Wow, almost the entire class graduated. Unheard of around the early 2000s.

Why do all these videos make it look like a pretty chill time. It may be mentally and physically challenging but also fun?

It’s definitely a tough challenging school. That’s why there are only 340 ish active duty swimmers in the whole coast guard! If you’re going to try to be a swimmer candidate at the school make sure you’re physically and mentally ready for the challenge! Good luck!

Awesome video! I'm looking to start my rescuer swimmer journey in about a year. Do you think that's enough time to train my mind and body to prepare for the long challenging journey?

What was the hardest part about AST a school and do you have any advice

    • @josephatallah7921

Hardest part of school is honestly just knowing it’s not over till it’s over. It’s a 6 month grind day in and day out. Some advice for would be go into school with that spartan type mindset, “give them nothing, but take from them everything”. Basically even if you’re hurting or tired... don’t show it, it only takes one second of energy to steal every bodies... and then you have all the energy you need! Good luck!

Just go in with a good attitude, be positive everyday, work hard * 10, and don’t ever quit man. 10 percent physical, 90 percent mental.
