One of the finest and divine sarod players on this universe is Ustad Bahadur Khan,
Today, tomorrow, and forever.
He really kept the legacy of Maihar Gharana like AAK, Maa Annapurna and Pt. Vasant Rao.
Their melody is unforgettable.
Long live Maihar Gharana.
When this world comes to an end, let Ustad Bahadur Khan's raag kaunshi kanada be the last melody celebrating this beautiful creation of God ! TRANSCENDENTAL.!!!
Such a perfect combination of sarod and tabla has a divine appeal..
@@joydevghosh8017 Sarod. Not Sitar.
@@tagorechandmeah425 right sir.i have corrected it now.
He taught in summer 1968, at the Ali Akbar College of music when it was in Berkeley. I got incredible Rajeshri from him. He played a Dha with andalan that made me scream right in class. There is a recording of Nat Bhairav made at that time that is one of the greatest ever.
I've only just discovered him via CZcams. What a find. His tone and emotional content is unique. His Dabari is incredibly touching
AN IMMORTAL RECORDED PIECE, THIS IS A WORK OF ONE THE VERY GREATEST SARODIYAS KNOWN ON RECORDED MUSIC ON EARTH: THE GURU OF PANDIT TEJENDRA NARAYAN MAJUMDAR.
I am a Sarod and Steel Guitar player and took lessons from Ustad Bahadur khan till death in 1989
If ever the universe had a sound, if ever nothingness & everything could be distilled into a note, if ever space, the whirling galaxies, the cosmos could be heard : THIS would be that sound.
Mesmerized. Really, not exegerrating. Just discovered this great maestro through CZcams.🙏🙏
I always love to hear Bahadur Khan. I had the pleasure of studying with him a bit when he taught at the Ali Akbar College in 1969 or thereabouts. His lyricism is gorgeous.
Baba's Disciple indeed
No Ustad dies ever.. He is very much alive now as I listen to him in my heart space.
This piece has a beautiful raw, textural quality to it, like a weaver with his weft bringing together the magic of colour and form! Spreading magic and joy to my soul!
In gratitude. 🙏💛💛💛💛
How on earth did he get that tone from the sarode ?
I have not heard anything so spiritual ….even from the great masters...all respects to them. This is a sound plumbed from the depths of the universe....listen at 6:44...the deep sadness, the grief, the grand tragedy of our existence, the distilling of the nad, the brahman, the cosmic comedy and complete insignificance and majesty of human existence, all at once, together.
Bahadur Khan goes beyond words, beyond description...even beyond ourselves.
Well said
Rare performance.Heart touching so sweet and joyful, beyond expression.
I got chances to hear him sitting in front
Of him.So lovely and divine.
@@kamalbiswas658lucky you.
What a wonderfully inspired performance. Badadur Khan was much overshadowed by Ali Akbar Khan which is a shame as I always admired this man's musicality. Also interestingly he broke a string!!
Marvelous, melodious and mind-blowing incredible rendition indeed.🙏🙏🙏💐🌹🌷🥀🌻🌺🌸🏵️♥️😇
Ethereal raag played so beautifully by this sage
It's always a rare privilege to hear Khansaheb. I had the privilege of meeting him for the first time in 1979, when we were both featured at a music festival in Kolkata. His performance was, quite easily, the most outstanding of the festival.
Khan Saab has given a new dimension of sound to the sarood, mesmerizing, intricate, ultimately soul soothing
One of the finest sarod recitals in my humble opinion, I've been listening to this for more than 15 years when I first found it. Sublime tonal quality, and the tabla is playful, enjoyable, and deeply musical in this performance. Also, there might be some debate about whether this is Raga Kaunsi Kanada or Kaushiki. If someone with knowledge can share, it would be interesting to analyze the raga's unfolding.
Where is the last Sam gone from this LP ? Seemed like just could not see the world end !!!
have always liked his playing for his lyricism+melodious interpretations of raags. Akin to Radhika Mohan's gharana than Maihar gharana; may be he grew up in the alluvial planes of Bangladesh and had that softness in him. Technically his playing some things which was his own. This is a very good piece indeed
Wonderful ! Unmatchable, very well improvised, tonal quality of sarod is of par excellence. Depth of swar is maintained in the whole performance.
my guruji pt. shankar ghosh showed what is sound modulation
A great and very rare posting.
Thank you for your gift.
It was known that, the ustadji commuted between East Pakistan / Bangladesh and India. We are so fortunate that he was able to perform in all the sub continental countries.
Wah Wah ... Kamal hai ...
simply great !! I fell in love with this Lp in 1974, thanx very much.
Gr8 & Powerfull performance! Wah Wah!

A hidden gem. The sound he makes are eternal sound I had waited so long to hear. Please upload more of his music if possible. Thank you.
Lifts us to a divine plane.
Just brilliant also tabla accompaniment. Unfortunately I could not listen Ustadji in live concert.
Absolutely brilliant!! He did a very unique style. Thank you for posting.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
for posting this very very rare Raga from this great sarodia
sometimes if i hear this Raga i think it is BABA ALLAUDIN KHAN who play this piece.
BAHADUR KHAN a very great Sarodia in the same line of allaudin khan and his son ali akbar khan
a musician
thank for the quality in yours researches
Bahadur Kaka ' the left-in player' of Maihar-seni gharana. Two center forward baba Ali Akbar & Pd. Ravi Sankar. Right-in is Pd. Jotin Bhattacharya
Amazing !!!
Superb!
tx for posting this. we dont hear enough kaushi kanada these days. it was a popular raag in the 70s.
also do you know who accompanied bahadur khan on tabla?
Daljit Bhai just to clarify this is Pandit Shankar Ghosh on Tabla.
sorry, my big brother u are right Daljit Singh Gabri From Jamshedpur
pd. Mahapursh Mishra He is my Ghru he is on Tabla. Iam Daljit Singh Gabri form Jamshedpur.
I was not at the concert and absolutely love pt Mahapursh Mishra but I genuinely believe this was pt Shankar Ghosh playing...all the material is typical of his gharana, the tribute to Benares laggi (Dhigadhina etc...) is the version composed by Keramatullah Khan given to many students of Shankar Ghosh...compare with his acompaniement of Ali Akbar Khan's Kirwani or Vilayat Khan's Ahir Bhairav or Darbari, the link is quite obvious to me...
if is there any other audio or video of ustad bahadur khan u have , pl kindly up load them.i will be obliged. thanks.
from where can i download this in mp3 form?
Who is in Tabla? A matching great he is .Thanks for the upload.
Pandit Shankar Ghosh ❤️
On Tabla Sri Anil Bhattacharya
No... it's Pt. Shankar Ghosh
תודות לנפלאות הנשמעות בחלל העולם על ידי בהדור קאן
?😞
This is NOT Kaushi Kannda! listen to it carefully, DNP-GMRS is absent. More like malkauns ascending and sampurnpa malkauns descending, It's Kaushiki
Right you are
