such a good feature t^t

When i first heard it, i immediately thought that it calls back to their I AM album series. The bold red that has been their origin color in hellevator and District 9. Some songs more explicitly referred are: Voices and Mirror
And YES! LiSA's voice was well integrated into the song 😭 her iconic sound/voice highlighted as its own and then contrasted by Felix and then layered by Chan's voice (im guessing) made the collab really powerful.
It was really good. I liked it.
LiSA has a very special place in my heart because SAO was the first anime I watched and she sings a well amount of OSTs there (Unlasting is exquisite, I recomend a listen) and her voice is SOO distintive. StrayKids have been colabing artists they really admire and seeing this happen and be ABSOLUTLY FIRE is just amazing.

Stray Kids have so many great Japanese songs it is on the list of my faves songs from them. I suggest you watch Circus and The sound MVs, and their whole Japanese album is also amazing too. SKZ never really disappoints. Whatever languange it is. 😁 I'm glad you are enjoying your Stray Kids journey.

I've been sort of aware of LiSA for some years now because she kinda of has a lot of songs that are anime OSTs. I think she got a lot of attention for the demon slayer one a while ago, but I've been casually listening to her for years because of the songs Crossing Field and Catch the Moment that are both OST for the anime Sword Art Online (I think she has even more for this same anime but I'm blanking on the names)
I'm gonna have to listen to more of her songs. I like her voice.
LiSA's voice is perfect for the anime soundtracks she sings. And it's perfect for this collaboration.
And I agree - I really like the desaturated colors of the video, the incredible graphics and the space theme. I just like this whole M/V and song.

if you're looking for good LiSA content, i'd recommend her performances on the japanese first take channel! Her voice is so stunning, the songs gurenge and homura are especially incredible on there, and it's all live done in one take (hence the channel name)
Also SKZ have done a few performances on the first take, which show off their vocals soo well (slump, mixtape oh, scars, lost me are my favourites)
Thank you. I know the first take channel and have seen one song by LiSA there and loved it. Can't remember which one it was and I don't know why I didn't look further into her music. After a while I seemed to have forgotten about her in the whole flood of music I have been putting myself through all these years. I listen to a lot without knowing who or what it is while painting. 90% is kpop jpop oriented and I know quite a lot of groups but then there are also so many that just fill my ears with positive vibes while painting. I guess I've heard her more than once because I do listen to some anime ost playlists too ....

Would definitely recommend their japanese songs Scars, The Sound, Top, Slump. Oh but Circus and All In are really fun too 😁 And Scars and Slump have a First Take performance (really love these)!
I saw others already mentioning that Chan wrote this song about his experiences as a trainee and it's pretty recognizable in the lyrics imo. I remember that in an interview Chan talked about being in a really dark place during his trainee days bc everyone around him either debuted or didn't make it and he was very lonely. He had a hard time getting close to new ppl after that and had like a dark aura but then Stray Kids came into his life and changed it. He said more than one time that the other members literally saved him. With that in mind it's actually no surprise this song makes me really emotional 😅

Well, and i say this only for the sake of accuracy and the dispersal of any misunderstandings or misrepresentation of facts. That, if anything, what New Jeans is doing is, albiet in a far less aggressive and more LoFi manmer, reminiscent of Stray Kids old SKZ signature sound...
After all, this track is indeed very much on par with the sound SKZ was known for in the years before New Jeans debuted. 😊 Which is perfectly ok, because many groups in the world could also probably claim that as well. Lol
Yeah... in todays climate, you REALL don't want to say ANY grouop just did something "New Jeans does" as SOME fans will decidedly believe they "were the first to do" whether that be any other group, or just in general. As it has become clear that if it new to them, then it belongs to New Jeans.
That having been said, I in no hold ANY animosity for New Jeans, at all, as they are absolutely adorable. Or even to most of their fans, as they are just like any fans, there for the music. Im just stating a fact that, if left un noted, could very well cause a problem for us.
Kpop is extremely turbulent and unstable right now. Currently, SPECIALLY when you are fans of SKZ because theycare the most hated 4th gen grouo for absolutely no good reason. You have to be careful to never say snything that anyone could possibly twist into something its not.
As, apparently, we are now responsible for what other people choose to say and do, as well as automatically guilty of everything that anyone chooses to accuse you of, period. Anyways! Just a lighthearted PSA! All of that aside though...yeah, Signature SKZ and New Jeans do share a relative style of percussive taste. Lol

I am known to say what I think and feel. It has been both blessing and curse throughout my life. I might have turned the explanation around and maybe should have said "NewJeans use a similar beat to this here..." so as to state that they are the ones who "copy"..... But the whole he did she did first, copy paste steal sound like this that blah is totally stupid in my opinion. If we'd go by that then all musicians nowadays copied Queen, the Beatles, Biggie 2pac, and before that Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington...... Ppl have to realize that it is all a reboot of sound and rhythm, wash rinse repeat with each generation.... XG (who are one of my favs) sound like TLC with a more modern sound ... and TLC sounded like Donna Summers with a modern chill sound and Donna Summers was a disco version of many blues artists waaay back.
I know what you're getting at and I am not mad or anything. I always find it interesting how some "fans" can get upset about stuff like that (not you). Music is about enjoying the way an artist puts together a bunch of notes .... There aren't that many notes and we have been using them for centuries. Same with beats....its either boom bam bam boom or the other way around or mixed up a bit.
Those ppl copy paste a recipe from yt or some diet workout plan.... sheesh, copy pasting life in every way. And then its ok... But dare you say my idol sang like somebody else, no, they are like noone else..... fans like that have to chill the F out...
I am a musician myself, have played guitar since I was 11 and am influenced by so many musicians. Yea some of my songs sound like this or that known song. But good god, With so few notes and rhythms, some things just might sound alike.
I talk about music by pulling what I know and explaining it through that. And if something recent sounds like that melody line in that old Tori Amos song then I will say that. It doesn't mean the recent one copied it. It just reminded me of it. Yea, I'm weird, I know. And I am all for discussions about stuff like that.
In the end its about enjoying the artform, no matter what it is. Thats why I intentionally said it feels "trappy" to at least put a musical genre to it. But heck what would those "fans" know. And hell, what would I care. If the artform - in this case the music - makes me feel good then I don't really care if it sounds like this that or someone copied a melody from there or a beat from there.... if it makes me feel good then that is all I need to know.
I am blunt sometimes, I am filled with flowery explanations sometimes, but mostly I am me. Like it or not.

그들도 훌륭한 Artists이지만, 저는 JYP 박진영에 대해서 좀 더 평가해 주셨으면 좋겠습니다.
50이 넘은 나이에도, 자기 관리를 통해 춤과 노래도 잘하고.. 그의 철학이 JYP Artists들에게 많이 전달된 것으로 보입니다.
Twice, Stray kids, Itzy, NiziU, Nmixx 등 그룹을 이해하는데 도움이 될거 같습니다.
