VERY glad to see a "couple" enjoy themselves, each other, AND the environment, as much as you 2 do! Keep up the good work!!!
Yeah, a lot of guys can do this, but finding a woman who can, well she's a keeper even if she only has 1 leg, 1 eye, and a speech impediment. Quality is in what you can do. You never hit the wall in a mans eyes if you can make Spruce tip tea, and cook on a rock.
Mike Fitch, you eloquently said it best!
I have watched this video before, and I am watching it again because I enjoy you guys :)
same, been watching this for years
Same
Didn't you mean to say that they "rock"?
Me too!
Me too. With the love Conny puts into Lonny’s pastries a man can’t get any better. It’s just the best!
This the REAL Hard Rock Cafe.
Carl you are funny
Carl..
😅😎
Yes.
😂😂😂
I like this one better, personally
How could you say something so controversial yet so brave?
I feel sorry for any sad, unhappy person who'd dislike such a great video.
So true your comment!
I guess people who can't have bacon?
ArtMorte I agree. No one in their Right mind could dislike this knowledge sharing and beautifully made good food.

Really? a couple thousand people thumbed down this video? They arent doing anything in this video they are only cooking on a rock. We can learn from these videos, these people are teaching us necessary tips.
as a strictly educational video it is not bad. But as a "survival" video it has one MAJOR flaw and something that should NEVER be done. NEVER, EVER, EVER cook in camp. Food prep and cooking should be done at least 100 yards from the camp when in bear/cougar country. Which is most of the wilds in North America. This is showing VERY bad habits that should be avoided. Cooking in camp can and has lead to many camping deaths. So as an educational video its fine but it should be noted very clearly that this should never be done anywhere near sleeping areas.
It's probably because the dry stone isn't mentioned , my first thought was wait won't it explode, half information out there,
Right! Why would u not like this.. it's really awesome.. I want to try it soon.
i like him as elders teachers.
Many deaths? From the statistics it wasn't from big cats. There are only about 4 cat attacks a year with 1, on average, being deadly in the US and Canada. Only about 30% of the US even has bears. In most of the US your biggest threat is going to be raccoons. Take precautions if you are in an area with predators, but the "never ever ever" crap is over the top.
Just watched this video for the first time. I am so glad you said your meal was "very good." I so often hear young people today say that some meal they had was "amazing." The beautiful creation all around you is amazing, your wife is amazing, but a meal is "very good" Thanks for all your fine videos. When I am stuck here for long periods of time, your material is very refreshing.
Ok... Now I'm hungry!! Lonnie... You are a 110% correct. It certainly doesn't get better than that! Great video!
Go get a rock and some bacon!
We went to Greece a long time ago and unfortunately almost no one spoke English. We went to a restaurant and pointed to something on the menu we couldn’t read. They ended bringing a super heated rectangle shaped stone ( I thought looked like marble) and brought out either lamb or chicken. We were like what the heck do we do lol. The waiter put a piece of the raw meat on the stone and we felt super dumb.
In the the end it was super good food and a memorable experience !
I would go to that place again in a heartbeat. Anyway this video made me think of that.
Your music selection is superb and the sound quality is even better. Connie is adorable.
Connie has such a sweet smile. Lovely couple. Great and useful info. Thanks. 😊
Thank you Lonnie, you deserve a lot more likes and views on all your videos for taking the time out of your life to teach us. It's a great privilege to have you.
Lonny and connie, a match made in heaven, love your informable videos it's a beautiful thing.*****
This has got to be your best video since Lonnie erected the canvas tent wearing his buckskins! Love the idea of the stone griddle, the drip cup from the bacon, AND the idea of being able to STUFF bannock! Excellent idea! Never mind just mixing good things into the bread, stuff the bread! Ten stars!

Guess you don’t need super expensive cooking gear at all. In a pinch/survival situation, good to know I could cook meat, etc. ON A ROCK! Good info. Love your channel.
rock cooking is traditional in all cultures from the first times.
Who needs a frying pan when a rock will do!
Looks delicious outdoors lovers!
A different way to do it besides wrapping around a stick and roast till golden brown over hot 🥵 coals.
Thanks for sharing!!👍🏽👍🏽
I love your videos, Lonnie and Connie! It is such a joy to see the two of you enjoying the beauty of creation up in the far north, together! I hope you are blessed with many more years of love and happiness together. And, thank you for sharing your talents with us!!

RIGHT??
This just makes me really happy to see this sweet couple who love each other.
I just love these people. Thanks for sharing. Awesome job.
Thank you for this amazing teaching video! I found it very interesting to watch, very innovative ways to cook if you happen to be out, away from the limelight.. peaceful, quiet, doing all the stuff you'd normally do at home, but in a very natural, raw setting. Free from all life's luxuries and all the gadgets that make chores easy breezy....here's to the folks that made this video, in such a wild, natural setting, without all those fangdangled things. Awesomeness for sure!! 😋
Had me at bacon, lost me at black olives lol great job Connie you're a natural in front of the camera!
The finer things in life arent made in 4 star restaurants but made in the outdoors on a fire and rock ! great channel never seen it before i love this kinda stuff ;) you guys got a new sub !

I love your never-ending creativity so open-minded to many things and the pace at which you move at
Do you smell what the rock is cooking?
Yes the aroma from the cooking food is not affected by the rock that I have ever noticed.

Far North Bushcraft And Survival I'M DIYING😂😂😂😂😂

Love your videos. Respect and good wishes from India. 🇮🇳
Hi Lonnie and Connie! Greetings from Colorado! Been watching for a long time but just subscribed today! Dinner cooked on a rock. Yum! Doesn't get any better than that! AMEN!!!
Thanks for subbing.
You both make an excellent team. I hope we can have many many more years of you two making these videos! I was stationed in fort greely, alaska back in the 90s.
I've learned a lot through the years from the military but by watching your videos I've learned more,Iam hoping to teach my kids and grandkids when I get older lol
Barmaid: "What will it be?"
Me: "Bacon on the rocks, plz..."

That looks so tasty. Thanks for sharing your supper with us. Great videos brother Lonnie, sister Connie.
Another idea to try ... stuffed rock-baked bannock and spruce tip tea. Thanks for sharing, Lonnie and Connie! God Bless
U guys rock ! Keep doing what ur doing, the world needs more folks like yah
Connie seems like such a gentle soul, your a lucky man Lonnie!!
I don't understand how anyone could dislike this video.
I used to make Bannock bread when I was a cadet commander in the Civil Air Patrol, auxiliary USAF. Every outing, I'd carry the mix in a paper bag. Loved it, kept me going until we got home,
Y’all are bad ass!! I really appreciate the ones that I’ve seen so far. With all the modern conveniences that we have we sometimes forget, or some of us don’t even know the basics. Way to go Lonnie and Connie
The 3k thumsdowners wouldn't survive a single night in the woods
You got that right son! @70+ my son's can survive @ minus-25 in the bush 🇨🇦🐻expat
2 hours, more likely.
I didn't put a thumbs down because I love Lonny and Connie but I won't put a like either because of the plastic wet wipes and non recyclable bacon packaging.
Disaster to the woods !!! Get back to the trailer which is more than likely to be parked in the car park 100/170 m away !!!
@@lysfrommarple It's recyclable in the fire.
Who are these idiot people that dislike your video?? Lonnie you and your wife are living the dream!
And that food looked wonderful 👍 even in 2019.
even in 2021 :D
That’s not the dream. That’s the restricted nightmare.
Lonnie you are living the way I could only DREAM of doing. To top it off you have a woman who shares it. Fantastic videos. Please keep making such inforrnative and enjoyable videos . You and your wife are natural teachers.
Lonnie and Connie, deliciousness is always around you guys. Lonnie, I accept that bite you offered in the end of the video. Send it away. Congrats. Another relaxing and delicious video. Thanks for sharing.
what a beautiful couple..^_^
I had to subscribe when he said "pull up a stump and let's fix some supper."

Wow that looks so good. Connie your pizza pocket made me want one. Great cooking video
Seriously that looks mighty tasty. I'm gonna try this in my backyard.
i absolutely adore these two and the vidz are done perfectly. Bob Ross, Mr. Rogers and this couple including others of course are literally relaxing and educating in a entertaining way. Love to watch all of these.
A great classic vid, that I periodically re-watch. Love the idea of stuffed bannock, I'll have to try that!
Both of those pockets looked quite tasty! Not to mention they were cooked in bacon grease, can't go wrong there!
Great !! now I will be looking for a big flat rock to cook bacon on every where I go.
Have you ever thought about Marble Slab. A lot of times people have those that they put in the oven to bake a pizza on. A lot of times people that do marble countertops granite countertops. When they cut the hole out for the kitchen sink they have a piece of slab left over and they just throw it away. And it's possible to get a masonry blade for your skill saw and cut the slab the right size to put it in your oven. Then take Emery cloth and sand the edges down smooth. and then perhaps put the slab in the dishwasher and wash it real good. Then it should be good to go.
That looks even better than a lot of food I see cooked indoors!
You guys are great genuine people . I hope that I can be like this when I get older.
Imagine being this cool
Really good video, your wife is an excellent cook!
Just had to say....I tried this idea, but in my cast iron frying pan on the propane stove in the cabin and it was delicious!! Thanks for sharing!
I didn't know about using rocks like that to cook food with. I just recently purchased two dutch ovens to use for that. Connie did a great job cooking up the meal and I know you all enjoyed it so much. Your camp is looking great and you all have a place to camp out at when the weather permits.
Interesting indeed and watching this video with nostalgic memories .
Hi Lonnie, this was totally worth the wait! And Connie, Lonnie said it all, it doesn't get much better than this:) This is a wonderful video and can't wait to try your stuffed bannock this weekend, all the best to you both.
I'm watching this many times over to learn your technique to a "t".
We have a fire ban on right now so made the stuffed bannock on the gas stove in the cast iron fry pan, not very primitive.... But we very much enjoyed your stuffed bannock, it is yummy! Now your recipe waits to be tested on "the rock" when the ban is off and we have found that special rock to enjoy cooking primitive style. Thank you once again!
You are very welcome my friend. Glad you enjoyed the stuffed bannock. The "stuffing" choices are of course open to ones imagination and the taste bud. Some dessert stuffed bannocks would be wonderful as well.
I can see dessert stuffed bannock as a breakfast meal already:) Thank you Lonnie, and hope you and Connie are enjoying your new float-craft. Looks roomy and stable to haul what your need in July, I'm still jealous, lol. All the best!
Unfortunately we do not have the boat yet and may not get it. The manufacturer has been much less than truthful with us and i don't know when he will have the boat done.......if ever. We may eventually have to cancel our order and get something else.
Very sorry to hear the boat order isn't working out, it looks like such a great boat to use for river transport. Sure hope the manufacturer comes around and you can get what you need. I don't know how businesses can operate without following through with what they promise, but there seems to be more and more of that happening unfortunately.
In the meantime I hope you can find a boat for your trip and that plans are coming together for you.
We went to the dam today and found a flat stone that I hope isn't sandstone. There is slat here, just have find a piece and also check if it's good around fires. Next weekend hope to build a fire and try primitive cooking the bacon and stuffed bannock:) Have a great week!
It's nice to see a married couple enjoy life together. They seem to love each other.
You guys are so great! Loved the cooking show and that stuffed bannock bread looks delicious.
Longer and Connecticut, so nice to see the two of you together. Nice idea to use the rock to cook on. Spruce tea sounds good too. Onions I eat every day. Everything looks so mummy. Keep up the good work. Love watching

This will be great when the government takes everything from you, ( as some people think it's going to happen
) they can't take your rocks n logs . I love it, these people are ready for anything. My kind of people, n great way to survive. Thanks
This is not anything to do with survival, You cant just bring along a beautiful woman that cooks like a chef and then convince me your just surviving. You spoiled old man.... lol Love the tips.... thanks
🤣
A might fine way to enjoy a meal in the bush.
And though I'm a city-dweller, I'd mightily enjoy sitting with you both and learning from you as we shared a meal such as you show here.
I really have enjoyed each of both of your various videos, and have learned much just from watching you both. You each have mighty good skillsets and clearly greatly enjoy being in the bush.
Your videos are not only very informative, but are relaxing and calming to watch, thus I enjoy them greatly.
