Think Media I'm using my Cellphone It makes pretty good quality in my opinion.
Do you mind looking at my channel and give me some tips?
Think Media hi
An t5i and soon t7i (comes in Friday!!!)
I'm using Panasonic G85 for my vlogs :) I'd like to see more tech reviews about affordable lenses myself!
I also have a canon g7X mark II.
That tip about checking a clip before recording a batch.. genius. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve wasted recording only to find I can’t use any of the footage!
I don’t usually comment but this channel
Is the reason I bought my CZcams camera and now I’ve just learnt how to set it cos of this same channel. I love it
10/10 would definitely recommend this for anyone wanted to learn about cameras ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video! My husband and I just started his CZcams channel and he is super excited about it. I found your channel and I love your videos so I referred you to my husband so he can get better at this. I'm a stay home mom and my husband is self employed. He has been working hard to maintain our family. I can't really afford to get him a full shooting set, so it would be nice to win this and surprise him. But regardless of anything we love your channel and it's helped us very much. Thanks!!
As someone who just started a channel this is extremely helpful... thx a lot... I’ve been learning so much literally started from ground zero thx 👌🏾
This was the best/most detailed camera settings tutorial that I needed for my dslr. My content has been looking terrible, I even switched from the mark ii to the m50 because I thought it was the camera (still prefer the canon m50 though). Now I have the right settings to actually set up. Thank you so so much!!
This has to be one of the most informative video on the basic of producing decent content. Not only did you explain it all in details but you did in a way that anyone listening could understand it and run with it! Thank you for taking the time. I will support your channel and hopefully will continue to learn!
We're a non profit helping people with special needs. This video helped a lot. Just got the Canon SL2, mic and lights. Here we go. Thanks Sean.
This was very informative. One thing you didn’t cover that I would love to see more on is focusing modes. Manual focus is great but it’s very hard to use when you don’t have someone helping. My auto focus tends to go crazy when I move my hands or any movement really and my footage ends up ruined because it’s in and out of focus so much! I’d love to see a video that focuses more on that! Thank you!
czcams.com/channels/sy0bZwI9TZrAOheyrwEcQQ.htmlvideos
Buy a camera with dual pixel auto focus
same.. I cant turn off my auto focus so its constantly trying to focus when Im moving my hands doing the crochet close up
Get a camera that has face detection and focus like new Sony cams. I use a7iii and the focus is great on videos
God bless this dude, he is the best tutorial guy in CZcams so far, he is straight to the point no BS , and he answers every question that comes to mind. UNBELIEVABLE!
I have no idea about photography let alone video cameras, but this presentation was nothing short of BRILLIANT!
Can’t stop rewatching this video. Great tips for beginners here.
thank you for this info i can finally order what i need to start my CZcams channel. You are the best and thanks for all the tips and tutorials on how to do so.... have a wonderful day Greetings from Austin Texas..
For a long time, I shot with a Canon 5D Mark II, but I switched to a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100. I also do 30 frames/second and 1/60 as my shutter speed. For aperture, I had to experiment to find a happy place. I had a prime lens on the Canon which opened up to an f-stop of 1.4. With the new camera, I don't recall how wide it opens, but I learned my lesson with the Canon. Too wide an aperture does not give enough depth of field if I move. I found an f-stop of 2.8 was a good compromise. An ISO of 400 seems to work.
I have two lights similar to what you show. Additionally, I use two room lights as well as a spotlight for another camera to show writing samples. (I do fountain pen videos.) I experimented with white balance. The only trouble I have with it is on the camcorder that shows writing samples (it's more automatic). With my regular camera, it's smart enough to make me look good. If I can ever figure out how to do manual settings on the camcorder for writing samples, that will be great.
For sound, I use a Blue Yeti. In a recent video, I forgot to press "record" on that until I was 1/2 way through the video (funny you mentioned that). Yes, it makes a difference!
I'm still experimenting a bit with lighting. I use green screen, so I have struggled a little with lighting. It turns out the white parts of my hair pick up reflection from the green screen! But, some tweaks seem to have cured that. I film in a small, cramped setting, but it has been a good experience to learn to work with it.
And you are right: content is what is really paying off for me. Before I knew what I do now, content was what got people to watch my channel in the first place. My channel has grown more rapidly since I got serious about technique, but content brought me my most loyal viewers and still gives me good retention.
Thanks for the thoughtful response. As someone new to CZcams it is nice to read your thought process and the evoloution of your experiences.
Thank you! Clear and easy to follow and understand. Love your energy. Subscribed!
Sean, this video is a real home run! I will recommend it to anyone who is starting a CZcams channel or just a review for a seasoned CZcamsr as myself. Thank you for the hard work and generosity that is so evident in this video!!
Dude! You’re the best, I was wondering why my videos were coming out darker lol. Thanks!!!
Subscribe NOW only
Since I just started I am using my phone to make videos. I'm hoping to get the cannon m50 bundle kit soon!!
Same
you are super profession and on point. my video was getting blurry when i focused and i have been frustrated with this for a week, and stumbled across your video ( i have seen your videos before and i dig em ) in particular this one, in which things started light bulbing for me when focusing in movie mode . thanks man!
You are my GO TO guy for anything related to vlogging !! Professional, informative and straight to the point !! Thank you so much !!
Great video Sean! Very well explained for anyone starting out.
Pro tip: When it comes to video quality, select the All-I option for video instead of IPB. The IPB option is for high compression, lower quality and smaller file size. However, the All-I option is MUCH better quality at a much LARGER file size because the video is recorded with lower compression.
Really, good video. I've always had a passion for photography/video/film/video editing it's so much fun. Since I've started having the idea of creating my own CZcams channel, your videos have been VERY helpful, insightful & easy to understand. I LOVE all your helpful tips, keep up the good work!
This is by far the most helpful video I have seen for beginners. Keep them coming. This is greatly appreciated!
Amazing explanation I’m the type of girl who gets lost with direction thank you so much
Great tips, Sean! Thank you so much!!!!!!
You won me over.... You did a fantastic job explaining the custom white balance using the gray card. This was my exact problem and you helped me fix it moving forward. Nice job and Thank you so very much.
You are THE BEST, Sean! Thanks for making our lives easier! You really motivate creative people to start our projects. Specifically to stop thinking and start doing. 🙌🏼📸 Thanks!
I shoot with my S7 Edge. Would be great if you do a similar one for android videomaking.
These tips will save time to color grade in post. Thanks Sean . 😊😊
👊⚡💯
True! Looking forward to trying out these settings on my camera! 😄💪💕
Awesome! I like that you share the practical side of making YT videos as well as getting started. Cheers.
I bought the sl2 based on your recommendation, subscribed and love this content. You are seriously helping set up my video for a much more professional and dialed in result. Thank you so much!
thanks I appreciate your video but you are not explaining how to get each and one of those settings, specially when someone is beginning, like I have no idea how to keep up with you because I don`t know how to get there, thanks anyway
Thank you for everything you do ❤️
I’m so glad I came across your videos. This is the kind of information I need to learn and know..... You have a way with words, I don’t find myself lost or super confused👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is all legit for one of the kids in my youth group. He’s all about this and I’m happy to help him out. Great kid and glad to go to bat for him.
I USED CANON 80D
Ps..not so many subs as you deserve @Think Media..Keep on giving us tips to succeed.Thnx
dude am watching your video now, and you just nailed it, i have been wondering why my videos have always had a trailing tail, and it was because using high f-stop compared to the frame rate. the double thing, is my take away. awesome man.
Finally! A video that explains my camera setup. Starting from the bottom so I needed it :)
HAHAHAHHA I’m editing my video right now while I’m watching this 😍😍😍
What about Auto focus vs manual focus and focus tracking settings?
I was looking for the same.
Same here, thanks!
I think Sean was shooting in auto focus because at 7:45 in the video you can see the "SERVO AF" button displayed. If he were in manual mode then it would not be displayed.
I think this is the very best video I have seen on CZcams. Thanks for all your helpful tips!!!!!
You are fantastic at this. Thanks so much for all of the videos. They are so helpful and you are so well spoken and animated. Very enjoyable to watch!
This is so helpful, thank you very much.
All your videos are super helpful! Thank you!
You're welcome! 👊⚡💯
I don't know how to thank you for your advices... It has helped me a lot... And I have been working as the way you directed.. Plz keep contributing like this😊
I use a Canon 1300d. These tips were what I needed. Gonna upload my very first CZcams video real soon now.
When you feel like this video was made especially for you but you're probably not that special. 🤣
That you so much! This was extremely helpful! Do you have any videos on how you edit your videos on your computer?
i want to see one to
@Smartphone Max the
E
That what I want to lesson learn film.
I'm going to use a cannon 800d dslr double lens. Infact the camera is brand new & I have no idea how to use it & I've learned so much from this video. Thank you Think Media for making this video love from South Africa ❤🇿🇦
I use my iPhone 6s Plus but I bought a canon eos 1300D a year ago. I never used it for CZcams videos and nearly almost got rid of it, but this video gave me hope that it CAN work and could produce wonderful quality videos.
Another video i have been waiting for!
Your are best bro thanks for support we love you
Very nice setup! Ideal for downsizing my travel blog kit! Keep up the inspiring work Sean and team!
Hey Sean just saw your video, you’re honestly awesome helping people become better. Obviously it would be nice to win it because I’m on the process of doing CZcams and filmmaking. But what like the most is that you love to help out small creators. Thanks for all the videos you put out there for people to benefit from!
GREAT TIPS! I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I'M GOING TO WATCH THIS VIDEO 😂!
Thanks again Sean! Love the tips!
Ive been subscribed for a couple months and always enjoying watching what new tips and advice you give. EX: gray cards, I hadn't heard of them before today. Thank you!
Man, I learned so much on this video. I really appreciate you Sean. I hope you, mama and baby are healthy and happy!
Yu-
Great information
Stunning Video Sean! :)
One major thing I would include is...…...patience! lol one problem I have when setting up is not having patience. I rush setting up because I just want to start shooting. I think the problem too is I don't have a check list of things to do/setup before I shoot. This video is super helpful, I hope now I can take my time with setting up so I can create better looking content.
I love how you break down everything step by step. Your videos never disappoint!
Any tips and settings for recording using smartphone?
Do a search on the Think Media page or the Video Influencers page, I know they have videos on shooting with a smartphone.
Id opt for one of the Sony smart phone lens attachments...one has a 1 inch sensor while your smart phone has one the size of the head of a pin...which might not look bad to some...but when you feel its time to bump up quality...
i think there are some apps out there that allow for fine tuning the camera settings.
Thank for breaking it down for me ❤
Thank you Sean. You are my go 2 guy. You are clear and concise.
You are a life saver for my future in being a new youtuber
And here's the reveal...
I use phone for recording my CZcams videos.
Sangeeth Roshan Music
Me too! If you want to mess with similar settings to a DSLR you can find an App.
I use an iPhone 8 Plus and currently playing with ProCam 5. I can adjust shutter speed and white balance too. I can see a difference in my test footage compared to the phone camera settings.
Thanks! I'm currently using 'open camera' (Android). With the default camera app, it was refocusing while recording. With this app, I'm able to lock the focus and the exposure.
Sangeeth Roshan Music can you tell me how do you do that please
To lock the focus, click the 3 dots and click the lock icon. Then click the lock icon in the top menu to lock exposure.
Thanks...I learned a lot about shooting CZcams videos watching your channel.
Finally found a video that actually explains dslr settings well! Thank you so much for this..
cool vid mate
👊⚡💯
He should talk about the 3 lighting points
I'm using the cannon 80D and I haven't a clue what I'm doing. But thanks for your videos, i lean a lot by watching them!
This video is the best of its type or topic on CZcams, thank you Sean ❤
You said "You can shoot with audio" instead "on auto". Yes, I'm paying attention... And am fun at parties (well, not really)
I came to check the comments to see if I was the only one who noticed 😂
4:24 That's a badass marshall in the background!
Thank you man👍👍👍👍
woh! this is exactly what I needed, thanks Sean! Nikki bought me a SL2 for Christmas and I've been trying my hardest to adjust. But, between the SL2 and my older G7X there were issues I noticed that I couldn't put my finger on. I just bookmarked this video, thanks so much!
- Neil
Oh my god this was so helpful! I have searched everywhere for this kind of detail. Also, I have the same camera so the setting tips help A LOT. Thank you so much!!
I have to thank you for your dedication and effort you have put in this one. Keep up the great work.
Not sure what audio levels you were using on this one but you're smashing that limiter.
You have some of the best looking explainer Videos on CZcams. You should really be proud.
Thanks for sharing these tips.
Watched your m50 video which helped me decide and now I am using M50 for my photos and videos. Thanks
I finally found the best and easy tutorial for camera video setting! Problem solved! 🙏
I’m currently using my phone for my channel but I have a Canon T6i and I’m starting a new channel. Fought for an hour or more trying to get a Rode Video Micro to sound right 😂 didn’t realize the mode dial made a difference at all shooting video... so needless to say, this video was an enormous help.
Thanks!
Super good info here. Thanks. One of the things I've been wondering about is how you guys deal with the negativity that seems to come along with doing CZcams videos. You provide good, interesting, well thought out content and still get folks giving you a thumbs down or sometimes just getting downright nasty in the comments. What keeps you going when you get bummed out?
I just watched this video 3 times in a row and took all suggestions. Thank you for this!
i really need a youtube setup ..cause youtube is a perfect platform for me to persue my passion.
I think the youtube is entertaining everyone & also giving knowledge also....I am happy by using your youtube.... Thank youuuu....
Thankyou so much for sharing the settings! its really worth to know these details for a better video quality.
Your videos are always packed full of helpful information. Love it!
Amazing channel, basically youtube 101
I use a canon t7i and I’m very happy with it. Would not be opposed to upgrading to an 80D however I think they are very similar.
80D is great if you haven't used it yet. I hear the 90D is around the corner - would wait and invest.
Thanks so much! You use the same camera I use so this was SUPER helpful!
Gave a thumbs up in the moment I saw the Marshall Amp. 6 seconds done and already like the video 🙂
all the best everyone.. thanks for this opportunity
Thank you. I use a Canon SL1 for videos, which is very similar to your SL2. I've never paid attention to any custom settings on videos, but I can see these instructions will help. I just got a stereo mic to plug in. I usually use an SL1 on a tripod connected to an AC adapter. It's a bit of a hassle changing batteries on the SL1 because the battery door is blocked by even a pretty small tripod release plate. The AC adapter is great to eliminate that problem, but it unfortunately creates a lot of hum in the audio with the new stereo mic, though not at all with the built-in mono mic. If I use the camera on battery power, the new mic works great.
I wish I found you two or three years ago. Great instructional video!
