Cambrie mentions she's dairy free, however is eating grass fed butter in this video which is definitely not dairy free.
Many of you have mentioned her DEBLOAT Magnesium that Cambrie sells. These are a form of laxatives and I want to caution the use of laxatives for "weight loss". Some concerns with laxatives is that they can cause dehydration, electrolyte imbalance and dependence. Also, laxatives don't lead to any actual fat loss, you're just losing waste and can cause more harm than good.
Hey guys, in another edition of the What I Eat in a Day CZcamsr Review we’re taking a closer look at the diet of fitness CZcamsr Fit with Cambrie. Cambrie is a fitness health blogger, influencer, actress and model. She’s built a huge following on Instagram and CZcams and offers meal plans, leads fitness classes and even Skype sessions to get you the “beach body of your dreams”.
What I Like About Cambrie’s WIEIAD:
    Balanced Easy Meals
Cambrie’s meals are simple and balanced. In most of her meals, she makes sure that she is combining a healthy balance of carbohydrates, protein and fat to make the meal or snack satiating until her next meal. Aside from the morning, her meals and snacks are fairly consistent and regular throughout the day. She typically eats every 2-4 hours. This is likely to ensure she’s eating enough in her eating window to align with her fasting schedule.
    Limited Restrictions
Aside from avoiding dairy and gluten, Cambrie seems to enjoy eating a variety of foods and does not encourage people to avoid large food groups.
What I Dislike About Cambrie’s WIEIAD
    Low Caloric Intake
Cambrie is not taking in a lot of calories. Recommended daily caloric intake for moderately active and active women between the age of 19-35 is between 2,000 - 2,400. In one day, Cambrie is clocking in around 1,900 calories which is on the very low end of the recommended calorie amount especially given that she is highly active. Like I mentioned, for someone who is a VERY active fitness influencer, her food intake is not complimenting her active lifestyle. Her carb intake is below the average, her protein intake is moderate and her fat intake is above average. She seems to following a lower carb, higher fat diet with moderate protein. Cambrie is getting a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains and healthy fats, and seems to be meeting her micronutrient needs.
    Triggering, Toxic, Orthorexic Language
Throughout her video, Cambrie subtly distinguishes good food and bad and probably mentions the word “clean” like five times. Several times she mentions how summer is approaching and the importance of having a bikini bod which can add a ton of pressure on individuals with disordered eating thoughts.
    Where’s the Credibility
I briefly touched on this earlier. Cambrie provides a ton of fitness and nutrition advice, but I don’t see any credentials to support her “expert opinion”. Cambrie also offers a Skype q&a diet session. For $100 and only 30 minutes you can get diet advice from someone who isn’t likely licensed to give diet advice.
A few things I want to leave you with. Screw the summer/festival/beach bod and screw clean eating. Eat what feels good to you, and be good to your body, because it’s a friggin rockstar.

Same. I have to work with a dietitian rt but she is doing several things that Abby says not to do. We limit certain food groups and everytime I think I find something healthy but also tastes good she says there’s too many carbs or fats or calories or not enough protein. It’s like I’m supposed to eat plain meat and veggies and limit my fruit.

I'm honestly just tired of the whole L.A youtuber, obsessed with being hot, taking endless videos of their bodies thing. Of course they're beautiful, of course their bodies are incredible....but what else? The older I get the more I just don't find that content uplifting anymore. It just feels shallow and unfulfilling. You don't need to spend all your time 'earning' your confidence through dieting ladies! Be healthy. But also realize that you have more to offer than a nice body. You have thoughts and feelings and knowledge and a complex inner world that needs attention. ♥️

I wish you would have touched on her “debloat pills” that are 300mg magnesium. From her other videos she and other girls take 3+ pills at a time. I’m not a doctor but from what the internet is saying excess magnesium can cause diarrhea which makes me worry people are using these “debloat pills” the same way someone would abuse laxatives. She’s always working on developing lollipops to “curb” appetite and cravings. I feel a lot of her newer videos/IG posts are leaning more towards unhealthy habits.

I think they include a lot of body positivity and they have a RD on staff, but they also promote alkaline eating, eating 6x a day, and working out once in the morning and once in the afternoon (although they may have dropped this in recent years), and some other odd rules. EDIT: They also sell a lot of their own merchandise, some of it featured in Target. They also have the 7 Day Slim down where you follow a restrictive meal plan to get ready for an event or photoshoot.

I have a chronic illness and everyone, especially people on the internet, want to attribute it to diet when they have no idea what my diet or lifestyle has been most of my life. I have to be very adamant and say "no celery juice will not cure me. I'm just sick". There is so much research with more and more proof that illness can be cause by any thing from our genes to trauma to the trauma passed down in our genes. We're affected by so many factors.

It’s not about staying “lean”. Body fat has a role too. We don’t need a 6 pack to be healthy, and the fact that you have to restrict and exercise to exhaustion to get there suggests it’s not necessarily natural or healthy either. I’ll chat about this more soon

moths from neptune I hear you but these influencers aren’t just talking about “not having excess fat” to prevent heart disease, they’re trying to have six packs and look hot in bikinis and show it off. They often obsess over having the perfect diet or overexercise. There’s a big emphasis being placed on achieving the “perfect” physical aesthetic and that can be unhealthy for viewers who are predisposed to disordered eating or who just want to not feel bad about their non-“perfect” bodies. Obviously you can care about your aesthetic but continuing to bring up and promote getting a “beach body” to your followers is kind of toxic. Also if people focus on exercising and eating healthy for their mental and physical health they will still likely achieve changes in their body size (unless they have certain health conditions or are on medications that prevent weight loss), so you don’t have to obsess over being skinny in order to have a lean body.

Just going to add this in, but Cambries fitness isn't technically meant for every day people. She is a model, who encourages other models to eat and exercise instead of leaning to anorexia or bulimia. Shes talked often about the modeling industry having a negative affect on the models which leads to negative effects on the public who look up to them. She is just trying to show her process of staying as she says "glowing and healthy" in the modeling industry. So lets not attack Cambrie as her heart is in the right place. She isn't trying to trigger people.

Also, what do you suggest for weight loss? You’re very clear on what doesn’t work, which is great, but what does work? What about when people really do need to lose some weight for health (as per their GP’s advice) and happiness?

Leah Staples hey Leah I’ll talk about this soon but ultimately, Intuitive eating may lead to weight loss if you’re above your natural weight

Abbey Sharp you really need to delve into what that means because most people are “intuitively” eating themselves into obesity. If I let my body really dictate what “it wants” - not what it needs - it will want pizza, chips and salsa, burgers, etc. I’ve gained 20 pounds in a month doing what my body told me to do. I know what you’re getting at but not everyone can go from SAD to “intuitive” eating without understanding what that means and, really, what to ideally eat. And, yes, you know some foods are better than others. Thought no food is “bad”, right?

DeeDee Reish there’s an awesome video of Evelyn Tribole - who “founded” intuitive eating - in a lecture format. She explains habituation - that once you let yourself eat all the “treats” you will gradually want less of them. For me, I had a long period of having food restrictions based on income (e.g. I was poor AF) during which all the free food was pizza and cookies and other stuff that people normally love. When the income situation changed I found I was stuffing myself on veggies and fresh fruit like to the point of getting sick - things I couldn’t have because of expense - and even though I love pizza I don’t ever crave it because I had so much of it- So sorry for The aside - I know Abbey has said she’ll cover it in an upcoming video - but in the mean time the Evelyn Tribole video might be helpful? She’s really hilarious & fun to watch.

Maggie Juliano thanks! it’s ok. I’m all good now. And I know what you mean about not wanting those things you OD’d on. I have no problem eating intuitively NOW. I just know that my body wants different things now. I don’t think a lot of people get there without some sort of transition from highly addictive frankenfoods to real food. I was lucky enough to be around before it got this crazy and to have been raised without constant snacking. I just kinda went crazy when I DID have my own money and bought stuff my parents would’ve never bought like sweetened cereals and other treats. Fortunately it was short lived because the foods still weren’t quite as addictive as they are now and..... I couldn’t afford a larger wardrobe so. I love Abbey and think she makes a lot of sense but the i intuitive eating thing is not understood by people in general - unless they’re already “there”.

I'd really like you to review Gojiman. I was an avid follower of his and I almost purchased three of his SIBO tests. Before I splashed out on them I decided I should check his credentials first. He claims to be a nutritionist and doing a PHD. But I can't see anywhere on his channel or website where he lists his credentials.

To be honest it's unsurprising when people who basically build their brand/public image/business around 'fitness' or their physicality in a large part, will not make statements that may perhaps be considered 'triggering'. So personally, I don't know if I have an issue per se with their views and their choice to express them even though I do acknowledge it may be inappropriate and potentially harmful. What I find more problematic and bothersome is statements along the lines 'you guys should only use x product/do x workout because 'insert psuedo-science here' or because I do.' When you have a position in which you can influence people's decisions, this seems like a terrible idea and potentially more harmful than just sharing how you think or feel with regards to yourself and your opinions.

I love how you think, and love your message. I have 2 young kids and I am very afraid of this pervasive ridiculous diet culture and how it could potentially affect them. It affected me in a big way. I want to do everything that I can to help them love themselves, be proud of who they are and not worry so much about food. This seems such an unfulfilling way to live. All you think about is what, when and how much to eat.
