    An obvious change in certain design has brought about this typical problem!

    I had the same problem on our whirlpool washer. I ordered the suspension kit and installed it, today. It was a bitch. I only have two hands and you need three to install the new suspension into the sockets. One, to lift up the tub, one to lift up the suspension rod and one to insert it in the socket. It took me about four hours but I got them all in without any drips, runs or errors ( cuts on my arms). I think it was caused by a bent suspension rod, but there were no centering springs on the suspension rods and I do not think it ever had any, because they were not hanging inside the machine or on the floor under it.

    I had to tear apart my 25+ year old Amana dryer a few months ago to replace several parts that had worn out. This washer repair looks far easier than that job. My new washer is making the same bumping sounds and I’m sure I will be needing to replace these support arms on it before long.

    Use a file or even your vice grips or anything metal to run across those sharp edges of the metal and check them again, they should be smooth and won't cut you. I got sliced open pretty good putting a cord on a stove and then I used my ratchet to run across the sharp edges and I was able to do it without getting cut.

    • @DIYRepairsNow

      When the washer machine is off balance the most common thing is the shocks You also got to make sure the four legs are adjusted and the cabinet is not touching the floor the third thing it could be the shaft which is part of the drum but that’s not common

    Check first to see if there's any water sloshing at the top if you don't hear the water at the top and it's going to be unbalanced whether or not you replace the suspension. the top isn't balanced it's going to shake whether even if there isn't clothes in there. Our company has been running into this a lot. Anything from 2017 til now replacing the suspension rod doesn't fix the issue.

      My part is tub ring W10849477 just plastic with no fluid. I inspected it for cracks and saw nothing. What can be bad with this besides it having cracks or broken pieces.

    so my whirlpool washer during the spin cycles shakes and hits the side walls. The shocks dont look like there is any type of break or anything on it is there supposed to be springs on the sides of the drum on this video I dont see any springs but other ones I do see em. ANY input on this would be appreciated I'm trying to fix it myself rather than spending another 3-400 on a washer... its about 3 years old the washer

    • @DIYRepairsNow
      @DIYRepairsNow  Před 2 lety

      The springs are going to look like new but they get weak that’s why they are not working correctly and if your washer doesn’t have the little springs on the side that means the model doesn’t need them

      @@DIYRepairsNow Another maybe dumb question is I replaced the shox and it still shakes like crazy... is it possible that I didn't get the right shox? The springs did look smaller on the new ones but i replaced them and it still was aggressive during the spin

      Click this link in second 30 it shows you how to push down the drum if the drum Bounce more than ones that means the shocks are bad the drum only supposed to bounce ones

    Whirlpool should fire someone for this design. They will give them a pay-off for all the money in parts and repair they made them after the guarantee ran out.

    It's not so much it's off balance it's when the clothes are off balance or heavy like a fleece blanket it bangs the sides and doesn't dry my clothes and stays on rinse cycle for like 2 hours. It's really really annoying I don't care if it walks across the floor I just want it to dry my g dang clothes. There has to be some sort of sensor to tell it to not to spin when off balance.
