      he's just loud. He has a big ego that makes people feel uncomfortable to talk against him. He waves off good points made against him and he's patronizing, "i'll make it easy for you". People don't like being around people like that. Egos can't fit into heaven. He's as humble as a fart.

    • @zainboyko1045
      @zainboyko1045 Před rokem +19

      @Alistair Murray He isn't loud hes assertive. Don't co fuse the two. He states obvious things. The people he talks too will go into preacher mode and wave off topic when he asks them questions they don't like or puts them on the spot where they don't have an answer for. so he only has so much patience before he makes them look like a fool which the do without him saying anything

    • @alistairmurray626
      @alistairmurray626 Před rokem +1

      @@zainboyko1045 He's "passionately" aggressive, mostly passively, which is not good for the thinking process because it puts your brain into fight or flight mode, right or wrong, black or white. He never once admitted he could be wrong about some of the arguments presented to him, and he just talks about something else, or adds a different layer to the conversation to distract. For example he equates the words "natural" with "normal" but replaces them when it suits him. It's easier for him to say that homosexuals are not normal, but agrees that they are naturally occurring, but then when shown this he builds it to extremes to say that two men who are related shouldn't be having relations and gets you to agree with it. But you could play that same trick on him, we would say that heterosexual relations are normal/natural, but you can't disprove this by saying that an adult siblings / close relatives shouldn't be having relations.
      He always "wins" the arguments, which means he knows everything, and doesn't need to learn anything more, and now he is the preacher who can't say anything wrong, and cannot grow through self reflection.
      In his defence, I do feel that being in a mob like environment of that park, with "unstably passionate people" around you biggin each other up doesn't help this, and may be the reason why he feels the need to be so defensive, trying to save face etc. Nothing more embarrassing for a preacher to be proved wrong in front of his people. I imagine he would have a more relaxed demeanour if talking one on one in a calm/no-ones watching/judging you environment, which would result in a more fruitful conversation where both sides learn something.
      You can prove me wrong if you can link me to a video where he gets in a debate and realises what he is saying is wrong, and thanks the person for showing him a new way of thinking about things. But they always end on a "lets agree to disagree" kinda feeling. You can't grow that way, he's either overly defensive to save face or he's perfect, i imagine both are disrespectful to Islam.

      "he equates the words "normal" and "natural" but replaces them when it suits him."
      23 minutes 50 seconds
      Hamza realized that the word "normal" was better than "natural" to explain his position.
      24 minutes He says he won't make the mistake again.
      He'd obviously "learned" something and was honest about it.
      So you're the liar.
      You don't have to agree that 2 men who are related or not related shouldn't be having sex with each other.
      His interlocutors made their own choices and no answers were forced from them, no "trick".
      You just didn't like their agreement 😅 and your alternative "heterosexual relations" is incoherent.
      Your comment is self refuting.

    • @alistairmurray626
      @alistairmurray626 Před rokem +2

      @@michaelevans4110 23:50 he realized that he can't get away with saying homosexuality is not natural, so opts to use the word normal, and he's "thanking" the man because he helped him get out of the bind he put himself in.
      24 mins i bet he won't make that mistake again, he'll never use the word natural to describe something he doesn't like. he'll just use the word "normal", which means absolutely nothing in this context, he's thanking people for giving him a get out. he gives the example of being born with luikemia as not normal, therefore "wrong" ?? what about being born with red hair? that's not "normal" even by his standards (he says over 1 in 2 or something is normal). So is having red hair wrong / unnatural?? no again, he just dismisses this with loud talking about something else to distract, saying "i'll make it easy for you", what a patronizing ignorant person.
      Even when given evidence that homosexuality happens all across the animal kingdom he dismisses it as being a result of males not being able to get a female, which is just plain wrong. He even says that humans are not animals, which is lie.
      "You don't have to agree that 2 men who are related or not related shouldn't be having sex with each other." whether you agree or not is not the point, the question is, should it be forced upon people to accept these things or not. Opinions are not laws. He goes down the route of saying anal sex is damaging (it can be), but so can blowjobs, which he tries to defend as being ok (cos he likes getting his dick licked), but any dentist will tell you they can tell if someone has been giving oral sex because of bruising and swelling at the back of the mouth.
      You said "his" interlocutors, not "the" interlocutors. And then go onto say that they make their own choices and don't agree with his, obviously they can make their own decisions though, i wasn't arguing that. I was arguing against the general passive aggressive behaviour which the last person called "assertiveness".
      They agreed to disagree, which meant they got nowhere, just a waste of time, i was just pointing it out, not saying i liked that they came to no agreement. but he took it as win for him at the end.
      "heterosexual relations" is incoherent - please explain.
      if you want to disagree with homosexuality because 2 men could be related, then you can the same "trick" by saying heterosexuality is wrong because 2 male/female cousins having sex is wrong.
      You didn't even try to refute any of my other arguments.
      again, show me a link where he actually says what he thinks is wrong, and don't use the above "example" because he was thanking him for being able to get around his argument that still doesn't make sense.
      he's just very good at getting away with saying "yeah, but ... (insert irrelevant info here)", where i come from that's called distracting from the point at hand, or bullshit

    Hamza you should know this for future reference in these debates, but there is a growing body of literature that shows babies and young children have a natural predisposition towards believing in God, the supernatural, and the afterlife.
    A three-year international research project, directed by two academics at the University of Oxford, finds that humans have natural tendencies to believe in gods and an afterlife.
    The £1.9 million project involved 57 researchers who conducted over 40 separate studies in 20 countries representing a diverse range of cultures. The studies (both analytical and empirical) conclude that humans are predisposed to believe in gods and an afterlife, and that both theology and atheism are reasoned responses to what is a basic impulse of the human mind.
    The researchers point out that the project was not setting out to prove the existence of god or otherwise, but sought to find out whether concepts such as gods and an afterlife appear to be entirely taught or basic expressions of human nature.
    'The Cognition, Religion and Theology Project' led by Dr Justin Barrett, from the Centre for Anthropology and Mind at Oxford University, drew on research from a range of disciplines, including anthropology, psychology, philosophy, and theology. They directed an international body of researchers conducting studies in 20 different countries that represented both traditionally religious and atheist societies.
    Some findings of the Cognition, Religion and Theology Project:
    Studies by Emily Reed Burdett and Justin Barrett, from the University of Oxford, suggest that children below the age of five find it easier to believe in some superhuman properties than to understand similar human limitations. Children were asked whether their mother would know the contents of a box in which she could not see. Children aged three believed that their mother and God would always know the contents, but by the age of four, children start to understand that their mothers are not all-seeing and all knowing. However, children may continue to believe in all-seeing, all-knowing supernatural agents, such as a god or gods.
    Experiments involving adults, conducted by Jing Zhu from Tsinghua University (China), and Natalie Emmons and Jesse Bering from The Queen's University, Belfast, suggest that people across many different cultures instinctively believe that some part of their mind, soul or spirit lives on after-death. The studies demonstrate that people are natural 'dualists' finding it easy to conceive of the separation of the mind and the body.

    • @jeffallcock4561
      @jeffallcock4561 Před 3 měsíci

      You are too clever by half.
      Of course humans have a tendency to believe in gods and the afterlife. We always have done, and probably always will do, in one form or another.
      Most children will believe in a supernatural agent (Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, etc) until they are mature, at which point they may or may not transfer that belief to a higher being, depending on indoctrination. But citing the beliefs of children, never mind babies, to validate religious beliefs is a pretty slim reed to cling to.

    I would have worded differently instead of using the protecting individual, protecting society and also protecting others - that is sharia but I think he needed a bit more convincing reason as to why homosexuality is a transgression.
    The philosophy of morality is when you compromise your personal desires for social progression, it’s a ethical/proper behavior even if you like or dislike something. Making it
    into subjective love or lust is just redefining it. If God exists and is the Judge and the
    lawgiver - Then He should also be Guide to direct people to what He wants them to do.
    And In Islam - Allah does not guide people to commit useless/invalid/null actions/falsehoods/ “Batil” - [in Arabic], whether it be worship of false gods, self-harm, or following self-opinions other than His own commands or laws, as they are unnecessary, hence becomes “batil”. Since God has given moral laws - going against His commands leads to
    self-harm or harm to society as a consequence. Same gender indulgence is “batil” because it is purposeless, both biologically and socially, it will not help in procreation nor
    in social demographics. As one of the main purposes of humans’ creation as per Quran is to act as successive stewards on this planet. And one cannot steward the earth
    if they are following their own desire.
    Biologically, your body parts are created for particular functionality, if you are not using them for their intended purpose and indulging in action just for pleasure or thrill and other subjective desires, then you are basically doing invalid action. Therefore, if you combine both - sodomy is forbidden whether with male or female, tribadism or trying to become
    opposite gender by transforming genitals or body or inhibiting hormones, these are all unnecessary invalid action in God's sight, because you are doing what you want, not what
    you are intended for. That is underlying theological explanation, in regards to why the God in religion dictates laws against homosexuality and changing one's nature.

      If pleasure is not a valid reason to engage in an activity, and you applied that logic consistently, you would say straight oral sex is just as immoral as gay oral sex, or tribadism. The topic was raised by the atheists in this video.

      In Islam things that are opposite to god's attribute are forbidden. and oral sex although pleasurable is still not recommended between straight couples let alone gay, as you are placing something that you excrete [impure] with in someone else's mouth.
      I presented a perspective - I did not elucidated the moral grounding of Islam in my post. So that is not even an argument.

      If heterosexual oral sex is permissible, is less immoral than homosexual oral sex/tribadism, then you can't contend that the issue has anything to with using things in ways they aren't primarily intended for.
      I'm not arguing those things are moral, I'm just pointing out that if you can only use genitals for the sake of having babies, then you would have to concede many other things need to be forbidden too.

    They simplified "being born that way" too much. One can be born with inclinations, or too much too little of proper hormones but it is also effected by the culture they are exposed to and grow up in. The man kept saying 15% of the population is considered gay but right now in many American school huge percentage shifts are happening for kids identifying as Queer, or Non-binary etc which just happens to coincide with a huge societal push in that direction. There was a time in ancient Greece where young pre-tweenie boys were taken by Generals and men in high standing as love objects (Pederasty) and it was considered the Greatest expression of Love for those times -as society promoted this by both Women and Men. Now we would say thats a crime. Culture does effect people's understanding of their own sexuality.

      @@ahmed4100 lol trust me I am understanding the point very well. Consent and adulthood are pretty fundamental legal requirements for any sexual relationship (even in heterosexual couples). But apparently two adults who love each other can be in a sexually active relationship if they are (1) straight UNLESS it's incest, but if you want to include people who are (1) straight and (2) gay then the initial premise cannot work unless incest is permissible? Haha it makes no sense whatsoever it's so plainly obvious I am struggling to understand how people are not able to pick up this fundamental fallacy in the argument. Separately, incest between two consenting adults is not illegal but it is frowned upon, amongst several reasons also because a sibling or parent & son/daughter relationship from a psychological perspective should not generate feelings of sexual arousals. From a psychoanalysis perspective it is clearly problematic. Homosexuality on the other hand has absolutely nothing to do with this, and no reputable psychologist will ever assert that a person being gay is problematic. The two arguments are COMPLETELY disconnected lol. Again, it's a logical fallacy, it's simply trying to connect two different topics by muddling the premises of the argument. Which is what he pretty much does in most of his videos.

    And the mufasireen of the hadith use the word "jibillah" when explaining "fitrah" which means "part of creation", so the translation "innate disposition" isn't particularly accurate, and the better translation would be "innate belief"
