- In this video I hike through the tea plantations around Nuwara Eliya to eventually make my way to the small village called Courtlodge where first a friendly lady shows me the temple and then a friendly guy shows me a hidden waterfall.

she was very helpful but in such a lonely place that was risky not knowing tim he could have been anyone hence the lady she walked with and came along after should have walked with them in the first place . she seemed trustworthy hence he could have given a donation to her for the temple . i dont get why some tourists keep asking everybody their names . it might be ok if the tourists first tell their name and then ask . also as a child i got told off by my parents for pointing at someone as it is classed wrong t do in my country . how is it in sl ?

@Facts Pilot you guys fluent in English but never learned to appreciate something positive.. neither myself is perfect with anger management issues.. but there are genuine people with good heart although they have anger issues.. so stay positive with all he has done.. don't just highlight one negative thing

Logita’s mother was so generous instructing her daughter to take the stranger to the temple. Such human kindness is rare - such trust is so humanity embracing. Logita was a wonderful guide for Tim. God of Beauty shines in Logita’s spirit.

Have you not noticed the two boys who were following Tim(If I'm not wrong the part of two boys is already deleted but he has mentioned it in the description)? In the discussion of pluckers, Tim did not ask them to pose for his video. What I've realized is, a lady just convinced Tim to take some pictures and Tim just thought that she wanted to take some pictures by him for no reason. It's not fair at all to ask for money even if Tim had requested them to pose for his video.

The Indian Tamils (or Hill Country Tamils) are descendants of bonded labourers sent from Tamil Nadu to Sri Lanka in the 19th century to work on tea plantations. Most Sri Lankan Tamils live in the Northern and Eastern provinces and in the capital Colombo, and most Indian Tamils live in the central highlands.

There are 2 types of Tamils in Sri Lanka, Tamils of Indian origin and Tamils who are native to Sri Lanka. Tamils of Indian origin live in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. Native Tamils of Sri Lanka mainly live in the north and east. Thank for visiting our country

In Sri Lanka, 25% speak Tamil…14% are Hindus,10% Muslims ,1%~ Christians..That Old man was advising not to ask money ig as far as I heard..And when u were offering biscuit to that first woman she ,the other day was like when we offer u don’t take but when a foreigner offers you take 😅 Actually these people aren’t paid properly 900 per day these days is nothing..The government doesn’t provide proper infrastructure and basic necessities but before elections they keep 1000’s of promises..Sadly that’s the truth 💔If u are still in Sri Lanka do visit Trincomalee,Batticoloa (PS these places are less visited by tourists but you have stunning beaches and other tourist attractions)

i totally agree with you especially your last sentence generally and when most foreign currancies have very good exchange meaning things are pretty cheap for visitors . as for the tea ladies . them or other sl who are in videos where tim and any other traveller make money from yt hence the local people anywhere are like actors and hence they should - also get paid some money - . without people in the videos there would only be landscapes and safaries to film .
Agreed. Life isnt easy there for many, like you said is up to you to give, so no big deal. You cant go to another Country, another culture and try to impose or teach your ways. Actually this is not the highest village in nuwara eliya..it is Shanthipura which is located 4km away from nuwara eliya town..and it is very calming and beautiful village which you can see the whole nuwara eliya town, adam's peak, piduruthalagala and other beautiful views.

Indians from Orissa/West Bengal area arrived in Sri Lanka, millennia ago, and procreated with the native Sri Lankans (Veddas) which created Sinhalese people.
North Eastern Indians + Veddas = Sinhalese people.
Sinhalese people have very varied appearances for such a small community - Sinhalese people can look like Malayalis to Bengalis to South East Asians 😊

I'm a Sinhalese woman and I look South East Asian (Malaysian, Indonesian, etc). I live in the UK and I get asked if I'm Vietnamese, Filipino, Indonesian and even Chinese, I've never been asked if I'm Indian. There are many Sinhalese women who look like me.
I never said Sri Lankan Tamils are from India, I was specifically talking about these Indian Tamils who work on tea plantations. Friendly advice: if you don't know what you're talking about, it's best to keep quiet 😊
