My mother cut me off for 40 years. They teach that your real family are fellow JWs. End of subject. You give up worldly associations for eternal life on earth in absolute perfection.
How can God order this breaking apart of families? God is love, God is our father. No father wants their children to be unhappy. At least this is how I understand the concept of God....
Luckily me and my husband saw fault in the doctrine just before being baptised. Our understanding of the bible is so different now. We rely not on men to teach us but allow the holy spirit to lead us into all truth. Our faith grows stronger everyday.

You are a blessing Steve. Thank you for sharing your testimony. I was not raised a JW but joined as an adult in 1996. I was asked to appear at some intimidating hearings in 2004 because I was talking too much about Jesus. I was DF'd and given the label 'apostate' for answering yes to the elder's question "can a person have a relationship with God outside the organization?" I can testify that yes I can!! They honestly believe they are the sole channel through which God speaks to mankind. If a person believes that, they ought to stay in the organization. As for me, I believe Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through HIM (John 14:6)

As a JW for 33 years and trying to Express my concern for my family who are still in, and given up on this now because of the society's brain washing they are very hard to reason with. Your straight forward testimony is both logical and emotional and strikes a chord! Your boys can only wake themselves up and that waking up has started with your loyalty to christ 15 years ago, bless your awakening and your proving true to christ and knowing that, with God all things are possible. Exactly what I think he should do. His boys are being held back by fear of man due to this organization they think is going to save their spiritual lives. I guess they are totally convinced that they will die at Armageddon or something if they associate with their father. That is pathetic. Well I to have say I did my research and people I read the bible and I have family that are JW's they believe in Jesus that's why when you pray they pray in Jesus name.

In other words be reconciled to God. The apostles said they had the ministry of reconciliation as did John the baptist and Jesus. Paul preached no other gospel. Not become a jw and be saved. Saying something in the name of Jesys is absolutely pointless if you're still dead in your sins and you haven't been reconciled to God.

Thanks for sharing Steve. I too got off the JW hampster wheel and began a verse by verse study of the Scriptures. I was always perplexed at how little recognition JW's gave to Jesus. They will say Jesus is in their publications, but pay attention to how often they use the name Jesus. It's just not in their vernacular. I now recognize that not an earthly channel, but ONLY Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! John 14:6

Hi Steve. Your testimony is great! I can relate to 90% of it, but only because I was never an elder. I went through the same embarrassing moments and fears as you, when I had to dress up for the field service and worry about calling on the door of a school friend! I was a J.W. for 42 years. I have been born again since November 2012, and have never felt so free and happy as I do now I have Jesus in my life. Good on you bro. God bless.

Hello Steve ! I’m so encouraged by you not abandoning faith all together as many witnesses do when the wake up. I am totally with you that it’s wrong to lash out against them, bashing them as many do. I believe that’s a disservice to the Glory of God and just gives them fonder. Thank you for your choice to expose error Which is biblical. I too was basically raised a JW but thankfully never got baptized so I haven’t experienced as harsh treatment as many others have in leaving. I was shunned by some in my kingdom hall because they assumed I was baptized and they treated me differently based on what was being printed in the watch tower from month to month regarding disfellowshipped people. Thank you so much Steve for Sharing your heartfelt experiences and the insight you have found on very important scriptures that Christians need to hold dear to their hearts. These are very serious matters and we need to make sure that we continue to live our lives as true Christians apart from that organization that we got baptized into. Trying to understand what being born again means to be baptized properly is quite an undertaking for truth seekers. You have done that and you’ve come to find the answers that you find satisfying. If there’s one thing Holy Spirit enjoys and does perfectly is reveal the Truth, He is the best Teacher. I learnt that and I have learnt that He is also our best intercessor who teaches us to pray too. I have been a Christian all my life but got to know God after my husband died when I was 25 years old leaving me with infants, unemployed. I was angry at God for 6 years but He showed up and healed me, He revealed Himself to me and I got to know Him as a Father and Husband. Please keep on seeking the Truth and pray that Jehovah fills you with His Spirit so that He can help you in your journey. I had those types of encounters in field service. I have come to similar understandings about the ORG and Jesus. I think among other things, we should have realized, calling it "the truth" when GOD'S WORD, says JESUS is the truth.. c"mom. Thx SO MUCH for your word here. I was also disfellowshiped after years of being a JW and experienced the shunning from my siblings who remained in the organization. But I found Christ and have been a born again Christian for four years and it's a wonderful experience, that relationship with God thru' Christ Jesus. I just love it.
Dear Steve Thank you for sharing your story. Not sure how I got this but I was blessed by your clear presentation of the Gospel. I am a practicing Christian and I don't know much about the J.W.'s. But I do know religion is often a barrier to really encountering Jesus. Thank you for your story. I am thinking of the Phillipian jailer who was saved, when Paul and Silas were praising God in prison. He and his whole household were saved. We pray that it will be from the inside out for them as well.
I felt the same way after being disfellowshiped. I thought now what do i do. I prayed to Jehovah all the time for everything. So i i just never stopped praying. They told me nobody could pray for me so i thought well i can pray for me and i did. I also remembered a talk i herd at a meeting about a sister in china that was thrown in prison for having a bible . She was sentenced to 20 years. During that time she had no communication with any witneses had no bible to read. She carved scripture into the wall of verses she knew. Upon release the brother said she was more spiritual and joyfull than a person who was at 3 meetings a week. So i felt that i was ok to pray and have faith and strive to be christ like without being at the kingdom hall. They caused me to loose friends i loved very much and the reasons of being df was not right but they could not take away my love for God or his for me. This was part of how i kept sane and kept living and prayers were answered and continue to be. I actually felt a big weight had been lifted from me. No anxiety of having to sit in a room with 3 men and be asked inapropiate questions and fear of being shunned and they said they pray for Jehovahs holy spirit to guide them in thier decision of disfellowshiping a person and how ironic to say that when 1 or all sitting there judging you are commiting sins as bad or worse than you i dont personally feel holy spirit was flowing through them at all. Before the year was up 2 of them were themselves df.

I served at world headquarters in Brooklyn NY for 5 years, Served as An Elder over a Decade, Service Overseer , Served in Foreign language congregations and in Dominican republic with my wife. 3 plus years ago We (My wife and 3 children that I actually personally baptized at the convention wrote our disassociation letters and turned them in the same day. The reasons are spirituality based and are sad but true. We have suffered but are building real relationships with one another and for me with Christ not Just Religion. I was just like you, realize I was in a false religion. Then I have to go deep into the bible to find the real truth.. We are supposed to come to Christ not to any religion.. Religion is to courage us to come to Christ. But it is backwards for Jehovah's witnesses..

Steven, what encouragement that you brought. One other comment from Eric mentioned how good it is to see an ex jw who did not abandon their faith in God. I've also watched several videos and even though good information was given, some say they are atheists. It's so sad to hear that. I do believe a separation is happening and this false doctrine is being exposed more and more by God.

Welcome to the real world. I think those that were born in and have generations in this religion/cult have the most interesting stories. I was the very first person in my family to walk away and I didn’t know how much it affected me until years later. Feel free to stop by and listen to any of my stories.

My heart goes out to you sir 💔 and all who have experienced and still living through this devastating form of punishment and manipulation. I want to think that these organizations mean well because they truly believe the doctrine they teach is true and do not want their followers to be influenced by others who reject their doctrine, especially someone whose considered an apostate. Many groups and organizations practice what I call "pre shunning" or "upfront shunning" as opposed to "post-shunning" or "backend shunning;" whereby they encourage and often demand their followers to only fellowship with members only. One manipulative way they do this is keep the member so busy and creating everything (i.e., events, meetings, holidays etc) surrounding the organization and rewarding members for committing all their time to the organization so that eventually they have no contact or meaning relationships outside of the organization. Sadly, this more often excludes relatives.

Mr. Jennings, I am a former Jehovah's Witness too and you are absolutely correct about being born again. John 6:44 Jesus said, " No man can come unto me unless my Father who sent me draws him" Before that happens I believe we as people who were dead in sins were totally depraved until God regenerates us to be born again. Enjoyed your testimony, except the part of you losing contact with your children, I wasn't born in the organization I was a proselite and the only one in my family who joined the organization. My experience was alot easier than yours because I didn't have family in Watchtower so I walked away only thinking that I had lost eternal life. Not until I started watching ex JW's online and then reading the Old King James Bible did I realize the Watchtower organization was not Jehovah God's organization. I then rededicated myself to God under sovereign grace, nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ to cover all my sins past, present and future. I now do good works because I am saved and his Spirit operates in me, I am not trying to earn his approval, I just want to please my Father in heaven because he loves me and adopted me and gave his only begotten Son for me. Especially your coming to the realization that the watchtower organization is not even teaching the truth and salvation does not come from being part of that organization but through the blood of Christ Jesus as we exercise faith in that shed blood of his. Do you watch CZcams from Eric Wilson, Berean pickets? He has excellent videos and information posted on the Berean pickets website. He’s been helping sincere year XJW’s for many years now in their search for Bible understanding. I appreciate that he is not dogmatic and his explanations of what he has found from his continual study and research of the Bible. He’s from Canada and just recovered from a very very serious operation.

My name Tulip is an acronym for what I now believe Total Depravity Unconditional election Limited atonement Irresistible grace Preservation Until God regenerates our heart we are totally depraved in sin. Unconditional election is that God chose us not according to anything we have done but of his own will. Limited atonement is that Jesus died for his sheep and nothing can take us out of his hand, everyone Jesus died for is saved by his blood only. Irresistible grace is that God chose his people for salvation and we can't resist it. Preservation is no matter what happens to us we have a new home with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ reserved for us the redeemed, the adopted and the purchased possession in the heavenly Jerusalem.

You are a blessing Steve. Thank you for sharing your testimony. I was not raised a JW but joined as an adult in 1996. I was asked to appear at some intimidating hearings in 2004 because I was talking too much about Jesus. I was DF'd and given the label 'apostate' for answering yes to the elder's question "can a person have a relationship with God outside the organization?" I can testify that yes I can!! They honestly believe they are the sole channel through which God speaks to mankind. If a person believes that, they ought to stay in the organization. As for me, I believe Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through HIM (John 14:6)

As a JW for 33 years and trying to Express my concern for my family who are still in, and given up on this now because of the society's brain washing they are very hard to reason with. Your straight forward testimony is both logical and emotional and strikes a chord! Your boys can only wake themselves up and that waking up has started with your loyalty to christ 15 years ago, bless your awakening and your proving true to christ and knowing that, with God all things are possible. In other words be reconciled to God. The apostles said they had the ministry of reconciliation as did John the baptist and Jesus. Paul preached no other gospel. Not become a jw and be saved. Saying something in the name of Jesys is absolutely pointless if you're still dead in your sins and you haven't been reconciled to God.

I was always perplexed at how little recognition JW's gave to Jesus. They will say Jesus is in their publications, but pay attention to how often they use the name Jesus.
It's just not in their vernacular.
I now recognize that not an earthly channel, but ONLY Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! John 14:6

Hi Steve. Your testimony is great! I can relate to 90% of it, but only because I was never an elder. I went through the same embarrassing moments and fears as you, when I had to dress up for the field service and worry about calling on the door of a school friend! I was a J.W. for 42 years. I have been born again since November 2012, and have never felt so free and happy as I do now I have Jesus in my life. Good on you bro. God bless.

Hello Steve ! I’m so encouraged by you not abandoning faith all together as many witnesses do when the wake up. I am totally with you that it’s wrong to lash out against them, bashing them as many do. I believe that’s a disservice to the Glory of God and just gives them fonder. Thank you for your choice to expose error Which is biblical. I too was basically raised a JW but thankfully never got baptized so I haven’t experienced as harsh treatment as many others have in leaving. I was shunned by some in my kingdom hall because they assumed I was baptized and they treated me differently based on what was being printed in the watch tower from month to month regarding disfellowshipped people. His name is Mike Winger and I will strive to send you a link he deals biblically and thoughtfully regarding the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses you can search his channel and listen if I’m not able to send you the link. He has many videos regarding Jehovah’s Witnesses- and does a great job respectively pointing out error in their teaching!

If there’s one thing Holy Spirit enjoys and does perfectly is reveal the Truth, He is the best Teacher. I learnt that and I have learnt that He is also our best intercessor who teaches us to pray too. I have been a Christian all my life but got to know God after my husband died when I was 25 years old leaving me with infants, unemployed. I was angry at God for 6 years but He showed up and healed me, He revealed Himself to me and I got to know Him as a Father and Husband.
Please keep on seeking the Truth and pray that Jehovah fills you with His Spirit so that He can help you in your journey. Be encouraged and May God bless your heart♥️🙏🏽…His yoke is easy and His burden is light

I had those types of encounters in field service. I have come to similar understandings about the ORG and Jesus. I think among other things, we should have realized, calling it "the truth" when GOD'S WORD, says JESUS is the truth.. c"mom. Thx SO MUCH for your word here. But I do know religion is often a barrier to really encountering Jesus. Thank you for your story. I am thinking of the Phillipian jailer who was saved, when Paul and Silas were praising God in prison. He and his whole household were saved. We pray that it will be from the inside out for them as well.

I felt the same way after being disfellowshiped. I thought now what do i do. I prayed to Jehovah all the time for everything. So i i just never stopped praying. They told me nobody could pray for me so i thought well i can pray for me and i did. I also remembered a talk i herd at a meeting about a sister in china that was thrown in prison for having a bible . She was sentenced to 20 years. During that time she had no communication with any witneses had no bible to read. She carved scripture into the wall of verses she knew. Upon release the brother said she was more spiritual and joyfull than a person who was at 3 meetings a week. So i felt that i was ok to pray and have faith and strive to be christ like without being at the kingdom hall. They caused me to loose friends i loved very much and the reasons of being df was not right but they could not take away my love for God or his for me. This was part of how i kept sane and kept living and prayers were answered and continue to be. I actually felt a big weight had been lifted from me. No anxiety of having to sit in a room with 3 men and be asked inapropiate questions and fear of being shunned and they said they pray for Jehovahs holy spirit to guide them in thier decision of disfellowshiping a person and how ironic to say that when 1 or all sitting there judging you are commiting sins as bad or worse than you i dont personally feel holy spirit was flowing through them at all. Before the year was up 2 of them were themselves df.

I served at world headquarters in Brooklyn NY for 5 years, Served as An Elder over a Decade, Service Overseer , Served in Foreign language congregations and in Dominican republic with my wife. 3 plus years ago We (My wife and 3 children that I actually personally baptized at the convention wrote our disassociation letters and turned them in the same day. The reasons are spirituality based and are sad but true. We have suffered but are building real relationships with one another and for me with Christ not Just Religion. I have yet to make any videos, but your testimony is inspiring and encouraging to reach out! Thank you for sharing the test of your life with us! I was just like you, realize I was in a false religion. Then I have to go deep into the bible to find the real truth.. We are supposed to come to Christ not to any religion.. Religion is to courage us to come to Christ. But it is backwards for Jehovah's witnesses..

Steven, what encouragement that you brought. One other comment from Eric mentioned how good it is to see an ex jw who did not abandon their faith in God. I've also watched several videos and even though good information was given, some say they are atheists. It's so sad to hear that. I do believe a separation is happening and this false doctrine is being exposed more and more by God.

What a genuin, open and heartwarming testimony. Thank you very much for sharing your story and for sharing those beautiful bible verses. I hope you will be reunited with your boys. Maybe this will give you some hope. I shunned my Dad and brother, because I tought it was the right thing to do to get them back. But after many many years....I could not do it anymore because I tought it was so unloving. Even if your boys are not ready yet, your new found love for jezus and new happiness and peace of mind can maybe trigger them to investigate the fact, that you and people like me, have peace of mind and are happy without the "organization". I think those that were born in and have generations in this religion/cult have the most interesting stories. I was the very first person in my family to walk away and I didn’t know how much it affected me until years later.

I will remember you today. God was letting you know he never leaves us. He is with us always and he has a plan for you. When doors close he opens a window no one is left in the dark who has the light of Christ to show them the way. So brave to speak out as you did.
My heart goes out to you sir 💔 and all who have experienced and still living through this devastating form of punishment and manipulation. I want to think that these organizations mean well because they truly believe the doctrine they teach is true and do not want their followers to be influenced by others who reject their doctrine, especially someone whose considered an apostate.
Many groups and organizations practice what I call "pre shunning" or "upfront shunning" as opposed to "post-shunning" or "backend shunning;" whereby they encourage and often demand their followers to only fellowship with members only.
One manipulative way they do this is keep the member so busy and creating everything (i.e., events, meetings, holidays etc) surrounding the organization and rewarding members for committing all their time to the organization so that eventually they have no contact or meaning relationships outside of the organization.
Sadly, this more often excludes relatives.

Mr. Jennings, I am a former Jehovah's Witness too and you are absolutely correct about being born again. John 6:44 Jesus said, " No man can come unto me unless my Father who sent me draws him" Before that happens I believe we as people who were dead in sins were totally depraved until God regenerates us to be born again. Enjoyed your testimony, except the part of you losing contact with your children, I wasn't born in the organization I was a proselite and the only one in my family who joined the organization. My experience was alot easier than yours because I didn't have family in Watchtower so I walked away only thinking that I had lost eternal life. Not until I started watching ex JW's online and then reading the Old King James Bible did I realize the Watchtower organization was not Jehovah God's organization. I then rededicated myself to God under sovereign grace, nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ to cover all my sins past, present and future. I now do good works because I am saved and his Spirit operates in me, I am not trying to earn his approval, I just want to please my Father in heaven because he loves me and adopted me and gave his only begotten Son for me. May God bless you Mr. Jennings, I will watch your next video if you choose to make one.

Especially your coming to the realization that the watchtower organization is not even teaching the truth and salvation does not come from being part of that organization but through the blood of Christ Jesus as we exercise faith in that shed blood of his. Do you watch CZcams from Eric Wilson, Berean pickets? He has excellent videos and information posted on the Berean pickets website. He’s been helping sincere year XJW’s for many years now in their search for Bible understanding. I appreciate that he is not dogmatic and his explanations of what he has found from his continual study and research of the Bible. He’s from Canada and just recovered from a very very serious operation.

Until God regenerates our heart we are totally depraved in sin.
Unconditional election is that God chose us not according to anything we have done but of his own will.
Limited atonement is that Jesus died for his sheep and nothing can take us out of his hand, everyone Jesus died for is saved by his blood only.
Irresistible grace is that God chose his people for salvation and we can't resist it.
Preservation is no matter what happens to us we have a new home with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ reserved for us the redeemed, the adopted and the purchased possession in the heavenly Jerusalem.

Steve, what a beautiful soul you have. Thank you so much for sharing your honest story. You give me hope for my brother, still an Elder defending this heinous organisation. I just woke up last year after 49 years born in and have been greatly helped by JWEscape and her refusal to disregard a belief. Seeing Tyndale and Coverdale's bibles in a Bible museum started the process for me. I so hope your family wake up. Sending much love. I might add that I never felt close to Jesus as a JW, now I know why
All things are possible with God. He drew me out so never give up hope for others.
