  • On this week's episode we join Mike Reed on the hunt for the biggest whitetail he's ever harvested. Not only is the buck giant, but the recovery for the deer leads Mike into the river. Then we join Jake Sproule, Mike's camera man who is able to tag a great buck on public land in Iowa. Jared Mills provides an update on the Mystery buck ultimately closing the story. Finally, we get updates from the rest of the team.

Might be best episode of MW Whitetail yet. Mike's hunt, wow. Has it all. Jake snort wheeze, then absolutely SMOKED that buck, and public land makes it even sweeter. Great work guys, we really enjoy the channel.

Well done video! But i have to call bunk on passing on a 200 inch buck on public land, nun the less privet land. Cant say i have ever heard of anyone who has done that regardless of the bucks age. I am in a coop in Georgia about 2800 acres . Our minimum is 130 inches and we pass on a fare amount of deer that size. I would say we will only see 10 to 20 percent of those deer the next year.

Mike what an awesome deer and the hunt well let’s say the recovery was one of the best stories I’ve heard in a long time using that drone to find a deer was so cool and you got lucky on that one but I do have one question do you even remember being cold after you drag that deer across the river I bet not because I remember a time when to I had to drag a mature buck across neck deep water and I can’t remember being cold at all man really truly appreciate all the videos and the time you guys put in everything getting videos out and the effort you guys have put into showing what it means to be a true hunter is really inspirational even if you don’t think so it’s impacting people you can count on it because for sure right now your videos and the way your hunt has impacted my life thank you for bringing this to us🇺🇸💪🙏 as always stay safe out there and no matter what keep moving forward😎

@@casonash7028 hunting public has turned to shit in past 2 years. Having all these dipshits on talking about big spikes. Hunting from a damn swinging saddle like a girl and shooting scrub bucks. They need to get back to lock ons, Iowa hunting, mature deer management and passing scrubs or I will not watch them anymore. That mike and joe from that other show had ruined hunting public for me, out there in a red flannel cigarette smoking in the tree talking about I'm gonna shoot that big spike..... that's when you know hunting public has went to shit

But if he isn't perfectly quartering away then I won't take a shot at him with my bow.....Paul Blackburn, you Sir need to let someone proofread your no brain comments from now on.

You add up the lenght of all the tines, the length of the beams and the circumference around each beam in four places per side. Then you throw in the width inside the beams to come up with what we call "total gross score". For official scoring they then deduct for certain differences between the two antlers. We always just use total gross because it is much easier to calculate and visualize. Good luck deer hunting. You will love it.

Historically we haven’t shown the kills on the blogs but this year we are trying it out. The main channel has 80k or so subscribers so there are many people that don’t watch the blogs. The blogs come out daily or as close to it as we are hunting. The main show comes out every Monday. We try to highlight the main action on the main show including things that were shown on the blogs since so many people don’t see the blogs. Hope that makes sense. We appreciate feedback.
