I'll be closing comments when Chris and I return from our farm trip, where I'll be ready to start working on this book of samples. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I would love to see you make some mug rugs! I think the upholstery fabric would make them really unique! You can use some plain cotton fabric as the backing.and if you want to line them you could or you could or you could use a dark enough backing fabric to not need a lining. They are small enough that you could make them with just 2 or even 3 pieces for each mug rug.
If you cut the fabric at the hole you could make simple key fobs with the little piece of scrap fabric.

Christine do you get silk samples looking for some inspiration some of mine are smaller ❤

Hi from Chicago, love your channel, I've learned a lot from you. Since your shopping bags dropped to the 2nd spot, why not quilt it? Instead of cutting off the area with the hole, use a stud, thinking metal as they come in different colors, or a button, to cover it as that way there is no fabric waste and the studs, or button, give a bit of bling, and the bag is now multi purpose.

Puppy Poo Bags. You could use the hole for the eyelet and you would just have to cut the fabric and sew piece near the end with the hole. I know, you usually use one square piece of fabric. But, you could cut it and make a square out of the fabric. Just an idea using the existing hole.

I love zippered pouches and these would easily make some nice zippered pouches for pencils and things. Also coin purses. I make cell phone cases to keep my cell phones in. I have a flip phone as well as a smart phone. I make a pouch and put a button flap on them and then put the cell phones in my pocket. This keeps them from getting scratched form my keys. I also make pouches to put my cell phone battery chargers in. I keep one in my backpack when I go out. That way, I never have to worry about my battery dying while I am out. Those I use a zippered pouch.

What a job you had taking those fabrics apart. I guess because it's a thicker fabric it limits what you can make with them. Of course the usual 'strips' sewn together shopping bags was my first thought. The smaller pieces with a hole could be used for the doggy bags. Pencil cases - fabric already cut to size. I've recently been making cross-body phone bags - again, this fabric already cut to size. I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions. Enjoy your break away ⏳🌞🌈

The bigger pieces would make great pouches for charger and and plugs etc. And where the hole is put a magnetic button when you make sun/reading glasses case or phone cover. Have fun sorting the suggestions. I'm sure that whatever you chhoose to sew will be brilliant as there are just so many items that will keep you sewing for ages. Patchwork tote bags would be great .

    Hello Christine,
Glad to see you have recovered well from your surgery. You had me worried though trying to pull apart the sample book glad you got Chris to come to the rescue. Here are some suggestions Serviette holders 2 lined squares stitched together with one cnr turned back, good for stopping serviettes from flying away on picnics could also put a weight of some sort in them.
Placemats, coasters, Door stoppers, Stand up pencil case, Jewelery travel pouch or case
To utilise the holes you could make
Key ring covers , put eyelet or grommet over hole & that can be where the cord pulls through.
Drawstring bag or bucket bag & again use the holes to put the grommets which the cord goes through. Whatever you make with them the hole could also be the spot where you sew your labels or a patch/ embellishment. Look forward to see what you end up making with them. Enjoy your well earned break 😀

I make a gusseted phone case. It can actually hold 2 cell phones with a few other small items but is thin and small. The hole can be where the snap closure goes or a decorative tie.
I'd like to see a case to carry a Bible so you'd have to reconstruct some. Some contrasting colors could make pockets for pens, bulletins, etc.
I'd like to see a crayon and a separate colored pencil/drawing pencil case like your tool roll up. Much smaller but holding many more items that are much smaller. Probably with an elastic band holder inside.

Quilt block pillow shams would be pretty. Quilt block tote bags, there are even some other totes the long thin pieces could make. I don't know how to share a link! But, they would work perfectly. Then the smaller pieces could make the card holders. My pattern has less folding, less bulk, but the hole could work for the snap. Those are beautiful swatches. I have different customers than you, but potholders are always a big seller. I've got 4 go to patterns for that, depending on my fabric.

I bought a wobbly Lane brand recliner from the HFH Re-Store for $5 about two years ago. Couldnt repair the mechanism and then the dog chewed up one of the legs. So before I dumped it, I stripped off a whole lot of the jacquard tapestry fabric, it's the high quality stuff that retails for $50-75 per yard. it has a blue in it that matches denim jeans perfectly.
I have all sorts of ideas for things to make out of these pieces

Hi Christine having watched your recent video about your top sellers, I instantly thought with the smaller sets you could make doggy ooo pouches. As your lovely supermarket bags have dropped to No.2 perhaps you could use the other bigger pieces to slightly reinvent them by sewing maybe 2 or 3 pieces together per side to make a slightly bigger supermarket bag? Hope you have a good rest in the farm. My suggestions coming from the U.K.

I’m thinking a purse, use an old sheet for the lining. It is much more durable! Then, use the small pieces to cover a pair of simple ‘angel pumps’ to coordinate. Finally, still using coordinates from the first group, make a ht!
You should have a hat, purse and shoes that coordinate! If you still have any matching colors/patterns, use them as collars and cuffs for a solid jacket.

We're just going into winter, so my ideas are wintry: Under door draft stoppers and small hand warmers (filled with rice to heat up) to pop into coat pockets. Also neck pillows for travel (like the "bone" style pillows). Or jar openers (using some shelf liner as the grippy bits). Is the fabric washable? If so, placemats or trivets would be nice.
