    When i rebuild them i use a electric pressure washer to get off old gaskets then soak them in a carb cleaning solution that takes all the water out

    9:56 Are those grooves in the top of the piston where the valves have smacked it?? Or reliefs cut into it??

    We have a local cheap shop to fix atvs, he has my Honda 300 and he's boring it out, new rings and winstico piston, valves, and valve seals and he also took apart the motor for 100 to see what was wrong before I told him to do the job, he changed 735 to get it running, and that stuff

    doing same job. Struggling to get the chain, gear and cam together. Your video goes from no cam to cam, gear and chain instantly. Any tips on how this goes together?

    I'm in the process of pulling the motor on my 95 300 fourtrax 4x4, do I have to pull the axles in order to get the front drive shaft out? I've got the engine mounts unbolted and I've got the front diff bolts out but I can't seem to get the diff moved up enough to get the drive shaft out. any suggestions? thanks

    • @Solitude313
      @Solitude313  Před 7 lety

      No you do not, once you remove that front diff bracket it should pull forward enough to then be able to compress the driveshaft and pull it out. Then once thats out move the engine forward to clear the back U-Joint

    Are the timing marks the same on an 88 ? My cam only has one line ! Not two lines and a dot !
    I got my timing set on the T mark , and one line level with the head , the mark is on the cam facing the rear of of the quad

    • @Solitude313
      @Solitude313  Před 6 lety

      outsider kustoms Are your cam lobes facing down? I believe its the same

    • @Ratchet-strap-Garage
      @Ratchet-strap-Garage Před 6 lety

      SolitudeCustoms no they were facing up , I believe. Valves closed . Spins over like it has low compression. I put oil down cylinder to try to raise Compression, shot starting fluid down the intake, all it did was shoot fire out the intake , smoke from the oil in the cylinder rolls out the valve cover holes and crank vent tube.

    • @Solitude313
      @Solitude313  Před 6 lety

      outsider kustoms T in the Timing Hole, Lobes facing down, timing marks level with the head and the dot racing up. Then adjust your valves

    • @Ratchet-strap-Garage
      @Ratchet-strap-Garage Před 6 lety

      Nope never mind , mine does have the dot . The other line was covered with oil . Didn't see it . It is set like yours .
      I guess I'm going to go get a compression tester and go from there !
