Played on my 87 Warwick Streamer passed through my custom MODEP pedalboard for the effects (Check this out: • Raspberry PI 3 + MODEP... )
As always, no digital editing has been made... In the final part I had fun :D
Bringing back th 80's sound!
Released February 1982. One of the best basslines of all time.
I grew up with this one.. :)
I was 2 years old then 😳
Imagination was in another realm of time paradox and space....... If you hear music in your head like me .... I've been humming & playing this brilliance like all week ..... It keeps me in a happy mindset throughout the days at work ..... Yes these guys had a sound way beyond comprehension..... I heard their two other tracks on 45 rpm back in the day ..... Then this phenomenal brilliance.... I love this baseline tribute ...... Nicely done!!!! ✌🏿❤️😊

Seriously think I have watched this video like 20 times so far. Absolutely great work! My daughter started learning bass in lockdown and she's doing great, I have told her to watch this and learn some more! Imagination had a killer bassline in Music and Lights as well, maybe not as good to play but when it goes to the chorus it's a thing of beauty. Thanks from the UK!

@@aFunkyBass The bassline is what makes this song such a hit IMO. According to Doctor Mix, it was originally played on a Roland SH-1000 synthesizer so quite amazing to see you replicating that on an actual bass guitar.
@@mohalhakeem I didn't know which synth was used for the bass part, but they've been using this kind of sound for many of their hits. Love it!
I've filtered my bass quite a bit to get close to that synthie sound. A compressor chained to an octaver and a chorus did the trick. Like I said in the description, I use a MODEP pedalboard, it's a wonderful FOSS project for Raspberry PI. I only use free and open source software. :)

Yeah imagination songs were all about the strong bass ,.,,that’s what got me in to them back in the 80s ,.,.there on stage over the top performance hid a classic bass funk riff ,through all there songs ,.,.I listen to it now and still love it

Goin to try learn this one you cracked the bass line, Octaver is nice. Bit harder to sing tho at same time may have to drop a semitone or wear tight trousers. Bass on Bro. Love it.
