As a formerly obese person, it feels so good to have a movie with a serious, sympathetic look at what it’s like to be obese instead of just treating it like the butt of the joke. It’s a serious problem that a lot of people misunderstand and it deserves to be recognized in this light.

When asked if he would come to accept his award if he won the Golden globe for best actor, in spite of being molested by one of it's alums, he replied " No. My mother didn't raise a hypocrite" I mean how many actors kissed Harvey Weinstein's ass for decades in spite of what he did to them, simply because he was a big wig in Hollywood? The beautiful thing is Brendan Fraser is one of those rare celebrity cases where no matter how hard you look, no one has anything bad to say about him. The reports from working with him are along the lines of “he’s so caring, he’s the nicest guy, he’s so easy to work with, he gives a shit about the cast as well as the role”. So he’s just genuinely a good person, from the sounds of it. It makes the hardships he’s recently been through much more gut wrenching to hear about since they happened to someone so undeserving of them. But it also makes his return to the big screen an absolute treasure and a spectacle. The important thing is, he's biased in an open way rather than certain critics that pretend as if they don't bring their tastes into a review. It's why he is one of a select few CZcamsrs who even though I don't watch every video. I have kept coming back to him for over 13 years and will continue doing so until the day I die, or if by some slim chance he quits before I die. He's my generations Roger Ebert, we don't have the exact same taste and views on things. But that's a good thing, don't have an example of the top of my head but sometimes he's given something a bad review and I knew that meant that I would like it, and vice versa. The way I see it, the best reviewers you feel like you can trust you should agree with them 70% of the time maybe a little less. Watched your review before I went to the theater tonight. Oh my gosh. This movie was absolutely incredible. I'm also a huge Aronofsky fan, so I am sure I am a bit biased. However, from about 10-15 min in I was already getting emotional. About 30 min I was crying. From then onwards, I was crying on and off the whole movie. What an emotional experience! Aronofsky really knows how to get amazing performances out of actors. I think this may have actually squeezed it's way into my Top 5 films of the year; I need to sit on it a bit more though.

The family dynamics is what made this really a stand out for me., the one scene between him and the mom where she listens to his heart and he reminisces and there's that build up is just brilliantly set up.

The best scene for me was (SPOILERS AHEAD) the conversation he had with his wife about their troublesome parenting. It really puts their parental roles in perspective. The mother is clearly the angry parent and Charlie is the softer one who should have been there to cheer the kid up after the lecturing and tough love from her mom.
Even by the end of the movie I wasn’t convinced that his daughter really cares about people, but no parent wants to believe that.
