That plane is one of the best prop plane in the world thereby its a very safe plane. I rode on those types of planes several times and its as good as the bigger jet planes, barring the propeller noise.

Turboprops arent any more dangerous in flight (on ground they could be to ground crew) than turbofans, they are just louder and slower flying but more fuel efficient.

I'm so early! First comment. And yes, if you ride a small plane like that, chances of meeting the captain is high. I've experienced that when we went to Batanes where a small plane is the only allowed aircraft. Captains are very welcoming to tourists.

One time in California it was raining hard they couldn't see a thing most of the plane made a detour to other places. Here comes PAL from Manila asked permission to land in LA or SF (I forgot already) and just smoothly came in as if nothing disturbed it. They were the first to successfully land on that day.
You know why? Because almost all Filipino passengers, men and women alike are praying their Rosary the whole trip until the plane landed. So if one passenger can finish 10 Rosaries during the trip and there are 500 Filipino. Multiply 500 x 10 = 5,000 Rosaries? That's a lot of graces from the good Lord. They also invoke their Guardian Angels, the 3 Archangels, all the Saints in Heaven and ask the Poor Souls to intercede to God for them.
More or less your travel will be safe.

Heyo! I am a aviation enthusiast, and the turboprop plane you fly is the *Bombardier Q400 Dash 8* its a short-haul aircraft and has 30+ Seats.
Turboprop or turbo propeller type aircraft usually used in shorter runways
We call those plane models with propellers "Sunrisers". I actually preferred them over the big turbine ones. Reminds me of my bus rides through the mountainous regions in Mindanao and actually lulls me to sleep. Had been on several turbulent flights on one of these back in the 90s that I slept through like a log. Woke up just as we were touching down in the tarmac with my companions looking at me like I'm crazy.

The atr72 is a safe aircraft. You have no need to worry when you are on a turbo prop.
