Some people don't write on the backside of sheets. Thus a normal 3 ring binder, having a ring in the middle, said ring could get in the way for a left hander who's reaching across to the right page to write on its face when moving down the page. This problem isn't an issue of course for a right handed person, since there are no rings in the way for the same page. OF COURSE if writing on both the front and back of the pages, then this binder would be good for both right handed and left handed people.

I don't know why this would be good specifically for left handers. The rings would still get in the way at the top and bottom of the page.
Some of the binder’s rings are made of softer material, therefore it wouldn’t be much of a pain to write with.
