    Would've been nice for him to have shown some of the adjusting. Did he adjust the sensor bracket position or something in the software? Are you actually calibrating the sensors or just confirming proper sensor positioning? Some more information would be helpful here.

    Excellent video. Do you mind sharing with me the reflector distance on the right and left rear of a lexus Rx350 2015 and also the distance at mid point from the rear. Should my reflector light be pointed towards a dot located on the bsm module

    • @airbagsunlimited
      @airbagsunlimited  Před 8 měsíci

      I would need to hook up to your vehicle and enter the calibration procedure for your vehicle to confirm the distance. Once the correct distance is achieved, I center my corner reflector laser to the center of the blind spot module.

    Why would my drivers side be shorter than my right side on my 2020 Camry? It was fine until I took it to the dealer for an oil change. No dents or marks on bumper. Did you say the sensor starts at 28” inches behind the car??

    • @erl7466
      @erl7466 Před rokem

      nope. you need the obd interface, oem or other tool sys and the approved targets. all are expensive as hell. not to mention you have to apply to your pcm which you do NOT want to do without experience and training.

    A bsm malfunction alert popped up all of a sudden while driving my 2016 HV Rav4, and bsm stopped working since then. The dtc is c1ac1 master module misalignment.Tried to clear the code but it didnt work. I had no accident except for a cracked tail light long time ago, which i recently found it to be filled with water. Can water leakage to the bsm radar lead to such an issue?

    • @airbagsunlimited
      @airbagsunlimited  Před 3 lety

      Yes, water leakage could be part of this issue. A thorough inspection of the bsm module, harness, and molex plug needs to be performed. Once the inspection has been completed, if there are no signs of water damage, or wiring harness/molex plug damage, a calibration will most likely need to be performed.

    Have a question can the system or the sensor can be Adjust to detect because more far back

    • @airbagsunlimited
      @airbagsunlimited  Před 3 lety

      No, the factory blind spot sensors are set by the manufacturer. They cannot be adjusted out. Deviation from the factory location is not possible.

  • @drwatson1234
    @drwatson1234 Před 3 lety

    A customer with a 2019 Sienna went to the dealer to repair damage to the bumper cover on the driver side. They said that they cannot just fill in scratches and respray the damaged section because respraying a bumper will interfere with the BMS. Is that true? Furthermore, this car has the sonic peep holes on the bumper. Does that mean that it does not even have BMS which is radar and if it had radar it would not need the sonar peep holes?

    • @airbagsunlimited
      @airbagsunlimited  Před 3 lety

      The Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system use modules on the left and right side under the tail lights. If the bumper cover is damaged in the area of the these sensors, you do not want to use any kind of bondo or filler to repair. Liability wise, most insurance companies and shops will replace the bumper cover. OEM repair procedures recommend you use OEM parts, not after market. The bondo or the plastic repair material will block the sensors from working properly. The park pilot sensors in the bumper cover are for assistance in backing up and parking. They are a separate system from the BSM. Most of the newer vehicles today are equipped with BSM and park pilot sensors and additional ADAS systems.

    Can both modules function as slave or master, or are they physically different and I need to purchase a slave module or a master module?
    Thank you in advance

    • @airbagsunlimited
      @airbagsunlimited  Před 4 lety +1

      Toyota differentiates the master and slave modules as left or right. This terminology is used in most scan tools. I believe the last Toyota I calibrated had the master module as the right side, and the slave module was the left side. The left and right modules are side specific. You need to confirm which module is faulty. Once you confirm which side is bad, have your VIN# handy when you call the dealership.

    Hello, i recently got a message on my car dashboard while driving; it said "Check BSM system", i connected a computer to it and tested it and i got the C1AC2 message (Slave Module Horizontal Axis Misalignment). Can i calibrate it by myself using a DLC2 connector WITHOUT removing the bumper? because my bumper is screwed in to the car's body from an accident years ago and i don't want to go through the trouble of unscrewing and repainting it. I'll be waiting for your reply

    • @airbagsunlimited
      @airbagsunlimited  Před 3 lety

      That diagnostic fault code indicates the BSM sensor being out of alignment/range of the factory pre-set parameters. Something has altered the position of the slave BSM sensor to trigger the dash mil light/fault code. To properly calibrate the slave BSM sensor, you will need to remove the bumper cover, have the proper ADAS scan tool with ADAS software, proper open space, proper measurements per the vehicle, and proper target to align the BSM module. What is the year, make, and model?
