Supravat Mukerjee, Sarbari Roy Choudhury, Amar Sanyal, Ahmed Ali Khan, Atma Gidwani, Krishna Hegde, Gopalkrishnan, John Wilton and a few others. Unfortunately, some of my friends are no more there. I am uploading my collection for the for the benefit of music lovers, before it is too late.
Ustad Amirkhan is the greatest artist in world of Indian Classical music.
The poise and repose exploiting the beauty of Swarasthans and it's connectivity meditatively makes AK's music outstanding and without a parallel. The meditation makes AK's music divine and worthy of worship.
With most of the other musicians and artist of this genre I found Kowshik Kanada sung as two ragas Malkouns and Darbari patched but in AK it is just seamless single entity of musical charm and identity.
What an artist.
As a western Sarode student for the past 50 years I love these recordings, it helps me understand Raags more fully. Thank you.

Many thanks for uploading such a rare gem from your vintage collection. In these days when gimmicks and acrobatics are almost distorting proper raagdaari, it is so helpful to listen to maestros' renditions to understand and appreciate a raaga, not to mention learn a few nuances.
Many thanks to the lover of classical music who had uploaded this video of Ut Amir Khan's live performance for enabling other music lovers to have an experience of attending to this rare vocal musical performance of Ustadji ,particularly on such a typical Raga.
This recording is simply one of the best of what I have heard of Ustad. Truly outstanding.

Ustadaji all time great
Raga Kaushi Kanara is apparently a very difficult Raga since it has much similarity with the Raga Malkosh wherein the note Pancham is excluded alongwith the note of Rekhab also. Malkosh is therefore called an ourab Raga consisting of only 5 notes. Whereas in Kaushi Kanara, the note Pancham is included. It is also very similar to Raga Darbari Kanara which results in confusing it as a mixture of Ragas Malkosh and Darbari Kanara. But virtually it is a separate Raga having its own identity.Unless the performer,be it vocal or Instrumental, is aware of this fact,there lies the chance of messing it up. An artiste of the calibre of Ut Amir Khan Saheb could render this complex Raga ,properly. His performance was always above board . His voice was his asset. The listeners could enjoy his style of singing both Kheyal and Tarana as well as the performance of Ut Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Saheb,simultaneously,for his exceptional style of singing easily ,specially Thumri,besides Khayal ang of classical music. He was a gem.
