  • In the previous time, Cambodian people had had many ways to cook rice since they always lived in the isolated area, mostly in the forest. They could even use scarf to cook. This is actually called Krolan (ក្រឡាន), in Khmer name. Here, we mixed it with coconut, bean, salt and sugar to make it more tasty. Anyway, you can just simply cook rice if you're away with no pot for cooking rice. I'd love to show you to how cook rice in a scarf next time. Thanks!

    What were the green pea looking things that were underneath the rice? Also why did you put the cocnut shells in the fire instead making a normal fire and laying them in a little hut pattern around it VS doing it length wise with Coconut shells?

      Sorry for late reply, I was just busy at school. Green peas added more taste to the rice, anyway, without green peas, it's still fine. Whether you burn coconut shells or firewood, it's ok. It's just coconut shells are easy to find in my area, so i used them instead of firewood. Thank you for the questions!

      Yeah, it takes longer time, but without pot in our hands, bamboo is a good friend for cooking variety of foods. Thank you, Tika Ayu Bestari!

    How many hours did it take to cook??

    • @gen-channel1897
      @gen-channel1897  Před 5 lety

      Around 1 to 2 hrs. If we calmly burn it longer with less fire, it will be done perfectly and tastily.

      Ohh... soak the rice for at least 15 minutes or more. Put some more little water if you think that the rice isn't wet enough.
