  • Since in my last video I featured removing a huge air layer from the Brazilian Rain Tree that I have growing in the ground, I thought I'd show you another older air layer that I have growing in a bonsai pot. This tree is coming along nicely. It needs to fill out a little more and, as will all bonsai, will continue to be refined over time. The next time I repot I'm going to change the front just slightly to accentuate the curvature of the trunk compared to the existing front. Please subscribe and hit the notification bell so that you can follow this tree on its journey. Thanks for watching!

I love your tree! I have my eye on one of these. Can they be indoor bonsais? I live in NC so I don't think our climate (zone 7a) would be good for them in winter.

They will definitely need cold protection in NC. I recommend growing it outside for as long as it's hot and then bring it into a heated greenhouse in the winter. The interior of a house, especially in winter. has virtually zero humidity that makes it very difficult to keep humidity loving tropical trees. I hope that helps and good luck!
