Ok, I wont lie, I actually feel bad for Ziri. I know she's just a robot but come on, can't help but feel something for her.
QotD: It's definitely a breath of fresh air to see Arfoire be the big bad again and actually taken seriously by everyone... except Nep of course. 😂 I think it's long overdue.

QOTD: To me Arfoire is the Dr. Eggman/Robotnik of the Neptunia series. Sometimes they're a serious legitimate threat, other times they're a complete joke villain who takes a sideline to whoever the actual main villain is

    1. This plot gets more and more peculiar the further along it goes, but it's beginning to come together, slowly but surely.
And yet, I'm now under the impression that we, as the player, have actually been actively misdirected regarding how things will play out. The revelation Nepgear just made regarding Ziri, combined with IF and Histoire's discussion, points towards some rather uncomfortable possibilities. The _exact_ specifics remain in doubt, but the implications are very grim, indeed...
QOTD: I think it's a refreshing change of pace, all things considered.
Despite having been made into a complete joke in _Re;Birth 3,_ she still felt like a real threat _Megadimension,_ despite still being used for comedic effect on several occasions.
However, to say she is at all weak would be to gloss over the context of her appearances following _Re;Birth 2._
Her Ultradimension counterpart in _Re;Birth 3_ operated entirely differently from how her Hyperdimension self did, due to the different method by which CPUs emerged in that world. That Arfoire was less a force of nature and more another cog in the machine that composed the Seven Sages, at least for a little while.
Meanwhile, her _Megadimension_ counterpart was just a recreation of her created from Kurome's memories, not exactly a full representation of her power. Even then, that copy still posed a legitimate threat in her own right during the Z arc (admittedly, no thanks to Croire).
The threat of the Hyperdimension version of Arfoire is still considered to be very real following the events of _Re;Birth 2._ That's very likely why IF was asking herself if they were dealing with the real deal or a copy Kurome left behind in an earlier event; the former is still perceived as a far more serious threat than the latter, even to this day. This game is more or less an effort to reestablish the original Deity of Sin as a legitimate threat in the eyes of the fans, rather than just in the eyes of the characters. If we don't see the return of Arfoire in a full mainline game after this one, I would be simply shocked.

QoTD: I actually like Arfoire a lot, so seeing her being treated as a major threat is very nice in my opinion

This game is all about speculating over the plot, and I loved it exactly because of that, XD
QotD: I like that Arfoire is back to being a mayor threat. But then again, DoS Arfoire was ALWAYS a huge deal, it's just that this specific Arfoire hasn't shown up since ReBirth 2

And Ziri has something inside that Nepgear just started to develop on her N-Gear, hm..

QotD: Even though Arfoire was never treated like The Lich, i don't really see her as comic relief character. Mostly it's just Neptune being Neptune, or Ultradimension being Plutia's playground, or spinoffs like Cyberdimension being silly. Even in the anime, she was a real deal until Pururut and P-ko dropped from sky and derailed everything into V arc.
In fact, there's almost no villains in Neptunia series that are *more* serious than Arfoire.
As for the tone of this particular game, it also seems to be more of a protagonist issue: Neptune would probably deal with Arfoire, F2P, and Gray Sister in much more relaxed manner. After all, even Kurome was properly established while Neptune was kidnapped (which mirrors mk2 and this game) together with other CPUs. And when she was back, one of the first thing she did was giving Kurome that very nickname. In V, Nepgear was specifically stripped from her narrator powers (aside from timeskips), so there was nobody to treat villains as seriously as they might deserve.
This game does a great job at reminding the nature of Arfoire: she was defeated many times and she probably will be defeated again and again, but nobody can finish her completely, or turn into an ally, or seal for good. Arfoire is limited by neither time nor physical form, and on a long term her victory is inevitable. After all, there's no weapon that would get rid of her entirely.
0:40 This dialogue makes me think that the tournament was different in the original scenario: Nepgear was supposed to meet Neptune rather than Alice in the finals, and the tournament itself wasn't supposed to be underground.
This would explain some weirdness in the previous events, the fact that events take place in the Planeptune's arena worldmap-wise, and this specific line. Like, why would defeating Alice and F2P make Nepgear strongest in Planeptune and what does it have to do with Neptune?
I also see why would this be rewritten: it would be too dark to make players fight Neptune as solo Nepgear.
9:07 Did you just... Let Arfoire take the lives of Uni and Rom, right in front of Nepgear?
21:00 Interestingly, nobody considers the other option by that logic: even if there's bigger menace such as Rei, or Kurome, or Ashen Goddess, we don't team up with Arfoire/ASIC.
21:57 This one shows a huge difference between Nepgear and IF in terms of trust capability. Nepgear saw Maho doing superhuman things with her own eyes, but decided to believe in her. IF couldn't catch Arfoire, and started to suspect fellow Planeptuneans...
23:45 On the the other hand, letting Maho and Anri deal with remnants of Ziri after suspecting both would be unwise, and Nepgear doesn't do it.
28:00 Automated factory doesn't mean it's *fully* automated and works without any fleshy people.
According to Ziri, the structural damage was 98.2% and human loss was 74%. The fact that she used at least one digit on the fraction side means the the very minimum of people on that particular factory was exactly 50, and at that point they took care of 37 of them. There's no upper limit: it could be 111 out of 150, or 2553 out of 3450, or even more.
And of course, the objective implied that Ashen Goddess proceeded to eliminate the remaining 26% after that scene.

QOTD: After playing so many Neptunia games for over a decade, I honestly don’t see Arfoire as a serious threat as even though there are games where they take her seriously more often than not, she’s a joke villain and honestly the series have other villains I find better.

I haven't thought about ASIC in a long time. I even forgot about CFW Judge (the one with the hammer), had to look up his name.
    9:00 Pumba jaw drop
14:00 Sounds like a Threee Houses reference, but I bet it isn't
QOTD I missed Arfoire being a threat. When Victory came around, she just became a minor threat.

*1. (**14:53**)* Okay, seriously, Ziri _has_ to - at least _partially_ - be a _Medabots_ reference. She looks just like one, and now she reports on which parts of her are damaged in pretty much the exact same way as in the show _("Left arm damaged 75%. Right arm damaged 100%.")._
*(QotD)* Yes, I agree that - looking at it in a vacuum - it _is_ nice that the Hyper version of Arfoire is competent and menacing.
However, I _can't_ look at in a vacuum after _every single game in the series_ apart from _HDN1,_ _mk2,_ and _Re;Birth2_ have treated Arfoire as pathetically incompetent comic relief.
Whenever she's on screen and the characters are taking her seriously, all I can think of is things like Big Nep's "Arfjord" joke, or Ultra!Arfoire becoming a giant eggplant monster.
To put it in _Fire Emblem_ terms, imagine if all of a sudden with zero foreshadowing, the final boss of the Black Eagles route in _Three Houses_ had been _Acheron,_ and everyone was treating the situation with _complete_ seriousness and acting like he's the most dangerous and powerful foe they've ever faced. _That_ is how jarring this is to me.

Arfoire is the main villain of the series. She should be serious. I just wish they'd go back to the writing style of HDN and Mk. II in terms of tone.
I have replayed through HDN and Mk. II after playing VII-R, and as much as I like VII-R, for some reason, I didn't have any emotional reaction to the plot like I do with HDN and Mk. II even after multiple replays.

As you may remember Microsoft once tried to get into mobile with the Windows phone. So what if the goddess is PC and the candidate was the windows phone ie mobile device
