Wow, Ryan, I don't know if you've ever sounded better. The smoothness and control in your voice belong to a past time, when singers really knew how to sing. You remind me of people like Mel Torme and Tony Bennett in style and talent. Merry Christmas, good man. I hope the new year is great to you.
@@RyanQuinn Thanks for the reply. Listening to this again, the sophistication of your control of vibrato and those dynamic changes to bend the mood are even more impressive. I hope you are happy these days. Thanks again for blessing us with your talent
Perfection. You are gifted with a vocal instrument that you know and play the way Pablo Casals and Isaac Stern played their instruments. Grateful to you for sharing your gift.
Ok. You beautifully play piano too. Still friendly hating you :) I have a question for you, I am a great fan of Cornell's voice - that's how I met your channel (thank YT algorithm!). But you have an incredibly versatile voice. Aside from Chris Cornell (I think), who would you say helped you shaping your vocal style?
Hah! Thank you very much! I’d say Chris Cornell, Jeff Buckley, and Sam Cooke are my big three. There are certainly others that have influenced me (Stevie Wonder, Richard Page, Paul McCartney, Marvin Gaye, etc etc), but I’ve probably studied those first three guys the most.

And regarding this song in particular, I was especially inspired by Luther Vandross’s approach
