- Editor's Note: I mistakenly put that the safe combination (00:23:46) was the "hardest" puzzle in the game, I forgot the brain radiography puzzle (00:30:29) existed. My fault, that one is definitely harder.
DSP tries to overcome the forces of darkness and Stationary Neggaroth. If I had a dollar for every time DSP ranted and raved about something stupid or tried to revise history during this playthrough for multiple minutes, I'd have 2 dollars, which isn't a lot but it's interesting it happened twice and during the same segment in an Egyptian Pyramid.

I will say one thing. I am ashamed to admit it but without DSP playing this game, I would not even think about trying it. I am not at all fan of these Resident Evil-style games but this one really captivated me. Especially Emily's route really resonated with me.

Yep, he makes crappy jokes etc, to spoil the tense mood the game is trying to build. You know if anything even close to this was happening irl, he'd be freaking out for sure.
Yeah its one of those tactics people employ at like a haunted house when theyre like "oooooh sooooo scary wow pfff" in order to try to reduce immersion as much as possible to feel less from the things, particularly horror things.

This game was good but it was incredibly easy. Yet, gigabrain over here still needs a chat full of dents to show him the way. Amazing.
It wasn't that good TBH. Kinda clunky and I lost count how many times my character got stuck in the environment. It did have potential though they just dropped the ball.
@@Derek_The_Magnificent_Bastard I was wondering about the getting stuck on environment thing if it was a console thing. It didn't happen to me once in the 18 hours it took me for both campaigns. I played it on PC.
@@AdriftForWeeks I played it on PC and it happened A LOT for me and I played both as Emily and the P.I. character. Luckily this game has a pretty robust saving system so I never was set back too far.

hey outsyder can you do this is how you dont play night in the woods
they do the accuracy loss if you fire shots in quick succession as a gameplay mechanic BUT i have NEVER found it to be true in real life with small to medium handguns for example even handguns as big as a .45 ACP i've always been able to keep on target pretty easily while mag dumping so i've come to see this rise in dispersion as more of a gameplay mechanic instead of realism when it comes to small to medium handguns
Maybe they're trying to simulate lowered accuracy due to tension when under fire? I've read about a number of times soldiers displayed terrible accuracy in gunfights while otherwise having good aim at the range

I know Civvie 11 is know for his Sewer Level Counter, but that is too deep cut for DSP. So probably AVGN did that.
This game looks ridiculously bad.
It's trash and the reviews show that. Unfortunately, Phil has to pretend it's good in order to justify the whale money he spent on it.
It’s very cheaply made, and often times there is barely any variety to warrant one to continue engaging with the story, or even bother any subsequent playthroughs.
Overall, would not recommend.

I didn't find it offensive or anything, it's maybe too accurate to the 1992 original. Simple gameplay, couple bugs, very linear but something really clicked with me when came to Emily's part of the story. Edward is a bit generic noir detective hero but Emily isn't. Hell, I liked her in the 1992 original, and I am liking her in this. They tried to write her out since Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare but she is finally back.
